  1. Or you could just be a weatherman--get paid a lot of jack for being right about 30% of the time. Maybe.
  2. Don't forget Craig Curry in the '84 Cotton Bowl. Like Gideon, another MNC pissed away.
  3. And the clear winner is "Ride Of The Valkyries." Crank it up to 11 comin' out of the tunnel.
  4. Tubberville? I'd almost forgotten that one until Yormark reminded us that he won it while he was at Tech.
  5. I missed that quote. And, God, I'm embarrassed that I even know who this little bastard is.
  6. Tuesday was the day Cal insiders were told to look for a potential vote... we'll see
  7. I thought Armybrat might post Roy Zimmerman, Phil-Pit Steagles. (Look it up, assholes; it'll be worth it).
  8. Early line has the Cowboys getting a point and a half.
  9. Yes, but what's the medical term for a female-to-male sex change operation?
  10. The hottest I can remember was Rout 66, in the east stands. Left as soon as it became uncompetitive, which, as I recall was about the middle of the second quarter. Handwriting was on the wall, sunburn was on my face, which you couldn't see because of the mortification. Gave my tix away and took the rest of the year off, as it was plain Mackovic had us well on the way to a shit season, in which we ended up 4-7 overall; 2-6 in conference. Ah, but Arizona proved to be an even greater fool than we--they hired Mackovic and he went 10-18 and was fired midway through his third season there. The good old days aren't always the good old days, know what I mean?
  11. The football equivalent of Ebby Calvin LaLoosh: "Million dollar arm; five-cent head."
  12. "a poverty program like OU" Ain't it wonderful to say that? Goddam!
  13. The aggy idiot (is that redundant?) who tried the ill-fated lateral was John Brotherton of Mineola. Played against him. Bad dude. Lots of muscle. Most of it between his ears. Obviously.
  14. They're big humans running into each other at speed--classic application of the impulse-momentum formula. You can't bubble-wrap 'em; some of the above has to be expected. All we can hope for is that it's kept to a minimum and that truly key personnel are spared.
