  1. So the cost is hidden to you. You, and whatever pool your included in,is paying the other $400+ of the cost past your copay in your ever increasing premiums. Welcome to American healthcare.
  2. I'm here for the unnecessary hand wringing..... Silly idea? Sure, but call me back when a mass shooter or potential presidential candidate assassin gets their rounds from a vending machine because they couldn't buy them at the Walmart counter or the street corner or take them from their parents basement shelf. We have a lot of other targets to keep guns and ammo out of the hands of psychopaths.
  3. Looks like forecast is pushing this further south than before. DFW and North Cen-Tex chances have dropped significantly. Good news if the movement south holds for Austin and SA.
  4. Nothing is all that great for cough but dextromethorphan, with responsible use, in liquid form is likely just as good for cough but without that pesky significant addiction potential and central respiratory depression. This strain of Covid, FLiRT, is pretty contagious but like the other Omicron strains, still does not appear to have a good affinity for deep lung mucosa. But it does like the gut so congratulations to those who feel like they have the flu and are also crapping their pants. I probably missed a few Covid cases earlier in June because some people with Covid were presenting only with GI symptoms and we were coming off a wave of Norovirus. With the vast majority of people doing well with this strain (although feeling like crap) I'm thinking the old way of finding every damn case of Covid likely needs to go to the wayside. We are spending a crap ton of resources finding and treating cases that don't need to be treated or seen officially in a clinic. This will be controversial, but Paxlovid for those with low risk factors and some type of previous immunity is a $500 way to feel better a couple of days faster than you would otherwise. If you are not at high risk, it's not keeping you out of the hospital. You're going to get better anyway. Some absolutely need the medication, but the data shows those with prior immunity and even moderate risk factors do not significantly benefit from Paxlovid.
  5. The CEO of Crowdstrike is exactly who I picture as a sales guy at a Dodge dealership trying to sell an $80K Hellcat to a guy with a 620 credit score and a monthly income of $3500. 120 month note at 12.5%.
  6. Boerne to Kerrville either and throw Canyon Lake in there too.
  7. Sounds exactly like the healthcare industry.
  8. So basically, any random driver in Houston.
  9. This thing carried over to systems integrated with a lot of EMRs so hospital systems were affected as well, but seem to be mostly functional this am.
  10. Bob was a great entertainer. Subtly great at his craft.
  11. Drugs. She was on drugs. Probably benzodiazepines and maybe mixed in some kind of narcotic. Maybe drunk if bac was approaching 0.3.
  12. If $74k+ was a good value then sure, go for it. And there aren’t a lot of non luxury vehicles in the CUV space that are clise to the price of the Polestar 3. The current Polestars hold value like the Cowboys hold a lead.
  13. It better because "starting at" $74K is steep for a non luxury electric CUV. The depreciation on that is going to be painful.
  14. Is there any actual news on how power restoration is going and projected to be, or is everyone going to continue to bitch about judges and grandstanding politicians?
  15. Seems like they could have held them in place until they know where to put them. And I guess the Astros should have had Altuve on a bucket truck resetting transformers instead of running around in the dirt. Or maybe plug a giant extension cord from Minute Maid to the Woodlands. Your mayor has a lack of critical thinking skills. Scary.
  16. Well crap, this thing may do more damage as a land storm than on the coast. Hang in there East Texas.
  17. Finding colon cancer > dying by flood.
  18. Houston downtown got quite a bit of rain yesterday and the downtown bayou/drainage ways were pretty full. Flooding will be at least a concern even if rain and sharknados don’t become a problem.
  19. And hot dusty wind sucked up from Del Rio.
  20. If this hits Brownsville with all that’s going on, y’all know what this means…
  21. Latest recon has it back to a Cat 3. Will have to see how much landfall weakens but it may exit the Yucatán healthier than predicted. Hoping for an unpopulated Mexico landfall with a slow soaker moving into S and C Texas.
  22. The SA and west hill country need rain in a bad way. This could be what is needed. Medina and Canyon are very low. On another note, the webcams of Cozumel and Cancun make Yucatan look like a ghost town but there are a few typical looking American “ride or die” types still in the pools and on the beach.
  23. Some concerns for water pushing into Kingston bay so hopefully that is mitigated as well.
  24. IF, Texas gulf coast becomes a target then the tourists are going to muck up preparations and evacuations. Bad timing (close to 4th of July) if this storm heads to Texas. Still too far out to have a semi-accurate cone.
