  1. Maybe some of it was hype, idk...but what I do know is there was a noticeable difference in accuracy and velocity on many throws after the thumb to the helmet incident. It was downplayed by the coaching staff and even Casey himself throughout the season, I wasnt paying attention to his gooner father or FCB. I can't be as candid as CTJ, but I cosign what he writes and will say, again, the thumb injury was not a significant issue.
  2. That was post blowU game where Casey's thumb was fucked up far more than anyone but he and the coaches knew...and turtle era Hudson Card. I could be wrong, but I think that thumb cost us at least 2-3 wins, defense or no defense. it's actually the opposite. Thompson's thumb injury has taken a life of its own in some spaces on this board and used to justify all kinds of excuses for Thompson's play - with a big assist through Charles Thompson's mouthpiece, Chip Brown. The thumb injury was not that severe, but was a useful crutch to for the Thompson crew to shift blame. QB play definitely cost the team wins, but that was because of a lack of talent/buy in more than a thumb injury.
  3. I don't think "ruthless" would be in the top 50 adjectives I think of when it comes to NoHo Hank. I love this show and the first two seasons bought a lot of trust and patience with me, but the start of the season has really fallen flat to me. It feels like the show has been written into a corner with nowhere to go. The main characters aren't really interacting. Fuchs is in the middle of nowhere. Barry and Sally have rarely been in the same place. Cousineau has spent the bulk of the time in the trunk of the car. The acting class - where so much humor was mined in the first two seasons - has dissolved. There just is not a whole lot of interaction happening with the main characters. There is only so far you can take the Barry holding Cousineau hostage subplot. Something is going to have to resolve, but it is hard seeing that happen and still having the show able to move forward. I appreciate the overarching theme of exploring forgiveness has been introduced, and I'm very much hoping the show can pull it all off.
  4. Remember this scene from the Wire? The public consumption laws are the NCAA rules. The guys drinking on the corner are the players getting paid. NCAA compliance are the police officers and NIL is the paper bag.
  5. believe me, Mike White can't wait for that to happen.
  6. there were about 150 former players on hand for the practice this morning.
  7. Here is referring to this story where Jerry West is demanding a retraction over his portrayal from the Winning Time show on HBO. I suppose he thinks he is funny or clever or whatever.

    Moody Center

I will say, parking was an absolute shit storm. I pre-paid for parking in the Trinity Garage using the link the Moody Center provided. I waited in a super long line to get into the lot, and when we were near the front they closed the garage because it had reached its capacity. Either they were letting in folks who didn't pre-pay, or the pre-pay system didn't keep track of the number of spots available. Hopefully they get all that ironed out.

    Moody Center

It was cool getting to go inside the Moody Center tonight. I was at the ground breaking ceremony they had a few years ago, which feels like forever ago. It is a beautiful venue. I saw it in its concert set up this evening, and it was not hard to visualize how amazing it would be for basketball. Not a bad seat in the house, and - while I am certainly no acoustics expert - the acoustics seemed excellent. There are still some rough spots and some finishing touches that will need to happen, and it seems they are unapologetic about gouging folks on food/drink ($16 for beer). Still, it feels very modern and I hope to be part of a lot of basketball memories there. I snapped a few pics. It seemed like most stuff had been covered by the press yesterday, so my pics aren't really that interesting.
  10. I'd be reluctant to draw any conclusions about Neyor based on what they are saying about Washington. The fact that Washington is supposedly close to Neyor isn't the win for Washington that it might sound like at first. I know that is vague, my apologies. I'd be stunned if Neyor is not widely considered clearly above Washington come fall camp.
  11. Parking is free in the Speedway Garage, 27th St Garage, and East Campus Garage (after the baseball game concludes).

    Moody Center

i’ll be there on Tuesday. I’ll try to post some pics.
  13. I see the bolded finally made it to print. Mitchell took a lot of unfair shots in various threads about his decision to leave the team.
  14. Worthy has his head on straight. He's a kid they match up with knuckleheads to get the knuckleheads on track. Worthy would be more likely to influence Hall than the other way around.
  15. I was hoping this wouldn't happen, but expected it to happen. I can't/won't say much on a public board, but Lattimore needs to figure out if she is serious about her commitment to basketball. Not a good culture fit. I also expect at least one more.
  16. didn't she also do that mime taser bit? It's been a while since I've seen it.
  17. MIT is reinstating the SAT requirement next year.
  18. Vic runs a tough program and it isn't for everyone. There was a lot of drama behind the scenes during the season and I expect some transfers.
