My 2 year old nephew was just diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia three weeks ago and started chemo treatment immediately. At his age they can usually treat it successfully but he’s also got pneumonia. With no immune system that’s what could actually do him in. It’s been rough on the entire family. My 4 year old and 6 month old nieces have been staying with us since he went into the hospital so my sister and BIL can stay with him around the clock. If all goes to plan, he’ll be going home in a week or so but has to continue weekly chemo treatment for the next couple years.
Its crazy how this shit can come out of nowhere and just upend your life and everyone around you. Fuck cancer
Yeah masculine men pretend to be cowboys, load their dog into the truck then sit in their driveway in suburbia and shoot Facebook videos of themselves rambling about topics that appeal to low IQ aggy types. That guy probably goes back into his house after he films his clips, puts on khakis and a polo then goes to work installing DirecTV.
I've been trying to fix a problem with my power washer intermittently losing pressure and needed to run it for awhile to see if I fixed it. Normally she takes her car to the car wash but I told her to just park it in the driveway so I could test the power washer on it. She pulls in at 5pm, sun blazing down on the driveway and wants to wash it now. I told her "bad idea to wash in the sun, you'll end up with water spots and that defies the purpose of doing it. We'll do it after dinner."
"NOPE, I want to do it now. I don't want to wait"
"Whatever, its your car, you get to live with the results."
So power washer shits out after a couple minutes and she has to finish washing with the hose while I pull the POS apart and figure out why its still not working. Her car is 3/4 dry from the sun because shes taking too long to wash each section. I told her to grab the towels I keep for drying my truck and wipe it all down to get rid of the water spots.
"But then I'll have streaks all over the windows. It can air dry."
"FML what do I know about washing cars? I've only hand washed mine for the last 15 years. You're gonna end up with water spots. Make sure you rinse out the bucket and sponge and put it in the garage."
I go out an hour later, the sponge and bucket are not in the garage and have both blown into the flower bed, covered in dirt. I go to rinse them off but instead of neatly hanging the hose up, shes basically tossed it on the hook knotted up like a pretzel. Now I have to untangle her mess so I can clean up her other mess.
Then I get a text this morning that she's going to the car wash on her lunch break because there's "stuff on all the windows." I tell her to wait until tomorrow because we're expecting rain today. She responds that they'll rewash it if it rains within 24 hours.
I didn't even bother explaining to her what a waste of time it would be to take there knowing its going to have to go back tomorrow.
There should be a Yelp app for drivers that’s tied to license renewal. If you drive like an asshole and get bad ratings, the DMV charges you something ridiculous like $2k to renew. Drivers with excellent ratings get free renewal as incentive.
Has anyone ever dealt with a Dallisgrass invasion? It’s all over my side yard. Will Celsius work on it? I’m hoping to avoid Roundup as it seems like I would probably do a lot of damage to the St. Aug growing in.
^True, most TV speakers are shit. They're okay for everyday shows but watching movies on them absolutely sucks. I've never been a fan of soundbars but with your situation that may be the way to go until the kids grow out of their random shit destruction phase. If you go with a sound bar you wont need a receiver as they usually power themselves.
You can get 4k content from Netflix (have to upgrade your plan), Amazon has a limited selection, and AppleTV has a ton of movies you can rent/download (got to have AppleTV 4K though). There's also 4K Blu-rays.
As for smart TVs, someone already mentioned it but its worth reiterating that the LG OLEDs have amazing picture quality but you're paying for it. I use a Harmony remote with mine so I don't think the TV can hear anything since it's mic is in the remote that came with it and that sits in a drawer with no batteries.
Pretty sure just as many people watch WWE Smackdown as watch Hannity or Maddow. I'd hardly describe either one as slaying it.
That being said, congrats to Maddow, that young man has worked hard
