  1. The pups would want to walk in -30 degree weather. I was able to walk them during lunch today. I’ll have to walk them at 530am tomorrow. It’s going to be brisk.
  2. SEC Shorts seems to be on the same schedule as SNL. 3 week breaks between episodes.
  3. Swept the Emmys. Swept the Globes. You got the bag. Time to end the facade. https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/shogun-season-2-update-writers-room-producers-1236266521/ Every non-update from Kondo and Marks is we have ideas, we’re writing them down. I would be shocked if they start production on a second season.
  4. Bobby: Texas really wanted Zach Branch, but didn’t want to take another safety. Package deal killed it. Terry (not Ty) Webb is the Texas State DT transfer that Texas is interested in. 850 snaps in 2 years of Texas State. More of a pass rush interior guy than a run stopper. 6’3” 315. 2 years of eligibility. Graduated from Ball High. CJ also thinks it’s not over with Noah Thomas. Different player than Sark normally likes, but makes plays down the field.
  5. He kind of sped through his explanation, but I think it mostly works. Basically, the land he wants to lease had shallow production years ago and dried up. The leases expired because of no production. He believes the Wolfcamp formation is under those leases. So he can take a new leases for “cheap” and drill the Wolfcamp. If he can get production from a couple wells and show a trend, a much larger company might buy his package of leases. Double Eagle is a recent example. OR He do exactly the same thing, but hold on to the leases and develop them himself. He will 1000% need financing for this. A few producing wells wouldn’t be enough to bankroll his entire play. Not in this day and age. But this is the Sheridanverse, so anything is possible. Again there are some success stories. Jerrah’s tall tale. Armand Hammer invested in a few barn burner California oil wells in a company that eventually became Oxy. Hilcorp is probably the best example Pig Pen’s plan. Taking old producing areas that aren’t worth the squeeze for majors, fixing it up/modernizing the equipment/drilling deeper formations, and getting new life out of it.
  6. I think it’s loosely inspired by the Double Eagle guys. Basically you take land that no one wants, drill a couple wells that produce well and flip it. There are many other examples. Bud Brigham started his company with $25k, but that was in 1990.
  7. The Carlin beef is bizarre. Ebersol not letting him host while Lorne was gone is strange. Not acknowledging him during the anniversary specials is baffling. I wonder if Carlin does not knowing what he did to piss them off.
  8. The show’s insistence that Houston doesn’t exist in the O&G business or the medical field is a pretty deliberate choice there TS.
  9. And… the shark has been jumped. Jerrah. Jesus Christ. That is some unhinged shit Sheridan.
  10. I don’t think you’re far off. I agree with the others that stated they’ve heard almost all of the same jokes before. I kept checking the release date to make sure I hadn’t already watched it. I think he’s hit his ceiling and he doesn’t really have anything new to say. I guess a sitcom is next if his stand up material is drying up. His Christmas Special on Paramount was much funnier. I won’t spoil it, but there’s a very funny story about Opryland.
  11. Any Eugene locals on surly? Based on my half ass research, it doesn’t seem like there’s much to do it in the town. Maybe, just maybe this will cost them enough recruits/transfers to kill Uncle Phil’s dream of a national title. I’m not disparaging the football program, Dan Lanning, their facilities, or the university. It’s a beautiful campus. Animal House is one of my favorite movies. I’m just curious to hear others’ opinions on the town and possibly geography keeping Oregon from becoming truly elite. I ask all this because it appears that Oregon is often used as a stalking horse for Deep South recruits and transfers to drive up their NIL offers. It’s hard to dispute their success in Texas.
  12. Valid point. I wonder if the package deal with brother caused Texas to back off. OTF has never said this though. Mitchell had a TD in every playoff game he played in at Georgia. Golden lit us up like a pinball machine with a bad QB. Those traits project.
  13. Back it college, wetried to eat at a PF Changs in Baton Rouge. 3 hour wait. People were cheerfully holding on to their reservation buzzers and waiting it out. It was fairly new to town, but I was gobsmacked. I’ve always thought Pei Wei was ok. They had a spicy Korean dish with noodles that was pretty good. They’ve closed all the locations near my house and office. I probably won’t revisit it.
  14. On the OTF podcast, CJ or Gerry had a pretty good insight on Texas DL transfer recruiting: They want 500 snaps, 3 years in P4 program. Shaw meets the criteria, so they’re interested. Also basically said Branch didn’t have a production for Texas to throw their hat in the ring.
  15. And that’s why Mills sucks.
  16. Rosencopter 2.0!!!!
  17. Eat shit Adams Family.
  18. And there’s the rub. Steve Buscemi isn’t a leading man. Great character/supporting actor. So Terrance Winter had to throw shit at the wall until something worked. Chicago/Stephen Graham worked great, but they couldn’t abandon Nucky’s story as the central character. The show never completely worked, and that’s OK.
  19. Florida strikes me as the right combination of desperate with the financial capability to poach Dillingham. They thought they had the money to fire Napier + hire Kiffin away from Ole Miss. Dillingham would be much cheaper. Timeline could be right too. 2 more years of Lagway. Wheels fall off again in 2027.
  20. Are you betting on a mutual parting? Venables’ buyout is $34.9 million after 2025. It’ll probably cost about the same to hire Dillingham away. Does OU have $70 million?
  21. I wanted Cincy to sneak in for the Hard Knocks drama, but I also wanted to play the Steelers. You can’t have both.
