  1. Condolences and prayers for strength you and your family....
  2. TwiceHorn, really & truly, that is greatly appreciated! I was actually going to tag you because, although definitely not a Shaggy 1%er, I have always been a car fan and really enjoy following the new car fanatic thread (and your posts). Once I saw that you had previously posted in this thread, I figured/was hoping you would see it. All of that (ok, let me be honest/generous and say 50%) makes sense to me--I was mostly worried about attempting/completing the install and it creating more complications down the line (it seems like with the Ecoboosts it can almost be a craps game regarding catastrophic failures). It sounds like maybe switching to Premium fuel (Dear Lord is that going to be a conversation with my price-sensitive wife) and full synthetic might be worth trying to keep things as clean as possible? Good/bad, we won't be driving this a ton, but would like it to last a few years for the regular "around town" trips for which it was acquired. Appreciate all the information!
  3. So, I'm almost scared to post this (out of superstition that the engine just suddenly blows up), but I respect the collective knowledge of the Shag/Surl so much, here goes.... A couple of months ago, the wife* and I purchased a well-used 2012 F150 (170k miles, Platinum Ecoboost 4x4), primarily just to haul our dogs over to the in-laws and for those rare times we need a truck. We (ok, me) have already made a few upgrades--some warranted (tonneau cover), some not (wheels/tires, MBRP exhaust). After doing some research, it looks like instead of doing the exhaust (and S&B intake), I should have started with an oil catch can(s)? Any thoughts from the collective wisdom here--would it be worth it to install an oil catch can/separator now at 170k (I was looking at the Mishimoto dual set-up)? And I am DEFINITELY no mechanic, but if so, it looks like it is just a couple of hoses and the can installation--is it worth trying to do myself (I have already handled a couple of smaller upgrades/items (not the intake or exhaust, though)). In doing another search, it looks like a couple of people on here have experience with them, so thought I would ask. *And just to show that despite the low post count, I've been around a while, no, I can't just have my husband take care of it and report back...
  4. Well, f it, I haven’t posted around these parts in a while = seems like a good place to jump back in.....
  5. I'm with DaysOff--a Rumble sighting = shit's really starting to look up around here!!!...
  6. Currently* working for me: http://www.livetotal.tv/c/football/england-premier-league/14-09-2020/brighton-hove-vs-chelsea/1/ *Note: I keep AdBlock and Avast running at all times (as much as a computer illiterate such as myself can do to prevent computer AIDS) = YMMV re: popups/viruses
  7. Over 12 hours and 10+ replies without one suggestion to have the husband check it? Surly is slipping...
  8. Am I the only one that had to double check which forum this thread was in before clicking on it? But yes, that looks outstanding!
  9. I gave this a thought for a couple of minutes this morning and came up with....abso-f***ing-lutely nothing? In fact, it occurred to me that on my last trip back up to the area, we hustled to get from Ohio to Illinois (granted, we were going to Chicago), but in retrospect, Indiana seemed so inspirational I couldn't wait to drive across cornfields. To be somewhat helpful, a quick Google search indicates "Beef or Chicken and noodles" is a possibility, but appears to be as creative as the name implies (think Hamburger Helper noodle version). It should be pretty basic if you do try something like that anywhere, so (hopefully) the kids will at least give it a go. Hope things keep going well! Edit: Not trying to disparage the great state of Indiana...just can't think of much food wise that is "unique"...
  10. That's good to hear--up until the Monday before everything closed, I was one of the few that wiped down after using every machine/bench (and nothing crazy, but definitely did it). For 2 days, it was pretty funny to see everyone else doing it. Haven't had the opportunity to check post-reopening (24s still closed, not sure Planet is worth the trip just yet), but will be interested to see if anything has changed....
  11. https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/04/us/mcmichaels-hearing-ahmaud-arbery/index.html Yeah, I think we're done here. Any hope any of them had evaporated when they found proof that Arbery had been struck by Bryan's truck. One would hope they would spare everyone the pain of a trial, but we know that won't happen.
  12. If I had to make odds: Was a football player or wrestler in high school: -200 Has had jiu jitsu training in the past 2 years: -110 None of the above: +1000
  13. This thread has taken a (couple) fascinating turns--I didn't know about the Austin connections for Adams, but after reading the posts was thinking that it reminded me of the the Mike Judge movie "Extract", and sure enough, that was part of the inspiration (apologies in advance if that was previously discussed on the old site). And ditto on Tillamook--haven't had their regular ice cream, but their ice cream sandwiches and cheeses are awesome. Oh, and to stay on topic, for some unbeknownst reason randomly had some Blue Bell "homemade" vanilla in the freezer and made the mistake of eating some earlier this week--I promptly got sick and after throwing the rest of it out am now fully on board the "f those guys" bandwagon....
  14. That's awesome, man! Hope y'all are staying well... As for the actual games, I have almost been avoiding the coverage because I keep expecting something to come up that prevents it from happening. And if it does, I can't wait for the look on my wife's face when every tv in the house is on a Bundesliga game on Saturday morning at 8:30....
  15. Doesn't look like it (primarily just Iowa, with other locations sprinkled throughout the midwest). For some reason, I thought they were more prevalent in Ohio (where I had family), but maybe those were similar "knock-offs". I would think Austin would have had at least 1 place that served something similar, maybe? If I ever get "redlined" from a housing perspective, I hope my residence is in the Bacon Perfection zone....
  16. All this made me ponder how one would describe the infamous "Maid-Rites". Turns out (per their website) they self-identify as a "loose meat, fresh ground beef sandwich". Yeah, yeah, South Austin's mom, yada, yada, yada...
  17. Ha! It's only showing up once on mine, but wouldn't doubt it--it took me wayyyyy too long to figure out how to correctly quote both posts. I mean, we've only been doing this for 20+ years, right? (in today's sobering reminder of how old some of us are getting).....
  18. Liked and quoted because it got stuck at the bottom of the last page. I would say username and whatnot, but you didn't say "scared to death"....
  19. J-O-D-Y..J-O-D-Y...J-O-D-Y Davissss. Damn, we're getting old...
  20. Seems like, something, something, would say....
  21. I want you to think about what you've done, Kent, and from now on...stop playing with yourself.
  22. For any that decide to jump in and pick Dortmund due to American players/whatever, prepare to be kicked in the dick repeatedly by Bayern...sincerely, BVB
  23. Nah, the site just took a short nap on the side of the road for a couple of hours near Bruceville-Eddy...
