  1. More of this. I can’t put it down.
  2. Lamb chops looked interesting too. Parking is valet only. No bar seating.
  3. Correct. Lots of former players in their media circle “print”, radio, podcasts and TV. No snarky geriatrics with armed guards walking them to the cars like at the Statesman. Lehman and Ikard come to mind. Drumm is worse than Hamm ever was, and a thief just for fun. Radosevich called Venables an “unbelievable coach” on the Solid Verbal earlier this month. Ikard has CTE. The Anthony Hill message board bullshit, and he’s lauded Venables for the stupidest shit. He spent an entire segment on OU is on the right track because Venables was on time for press conferences.
  4. So no half assed entertainment attorney is going to present that right? Makes me think she went rogue at the last minute and killed the deal. Awesome. It couldn’t be happening to a nicer guy.
  5. Office aggy is going through it. His eldest daughter is attending UT in the fall and will rush. Thoughts and prayers.
  6. As good a time as any to present my thoughts on Cheers after a second rewatch. - I’ll die on this hill: Rebecca wasn’t as good as Diane. Long was a real performer, a real actress, who should have had a better career. She could have done anything. She should have killed her representation after not working out a new contract with NBC. - Alley is just so limited as a performer. There’s a reason they cut her scenes season to season. Desperate gold digger or a depressed shit show were her only speeds. To her credit she’s the only character that gets a happy ending. - I’ve tried and tried to like Carla. Her only pleasant scene is the cold open where she dances while opening the bar. Other than that, she’s unapologetic bitch for 11 seasons. - Sam’s storyline got a lot sadder after Alley’s real life miscarriage ended Rebecca’s pregnancy storyline. He’s no longer the heroic ladies man. He’s an aging bachelor that always gets shot down. He ends the show unmarried with no prospects, no children, and I believe without his Corvette. At least he has his true love, the bar. - Norm and Cliff never do anything interesting, but that’s the point. With all the Ted Danson and Cheers references on Seinfeld, I wonder if Jerry and Larry were somewhat inspired to make a show about nothing where the characters never grow. - Frasier and Lilith are the funniest scenes of the show in my opinion. I know they have to break up for Frasier to move to Seattle, but they broke up abruptly and their story isn’t really resolved in the final season. I believe Lilith is living with Frasier, but the two aren’t a couple at the end.
  7. I’ve been processing it. 76 is a good run especially for a guy born in the 1940’s. Cheers in my book, is the best comfort food show of all time. It’s always good for a laugh or a smile even on your worst day. George Wendt was a big part of that, and we’re all better for it. Rest in Peace Norm.
  8. Yeah the talking heads seem to think the second pick + the Spurs extra picks is enough tor Giannis. I just don’t see it. The Bucks need both and the picks to start over. What annoys me is the national media believes Castle and Amen are equal players. Uh, no.
  9. Would Underwood running all over OU shock anyone? I’d say no. Michigan paid for Cam Newton. They think he can play right away.
  10. End of the day, the Sooner boards have convinced themselves that they have an elite defense littered with NFL prospects, Mateer + Arbuckle will fix the offense, and Nagy will fix the roster. They’re likely to go 0-3. That said, their PR people are impressive. Every Sooner expert interviewed on a national podcast or publication has argued they’re playoff contenders with a straight face.
  11. Thanksgiving Duck at Amore. It was pretty good. I’ll certainly be back for it in November.
  12. Can we have a dog walking etiquette discussion? I routinely see a fat lady in my neighborhood walking her massive Tibetan Mastiff down the street at 5pm in the Houston summers. This dog has to be miserable. Not sure what kind of paws that breed has, but I’ll wager they’re burnt. I get work and family schedules and all that, but do the decent thing and walk the dogs in the morning please. PS: I’m no saint. I attempted to walk the puppies at Memorial Park at noon last week. Little girl tapped out after 15 minutes.
  13. I’m not saying she should win, but I hope Abby Elliott is nominated for an Emmy. She’s the glue holding the show together, and she’s a terrific actress. Not sure what happened over there at SNL. She was routinely one of the best cast members in her seasons. She’s really funny.
  14. This one is rough. Just finished another Cheere rewatch. His interview on Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson’s podcast was great.
  15. Remember when Olivia Munn was the smoking hot cool sports chicks you wanted to hang out with? Yeah, I don’t either. Bitch on wheels doesn’t fit her. Peet got a much juicer role.
  16. It’s a worse version of Billions. Which had titties and better actors.
  17. What’s Urban supposed to say? He works for FOX and the last 2 national champions are in the Big Ten.
  18. I’m reluctant to share any Houston driving tips, but I feel that it’s always manageable if you give yourself enough time and there are no road closures. If 610 or one of the interstates is closed and you run into it, you are fucked and should just go home. I think many of the people bitching about Houston traffic live in the suburbs, commute during peak hours, don’t know the city well, and won’t drive fast enough to get around problems. If you don’t know back ways to get out of NRG, and Minute Maid/Toyota yet you’re behind help. I get why people with families live in the suburbs, but 45 minutes in no traffic just to get home is fucking crazy. My traffic complaints are : no one knows how to merge in this city, weekend traffic and turning right out of middle lanes. The latter is insanely dangerous, yet I see it often. If you drive defensively, treat it like a war and remain focused, you’ll be fine. Also, whenever possible drive early. Driving late doesn’t help much.
  19. Called earlier today, they are open.
  20. Given the balloons and banners, are they open finally?
  21. It’s been softball heavy all season. I believe they added the female host/softball expert this season, so it could be they’re focused on giving her stuff to do. Maybe it evens out eventually.
  22. Yeah Krennic shitting his pants v Vader was pretty great. I’m surprised he talked back to Tarkin in public.
