  1. From one of my favorite movies of all time, this scene is spectacular. Of course this one is awesome And of course this
  2. This is a poster who needs to take his own user name.
  3. I have a hard time believing Jacoby was pushed out due to lack of effort. I’m just going to go ahead and say that everything they just said is bullshit.
  4. I was a dedicated Tapa user for many years. I resisted the surly mobile site because the navigation seemed difficult and lacked key features. When Tapa really started sucking a few years ago and tried to double charge for their app, I said eff em and started using the surly mobile site. I’m now used to it and it’s just fine. I can do everything I need to do. You just have to get used to it. Stop being bent over by Tapatalk like Beau Bridges in Deliverence and just switch. You’ll feel better by not being such a pussy.
  5. I’d be interested to know the staff’s thinking around getting a QB with good mobility. They’ve not made it a priority to date but in college football that extra weapon can be important.
  6. I woke up this morning and realized that the Republican party is not advocating for any single program, idea, or bill that’s good for America. Can anyone think of one single example? Immigration reform theoretically was one, but we’ve all seen what happened there. It really is amazing how worthless that party has become.
  7. 1. Tim Duncan 2. George Gervin 3. David Robinson 4. Manu Ginobli 5. Tony Parker 6. Kawhi Leonard 7. Sean Elliott 8. James Silas 9. Larry Kenon 10. Bruce Bowen
  8. I would like to see football graduation rates divided by non-football graduation rates. That’s would provide some visibility into the overall rigor of the school’s academics.
  9. Yes but we need one who isn’t also on the verge of being indicted for sex crimes.
  10. No, it wasn’t the life insurance. The issue is that you told a poster that 3 years of cash reserves is all you have to do to never run out of money, but you provided no other context. You left that person believing that’s all there is to it. It is not all there is to it and you’ve never once admitted that you were misleading or incomplete in your advice. And just when the question arises of whether you could be trusted, you promoted insurance, which more often than not is not a good choice for many people.

    Getting old sucks

I was driving out of The Domain and accidentally turned on my windshield wipers….I couldn’t remember how to turn them off….I’ve had this car for 9 years. WTF?
  12. I just can’t read this thread anymore because it reminds me over and over that there are so many dumb people out there.
  13. Yes, we were shocked. It’s a little hard to find because I guess the rest of the world thinks it probably stinks.
  14. Why in the world do you have these low expectations. If you think the roster is bad, who do you think is responsible for that roster? Between the NIL commitments and the recent momentum of the program there is ZERO reason why the team should be this bad. Terry is a disaster.
  15. His manager is the trustee for his trust? Oh sure, nothing suspicious about that at all.
  16. The homeless problem is yet another example of Normalization of Deviance. People don’t solve problems they know are problems. They just begin to accept the problems as the new normal. Terrible.
  17. So, as a coffee snob addict, I had stepped away from my coffee preparation obsession for the last few years because it was getting out of control. I bought a decent quality pour over electric Cuisinart coffee maker, stopped grinding and went with McDonalds already ground coffee (actually good), and filtered water from the fridge. I stowed the chemex, French press, metal filters, and other equipment. It worked pretty well for a few years. Occasionally we would have a spectacular cup of coffee, believe it or not, but most often just a good enough cup. Never a bad cup of coffee, which was our goal. So it worked. Low effort. Low cost. Good enough. Well, now I’m obsessed with trying to figure out why we sometimes get a great cup of coffee and sometimes don’t. It seems like a tiny tiny difference in grounds used makes a massive difference. That, or the water temp in the cuisinart is on the fritz. Or the water. Or the freshness of the grounds, or….
  18. I do think a lot of companies roll out increases in January. So the key is for the fed action to stop the continued circle of increases that is currently happening. Unfortunately I bet they can only do that with a pretty hard landing.
  19. Maybe, but I’ve wondered about the opposite scenario. Airlines, healthcare, manufacturing, etc all have to keep raising pay, and productivity improvements are tougher to achieve in services vs goods. AI will help a bit.
  20. Under the assumptions you just listed, then there’s very likely no issue at all, because withdrawing only 2-3% gives them a lot of cushion. And the models validate that. That’s exactly my point. Save up 3 years of cash but withdraw 6% every year and you might or might not make it, depending upon the markets over that time period, and inflation. It’s math.
