  1. We celebrated the eight day anniversary of getting shot #2 of Pfizer by eating lunch indoors at a favorite restaurant. First time since this shit started. They are never busy at lunch and still require masks unless you are seated at your table. What a treat to have an almost normal dining experience. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  4. “He didn’t use the phrase for a song title until a year later, but Astral Weeks was the album on which Van Morrison fully descended “into the mystic.” Morrison’s first full-fledged solo album sounded like nothing else in the pop-music world of 1968: soft, reflective, hypnotic, haunted by the ghosts of old blues singers and ancient Celts and performed by a group of extraordinary jazz musicians, it sounds like the work of a singer and songwriter who is, as Morrison sings in the title track, “nothing but a stranger in this world.” Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Yup. Several places I once frequented are already out of the rotation because they were lax about mask requirements. To me this means: )1 They don’t really care about their employees )2 They don’t really care about their customers Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. Less Risk, More Reward The shift in focus from the United States to Europe was a no-brainer for international drug traffickers, especially those in Colombia. Traffickers face enormous risks in moving drugs to the United States, whose government has spent billions of dollars on seizing drug loads and extraditing traffickers, said InSight Crime Co-director Jeremy McDermott. As a result, Colombian traffickers have come to prefer lucrative European markets. “A kilogram of cocaine is worth $28,000 wholesale in the United States. That same kilogram in Europe fetches around $40,000 with much less risk,” said McDermott. https://insightcrime.org/news/latam-europe-cocaine-market/ Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  8. Oh wow forgot about them. Saw them at The Arcadia in Dallas on Valentines Day ‘86. Crazy show. Looks like they are playing The Kessler next month. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  16. Scheduled for the 24th in Collin County and received this yesterday: “Dear Vaccine Recipient: Your second vaccine dose will be here next week; however, an exact delivery date is not known. The recent, historic winter storms may delay shipping. Once we receive an anticipated shipment date, you will receive another email with specific details related to your appointment for your second vaccine. Thank you for your patience and understanding.” Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  22. Actually Manilla was pretty fierce urban combat. The Luzon liberation was one of the largest bloodiest battles of the war. Yamashita actually sent most of his troops to Northern Luzon where they spent months rooting them out. It did have some good Hollywood storylines. McArthur returns and his opposing General, Yamashita was executed for war crimes in an historic case. It is also rumored he left a treasure in gold hidden in caves in Northern Luzon. 23. Once the beach landing is done lots of Pacific battles weren’t as cinematic as Europe. Months of digging enemy soldiers out of caves in the middle of the jungle is not as romantic as liberating Paris. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
