  1. Baja Fresh sighting at a Carcetti late night session in the Season 4 finale. I think Paulie asks Tony if he wants a Baja Fresh in a Sopranos episode as well. I miss that place. While I was at UT they had a buy a large drink get a free burrito coupon. They'd give you a beef or chicken fajita burrito will all the fixings, a drink, and chips for about $2.50. This was in 2005-2007, not the the '80s. I lived on BOGO Thunderclouds and Baja Fresh large drink coupons for a couple years.
  2. Time to fire this thread down. Good class. Unjustly rated by On3 and 247 'gards repeating the old tired line, Texas doesn't develop talent. It's never stopped those dickheads from giving Shane Beamer recruits 5 stars.
  3. This one is halfway decent. Nice vanilla note. Nice proof and price.
  4. Works for me. Simmons is perhaps the biggest bitch in NBA history.
  5. Yeah I'd be good with Marmaduke. He checks all the boxes, most importantly position flexibility. Regarding TE, I don't remember all the names, but they are at least 3-4 guys that could come in and Dalton Schultz type things. I wouldn't resign Greenard if they can get Chop Robinson on a 5 year rookie deal.
  6. It's good, but who is this for other than Ryan Murphy? It's 5 old queens feuding with another old queen. The performances are terrific, but I just don't care about what happens to the characters. Murphy hasn't done anything interesting since The People v. O.J. Simpson.
  7. There's a few Reddit threads about how Slim Charles winning The Wire as he's still alive and incarnated at the end of the show. While I think Marlo has a claim, Slim is the clear winner after being quoted by the Hawaii Supreme Court. Slim's highlights: - Survived the Marlo - Barksdale War despite being on the losing side. - Was somehow transferred to Prop Joe despite being a West Side player. - Was allowed to move packages on the West Side independent of Marlo without punishment. - Somehow survived Marlo's purge of Prop Joe's Crew/The Co-Op in Season 5.
  8. Correct. Still beats the shit out of the buy only option for $19.99 that the movie has been stuck on for a decade.
  9. Maybe a longer Russ without the turnovers and better defense? I would take that all day long with the 4th pick.
  10. I like Cousin Andy as well, but how many times can Larry screw up his dinner parties? That well has gone dry. It's a better show when Larry is married to Cheryl. Ms. Hines might have been in the best of business at making the WTF face to her onscreen husband. I agree they had to try something to shake things up, but the first of the series is better than the back half.
  11. Miller's Crossing is FINALLY available on streaming, Paramount +. I haven't watched in years. Probably the last time was on a Netflix DVD in 2009. I think they make the Italian gangsters a little silly while O'Bannon is Liam Neeson with a Tommy gun. Interesting choices, but it works.
  12. I think the heart of the show is Larry and Jeff getting into some shit, hiding it from Susie, Susie finds out and yells at Larry and Jeff. The show suffers when Larry and Jeff aren't hanging out. Every lunch with Richard Lewis is pretty funny. The Ted Danson rivalry is always great. Funkhouser was magnificent, but you can't do anything about that. Most of the golf/country club storylines have been pretty damn funny. I wish they'd go back to that well more even without Funkhouser. Leon is great, but he only has one note. I'm not sure he works as Larry's sidekick because well, Leon isn't the sidekick type. Moocher yes. Sidekick no. He's black Kramer, but they don't use him that way and the show has suffered for it. Vince Vaughn as Freddy Funkhouser is best new character. Spite Store is the best new episode.
  13. I'm mulling El Chapo on Netflix. It is in the same quality ballpark as Narcos Mexico?
  14. Did Andy’s own their building? I assume not because they shared a wall with another tenant.
  15. What restaurant? I know they liked The Palm, the old location on Westheimer.
  16. I wish. I think my wife has cleaned the house exactly once in 3+ years.
  17. Haha same. I grew tired of the maid missing the same place over and over again. So I finally put it up on the book shelf. As always, I'll wait for the movie before deciding to finish it.
  18. The Wire is a better rewatch than The Sopranos. That's saying a lot as The Sopranos is my favorite show. The Wire just flows better. Every season has a theme and a tight interconnected story to tell. And most importantly, very little domestic bullshit. No AJ getting suspended from school bullshit. No Lydia yelling at her nurse. No Meadow's boyfriends. No Carmela bitching at Tony for banging whores.
  19. We'll see. Stone trading for a veteran warm body point guard are popping up like mushrooms.
  20. I'd say it's his character, but taking the brand sounds like a very shitty deal. Basically indentured servitude for life. If you try to leave with John Dutton's permission, trip to the train station. And oh yeah, you get to live in a bunk house with 12+ other dudes. I understand Walker's reluctance/general bitch assery towards Rip.
  21. Yeah I made the right call. My title attorney dinner is at... Irma's. I would think their whiskey selection consists of Crown Royal, J&B, and Jack Daniels. The host is a smart guy. He figured out way to cut his dinner tab by 70%. No seafood towers, tomahawks, BTAC pours, or magnums of Silver Oak. I can't say I blame him. My company hasn't used his firm for a title opinion in quite a while.
  22. Elko checking off the Herman post season list. Underrated class full of hard workers and blue collar kids? Check. Fiery quote not based in reality? Check. Quiet confidence in the program? Check.
  23. Tech sneaking into the top 25 is pretty good for them, but that's almost all Hudson.
  24. Have you watched the NFL on FOX?
  25. I wouldn't venture outside of single barrel offerings. Before he lost his mind on pricing, Blackwell's sold an awesome 11 year SiB Belle Meade. I didn't finish my bottle of Belle Meade Cask Strength. A lot of people like it, but it just wasn't for me.
