  1. More like a shakedown cruise in preparation for August 30th.
  2. I was checking out some rosters for the upcoming season and I came across Arizona State's two-deep on OurLads. If you needed any further proof of what college football's become, after NIL and the Transfer Portal have taken hold, look at A-State's projected starting 22. Nineteen of the 22 are transfers, NINETEEN. Jesus H. Christ.
  3. You're apparently unfamiliar with the venerable Indian tradition of naming a newborn after the first thing the father sees upon exiting the teepee following his child's birth. In this case, the father obviously saw a bright blue sky with seven fluffy white clouds floating overhead. But why do you ask, little Two Dogs Fucking In The Mud?
  4. Yeah, Media Days changed so many thing on so many squads, we needed a new list.
  5. Yeah, they even have their own special bus--'course, it's shorter than the normal ones . . .
  6. Isn't there an Insufferability Clause that could be invoked? If not, I suggest the adoption of the following amendment to the SEC Constitution: Article 3.1 of the Constitution of the Southeastern Conference shall be amended by adding a new Subsection 3.1.4 (a), to read as follows: “(a) Insufferability. Any Member who exhibits a continued pattern of offensive behavior so obnoxious in nature as to bring discredit upon other conference members solely by virtue of their association with the offending member shall be subject to suspension of its membership for a specified term, or irrevocable termination of its membership in the conference. A majority vote of the Chief Executive Officers shall be sufficient to sustain the suspension or termination of the offending member.”
  7. My lifelong credo: "Sometimes wrong, but never in doubt."
  8. Threatening to go back to College Station? To the aggys? That's some can't-miss aggy leverage, right there.
  9. Pryor wasn't freebasing; he was only mixing low-fat milk with pasteurized when the shit blew up. He made me promise not to tell anybody, but . . .
  10. Yeah, but looks aren't everything.
  11. Reddy Kilowatt on the helmet is great.
  12. Tennessee needs a QB. Vol booster: "Hey, Jake, come on down. We got smart coeds that'll help you soak up knowledge."
  13. Tom Herman blew the Brockermeyers? Well, that explains a lot of things--uh, NTTAWWT . . .
  14. "The NCAA granted Dykes immunity after he complied with an investigation during his recruitment process. This allowed the NCAA to detail a reported bidding war between OSU, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Illinois, which OSU won by reportedly paying Dykes $23,000." My grandfather is a proud member of the Star Lake Spit 'n Whittle Club. He joins the other old-timers in their bib overalls, sitting on the benches around the courthouse talking about how the kids today got no respect. They relive the good ol' days, back when gasoline was 39 cents a gallon, a good hamburger cost twenty-five cents, and you could buy a first-round draft pick for $23,000.
  15. Cartoon aside, I'm kind of glad to see this. I always thought this guy was pretty effective. Wouldn't hurt my feelings when he leaves to see ou fall into less competent hands.
  16. . . . and how pathologically fixated on Big Brother our perseveration is.
  17. If we wait a couple more, we can count Elko's.
  18. Pick one. (hint: either works just fine, but option three probably fits best)
  19. I played for Glenn "Pop" Warner at Cornell in 1906. Obviously we ran the single wing. The forward pass was also legalized that year, but we stuck steadfastly to good 'ol Student Body Right. Unfortunately, the flying wedge had been outlawed on kickoffs back in 1894 and was no longer available to us. John Heisman's first trophy wasn't awarded until 1935; shame I couldn't have stuck around long enough for that. Timing is everything, I guess. Damn, I love these strolls down memory lane.
  20. Who is this Jaggy Mickjagger'sson of whom you speak? I was not aware that Mick had a son named Jaggy, but he's got 8 kids, so I guess it's not totally outside the realm of possibility.
  21. Sorry, but Barbara Billinglsy is no longer with us. Pity.
  22. Hmmmm, "branding." Is that what they're calling it these days?
