  1. The midterms are too far away. Trump and his cronies are moving at a lightning pace to fully take over this country. Schumer and Jeffries cannot be the faces of the Party right now. Two bozos that are deeply embedded in the old rules and decorum of American politics. If they actually care about this country they would cede their power and allow some fresh faces to do the work needed to fight the Trump administration. People who will challenge Trump like there's nothing to lose. That said, I don't see Dems being able to move the needle enough. This will be on us. The people have to do the dirty work to fight off authoritarianism.
  2. There's so much misinformation/disinformation online, we've all probably made the mistake of posting something that wasn't true. The blaring alarm here is that most Trumpers never acknowledge it or apologize for it. If I got duped and posted something false, I would immediately own up to the mistake if called out. People on the right rarely do. None of this is actually about the truth to them. I'm more disheartened by the actions of regular people than the traitors running the country.
  3. The Padilla situation is a good test for the party. So far Dem politicians are just tweeting their disgust on social media. Are they gonna just talk or do something?

  5. Senator Alex Padilla is forcibly removed from Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem's press conference in LA. "Hands off!," Padilla can be heard yelling. ssstwitter.com_1749752853505.mp4
  6. Take a bow, JJ Spaun. What a round. Bogey free.
  7. LIBS HAVE BEEN SEEDING CLOUDZ!!!!
  8. Just looked up that tweet. It's from July 31, 2024.
  9. They'll probably be lightning fast for the rest of the tournament in a few hours.
  10. Conditions are good at the moment, so it's funny hearing the commentators in this Aberg/Hideki/Scott grouping keep saying "that ball's gone" but they end up holding on the green.
  11. Austinites can summon robotaxis to burn to the ground at protests starting as early as June 22nd?
  12. I love how the Trump administration does something Ana doesn't like and he directs his anger at us.
  13. Season 2, Episode 18 - "NY or LA" Great season finale. A new company buys the network and jeopardizes the future of the show. Larry contemplates going to ABC and moving to NY, which infuriates the staff and crew. Fed up with everything, he decides to quit on air and moves to Montana. Howard Stern and Chris Farley guest star.
  14. Just watched Season 2, Episode 17 where Hank has a nervous breakdown as his Look Around Cafe is about to have its grand opening. Burt Reynolds guest stars in this episode and it reminded me of a story that Peter Tolan, one of the main writers/directors of The Larry Sanders Show, told about Burt in an interview years ago. Tolan said Burt came to work on The Larry Sanders Show in a really bad mood, just pissy the entire day of shooting. At one point, Burt starts trashing a set piece and storms off into his trailer. All of the crew were stunned and like "WTF?", but also too intimidated to confront him. Some low level associate produce was willing to go to Burt's trailer and knocked on his door. He went into the trailer and Burt was sitting in a chair in the dark with his head in his hands. The first thing he said was, "I was the #1 box office movie star from 1972 to 1976." Tolan said it was fitting because a big theme of The Larry Sanders show is how cruel and tough it is to work in Hollywood.
  15. A lot of truth to this. On the English side of my family, I have relatives that are very working class; my cousin is a hairdresser, her husband a black cab driver (his dad was a black cab driver, his uncle is Alan Ford, the actor that played Brick Top in Snatch, haha awesome). My cousin and her family left London for the cheaper deserts of Spain probably 25 years ago. Her husband always bitched about all the immigrants/crime in the UK, kind of a Trumper before it was cool. Love the guy, but I think they were just sick of barely getting by in London.
  16. Interesting, thanks for sharing. In the ability for many to self-reflect is a huge problem. And this supports my completely unresearched cuckoo theory that having/not having an inner monologue might be the simplest answer for why people feel so disconnected from each other.
  17. There's a point when it stops being about the money and starts being about power.
  18. I don't know why it's not talked about more, but I'm so fucking sick and tired of NY politicians and the spotlight they get politically. The Cuomos, Eric Adams, Chuck Schumer, Jeffries, TRUMP, Giuliani, Hillary, De Blasio, Bloomberg, etc. Fucking enough. NYC is a wonderful and dynamic city. But can we please stop treating it like the face of the USA? It resembles none of the rest of America. And they are really shitty at electing politicians.
  19. Or just watch out for Rittenhouse himself.
  20. The most sacred and sensitive issue for all of these dumbfucks is their Trump vote. The only thing they can't admit was wrong. What a world.
  21. ssstwitter.com_1749663767703.mp4 Trump supporter who had 6 roofers detained by ICE is asked if he has any buyer's remorse, and answers "I don't know, a little bit" but then is almost reduced to tears at the end.
  22. Critical thinking and reasoning is dead with half this country. Strategize accordingly.
