They played their asses off and gave maximum effort tonight. They couldn't hit shots, the refs didn't help, and Golden State is really fucking good. It's really that simple. We need to get healthy, lick our wounds, and give it a shot again next year before the window closes. The team is right on the cusp. The Paul injury just makes it a really bitter pill to swallow. This one sucks...

    All of this.

  2. Less than 4 million total people in the 16 states that made up the US in 1790 census. 700k of those were slaves. Only 800k of those were free white males above the age of 16.  NYC population was 33k.

Current US population: over 325 million.

  3. D'Antoni said Luc will now get minutes in Game 6.  That's a good call.  The best shot for the Rockets to win Game 6 is to keep the defensive intensity and hope Harden/Gordon shoot lights out.

Also fitting--and completely expected--that in the biggest moments of the most important game of the season when Golden State is desperate for another shooter, Quinn Cook is more trusted than Nick Young.  What a great use of that MLE money.

Really strange. Feels like Nick Young has consistently shot well vs. the Rockets team too. Kerr's rotations have always been puzzling.

  5. If CP3 is out for Game 6, then D'Antoni obviously has to find at least one other player he trusts to get real minutes.  Is it Luc, RA, Nene, Joe Johnson?

I hope we go out there and continue to launch a ton of 3s. We're due to get hot and we can play pretty loose offensively.

If the game is close at halftime, Rockets need to go for the jugular. The pressure on GS will be immense and very possible to sneak out of Oracle with another win.

If GS catches fire and is up 15-20 at halftime, I'd almost prefer for us to concede the game at that point. Get the bench players out there and rest up for Game 7. Clearly a blowout loss has no effect on this team's psyche.

What action is he supposed to take?

Because going against Trump as a Republican doesn’t seem like a good political decision.

Y’all hate anyone with an R next their name.

You’re becoming exactly everything you hate about the Trumpkins.

I thought you were better than this.  Come on, man.

You can disagree with him on policy and still like him for standing up for American principles.  It’s okay to do that.

    Why don’t people get this?!?

Because actions speak louder than words. And he's a fucking politician. He seems like an opportunist, nothing more.

I think they look ridiculous for taking a victory lap. Trump threw gas on the fire, but it was already burning.

It's not a victory lap. They are taking credit.  And they will brag about it on the campaign trail.

I think you’re giving Trump too much credit on this matter. The NFL cares about money and they were terrified of alienating a large portion of their fanbase.

The main reason NFL fans are upset about the kneeling is because of DONALD FUCKING TRUMP.  If Dotard said these athletes had the right to protest, most of the anger would dissipate. He and Pence are directly responsible.

I mean, look at these fucking goons.

  10. Hope all of y'all that still attend NFL games RESPECT THE FLAG during the anthem.  Don't talk, sit down, or do anything that someone else will find disrespectful while the anthem is being sung.  Because some other fan will call you out on it.  Trump/Pence have instilled and celebrated this authoritarian attitude, and it will have an effect in the stands as well.

Would you be okay if it was pro life players protesting abortion on the field and in uniform and the nfl stopped that?  Or do you think they should be allowed to protest whatever cause they want while in uniform and on the field?

They can protest whatever the fuck they want. I would just choose not to watch or support.

  12. I think endurance/energy will be a factor for the rest of this series.  Good news for Houston: 1. We play at home tomorrow so crowd should energize the players 2. If both teams are dead-legged late, we should win the war of ISO ball on offense/defense if GS falls into that trap again.

i'm also giving luc and maybe even ryno a couple of early minutes to see if either one of them can get going early.  it's gonna be hard to win this series playing 6.5 guys.

100% agree. They need to throw Luc out there for 2-3 minutes in the first half. If he's effective, give him a little more run. If not, bench him. But I don't want to walk into game 5 and D'Antoni has already decided to only play 7 guys.

  14. If you told me Steph Curry played 43 minutes in Game 5, I'd be happy as a Rockets fan.  It's means the game is very competitive, and there's a better chance of him wearing down in the clutch.

We'll see how the series plays out. Kerr's long game could very well work out in terms of conserving legs, but I think D'antoni stole this game simply by playing his best players more minutes.

CP3 42 minutes, Harden 43 minutes, Tucker 44 minutes, and Ariza 41 minutes. Curry and Thompson both at 39 minutes. Granted, Thompson had the injury issue.

Those 3 to 4 less minutes with Curry on the floor in comparison to CP3 and Harden was likely the difference in this game. Curry needs to be playing 42 to 43 minutes in these type games. Bottom line is Curry doesn't need 9 minutes of rest in a series like this. Your best players have to play.

    1. Curry is coming off of a knee injury

    2. He runs all over the court on offense and tires more easily

    3. Rockets are making him work HARD defensively

    4. He's clearly no specimen. Physical play wears him down.

    5. He hasn't played 42+ minutes in a playoff game since 2014-2015

Warriors were disgusting on offense that 4th quarter, especially at the end. The fuck were they doing?

Combination of great defense and garbage ball movement.  They have trouble in ugly & physical games.
