  1. It seems like the entire show is on good fishing. Even Bob is hitting homers. Awesome to see. Was there a law that forbade fishing the western grounds for king crab? Per Sig’s narration, they weren’t fished for a generation. Jake is playing with fire. You can’t be in 2 places at once buddy. If I were on FaceTime for a few hours with my wife every day at work, I’d expect to lose my job. Calling her between strings is 1 thing, but if S21 E3 is any indication, he’s constantly on the phone with her.
  2. Per The Ringer, NBA on NBC will feature prerecorded Michael Jordan segments. It doesn’t sound like he’ll be doing any live studio stuff. Disappointing.
  3. The Creek People guys have some balls. I would have told HBO to go to hell. You know the APD Cold Case detectives are going to ask them to come in.
  4. Howe and Rod Babers did a season preview on aggy. Jesus H. Christ. Some lowlights: - York is a top 5 LB in the country. Yes, they really said that. Look it up if you don’t believe me. - aggy might have the best rushing attack on Texas’ schedule. - Generic SECN like sentiments about aggy’s roster. NFL talent all over the roster, but can they put it all together?
  5. Yep. Football finances all non-revenue sports, and most SEC athletic are operating with tight ā€œreportedā€ margins or are operating at a loss. Arkansas is a great example. A formerly proud SEC program is basically tanking this season because they didn’t want to pay Pittman $20 million after the 2024 season. The media doesn’t help. After Michigan’s $20 million+ NCAA penalty, reporters were tweeting out Michigan’s endowment valued at $19.2 billion. The average fan, and apparently journalists, don’t understand you can’t spend endowment funds on athletics. There are very strict guidelines on how universities can spend that money. If there weren’t strict guidelines, aggy would have already spent every penny of their PUF portion on football years ago. Long story short, aggy (sort of), Texas, Georgia, and Alabama are the only SEC schools that can eat a huge buyout. Florida looked for a work around with Napier. Tennessee self reported penalties to fire Pruitt with cause.
  6. I like Huie’s original purpose of filming a documentary about false confessions. It got rolled into Yogurt Shop Murders and we get another nothing burger 4 hour special.
  7. UTSA at aggy feels like a classic TexAgs meltdown game. I could see them trailing like 14-13 at the the start of the fourth quarter and Looch handing out thousands of time outs.
  8. Did Dana touch on the plan for Costanza? He’s pitching too well to send him down again.
  9. Correct. Their next OOS opponents are ASU and Louisville.
  10. They’re dying out. They closed the 1604 location. I’d always stop on the drive to Midland because it’s on the way. Your order is top notch. I basically order that or pork chops and eggs every time.
  11. While she’s smoke, Alyssa Lang doesn’t do hyperbole well. Every segment with her was pretty lady says ridiculous things.
  12. Notre Dame’s schedule is pretty front loaded. They open with Miami, bye week, aggy. They really need USC and Cuse to be good to give them some national juice/attention down the stretch. Freeman vs Cristobal in a close game could lead to some very entertaining coaching decisions. I’d be stunned if aggy beat them in South Bend, but Northern Illinois did exactly that last season. Enjoy it while it lasts. Elko has said before he doesn’t want to schedule marquee opponents during his tenure at aggy.
  13. He said something like Gibson is a one cut back, and guys in front of him on the depth chart are better fits for what Texas wants to do on offense.
  14. I don’t understand. Gerry said it in a podcast. Why is this a controversial? Gerry and Bobby were answering questions at the end of the podcast. A Gibson playing time question was asked in the chat, and Gerry answered it.
  15. Finished it late last night. - I’m glad the thread hated the Ryan twist. It doesn’t undo the greatness of the show, but it was bad for all the reasons laid out upthread. Apple’s Presumed Innocent has exactly the same twist and very similar reasoning. At best Presumed Innocent is lazy. At worst they plagiarized a recent popular show. - Brianna was an awful, ugly fat bitch. They nailed the casting, acting, hair and make up. - I hope Dylan is looking at jail time for shoving a gun in Jess’ face. She’s cooperating, so you think the police would eventually get him. - I felt really sorry for Erin, but she made some horrible choices. Banging her much older cousin. Dating Dylan. Living with an alcoholic father when Jess and her mom would probably have taken her in. Getting catfished by an obvious American Eagle ad. Meeting her crush for the first time at a party in the woods she knew Brianna and Dylan would be at. She just seemed too innocent and naive to survive in that horrible town. - Why did the family allow Erin to live with Billy? How is that not raising alarm bells with Lori? - I guess I’ll chalk it up to being an inexperienced cop, but Zabel should have drawn his gun and arrested Wayne Potts the second he heard the pipe shaking. It seems pretty unusual to let a kidnapping suspect just go in the back of the house to grab stuff. Zabel was the most likable character on the show. Tough to watch him go out like that. - Lori has her work cut out for her. Son in juvenile detention. Husband and brother in law in prison for obstruction of justice/tampering with a corpse And oh yeah she has another infant to raise. - The show is an indictment of Gen Z just being unable to function. None of them have jobs or prospects. All of them are on drugs or are struggling with recovery. None of them of are raising their children, and depend on their parents to be parents again and again. - I consume quite a bit of true crime content. I’ll give the show credit for telling a nuanced story. In the real world, 99 times of 100 Dylan would be the killer. Hell I’ve listened to that podcast dozens of times.
  16. The title of the show must have fooled you. Common mistake. I believe Kelly references Notre Dame once in his reasoning for going to LSU. Lea never mentions ND.
  17. Gerry said his skill set is limited and he’s not a great fit for the offense before. I think we’re seeing that in fall camp.
  18. I like Dante’s game. Long curve developmental guy, but there’s upside at the end of that rainbow.
  19. Chatman filling in for Goosby and the offense not missing a beat is encouraging.
  20. I believe the Mariners were betting favorites to win the WS as of Tuesday. Good to see them cooling off.
  21. Just started it. I assume it gets better given the reviews. Very, very busy pilot with about 6 dozen characters. Can Mare just openly drink wherever she wants including a school?
