  1. I'm am prepared to be disappointed in both turnout and results. I'm already disappointed honestly. When only white males are allowed to vote I'll try and fight the good fight. Although by the time that happens they will have archived this reply and I'll most likely be out too.
  2. If the fed does anything besides a 75 point hike and sound hawkish at the news conference, we are going to have a big day. If biden had jpows ear and they do a 50 point hike and say inflation is starting to show signs of slowing I may sell and be all cash by the end of the day.
  3. Voted yesterday. No line. Was happy to see every race but one with a dem on the ticket. I also told everyone at work to vote early and just let me know if they were going to be late or need to leave early. Hopefully they will.
  4. None of you can ever run for public office.
  5. More and more I am coming to the conclusion people need and want to be controlled. Breaks my heart. I grew up with such a different outlook.
  6. This thread has been up for 11 hours with no mention of Ines Sainz. For shame.
  7. Market shrugging off everything. It wants the 200 day moving average.
  8. I used to work at a VA and I've seen some government contracts. 300k to dig out a well seems about right.
  9. Maybe they say they are part of the 10% of financial advisors who beat the s and p? For me I agree. I just put my money in spy.
  10. Would be cool if Vegas announced a 4 point adjustment to all future conference game spreads going against OU USC UCLA and Texas due to internal officiating biases they have found.
  11. The election is Nov 8th. Next fed meeting is Nov 1-2. Early voting has started in parts of the US. My gut tells me fed talk will be more subdued until after the election. There is probably some not so subtle conversations going on from the admin to the fed and why wouldn't they. Being wrong on this will not be great for my portfolio but thats where my mind is. Regardless I am taking profits again if the market approaches the 200 day moving average as that is where the summer rally fizzled and my personal opinion is this is another bear market rally we have started. I'm still on the don't fight the fed bandwagon. And sitting on the sidelines in any capacity will now be netting you 4-5% over the next year. Just to rant, I'm still pissed at reading for decades how a 60/40 portfolio stocks and bonds is a nice hedge for a downtown. The bond funds I had in my 401k were down 9% when I moved that portion back into stocks. Never again. Going forward I am either stocks or cash for the rest of my life. There will be no bonds in my portfolio. Why would I if I view that percent of my retirement as conservative. Full disclosure I was 80/20 when I made the move. Everyone who pushes bonds can get fucked. What is their use?
  12. There were never going to be many winners in 2022 and probably not many in 2023. It's all about your portfolio surviving right now as small caps are the first to go in downturns. You could throw a dart and pick a winner in the last half of 2020 and all of 2021. We are paying for that now.
  13. As long as you don't need that $86 then yes
  14. I have been reading about the 73-74 bear market and so far this market is following it pretty close. If it continues this will be the last bounce up to around the 200 day moving average... Actually higher if you follow it exactly and then the recession hits early next year and we reach new lows. It's pretty uncanny actually. And really today makes sense because this was going to be the last worst news in terms of year over year inflation being around 8%. Nov reading in 2021 is when inflation went off the rails. Add in that we traditionally have a Santa rally and yea my bet would be we go to spy 415-430 over the next 2 months then either we get a recession and drop to spy 300ish or we don't have a recession and then who the fuck knows where we go. I'm really curious to see if my 9 months of following the market closely has taught me anything. And yes I put my money where my mouth is and got in a decent chunk of cash at around spy 355.
  15. This seems about right. Classic trap game. Coming off an all time beat down to ou and looking ahead to Okst.
