  1. Against my better judgment, I’ll most likely be here barring any unforeseen circumstances.
  2. That’s your opinion and you’re certainly entitled to it. Also, I appreciate you articulating your opinion in a constructive way, thank you for that. Extensive NIMS and ICS training and certification are required of any entity receiving federal funds and also what helps make interoperability between departments possible; so I’ll disagree that at the operations level FEMA is needed for that. I’ll own that I was a bit too vague about not being needed beyond their checkbook. They do have a purpose and do help, but it’s been my firsthand experiences that they greatly complicate and convolute things in the initial action phase of an incident. Once incident stabilization has been achieved is where I feel they’re better suited. This has been an issue that transcends whatever political party is running the White House. In fact, my biggest frustrations came from incidents that occurred under the post-Obama regime and pre-Biden.
  3. The poster y’all keep quoting is a known fuckhead idiot. You won’t change his mind and you won’t shame him into correcting his behavior. Put him on ignore and let him talk to himself
  4. The only thing FEMA is good for is their checkbook. They complicate the fuck out of everything and make getting things done 10x harder than they have to be.
  5. I’m not convinced that Burger isn’t legally blind. Hot damn look at fat boy run!
  6. Goddamn someone punch Bacsik in the mouth so he’ll shut up
  7. How old are you? Ever considered or been told you’re at risk for gout? Alcohol can greatly increase uric acid levels, and typically the first places to show issues are feet/ankles.
  8. Your ability to jinx the everloving fuck out of our morons is truly remarkable
  9. Wyatt working this one hard. Very nice
  10. Glad you made it safely.
  11. Did you make your trek with the grandkids today? If so, how was it?
  12. It never is until they’re the dead we’re looking for. I’ve been doing this for almost 14 years. I stepped away from the task force in ‘22 after 9 deployments; 7 with TF-2 and 2 with a TIFMAS backed EMTF to Moore and the panhandle. I was in Houston for 23 days during Harvey. I have coworkers that recall finding bodies in Wimberley by the smell and presence of flies. I don’t make my comments from a position of safety from behind a keyboard on dry land, but from a position of considerable experience. It’s
  13. I’m sure they’re fine people, but the arrogance of doing that and potentially putting first responders at risk simply because you wanted to get your jollies off is peak ‘Merica. Not to mention having to allocate resources and efforts away from the current issues to address a 100% avoidable problem they created via selfish behavior.
  14. That entire county is under a TFR. When you violate a TFR you ground all other aircraft in the area (SAR and med flights). Violation of a TFR is a federal crime. Maybe our government could make themselves useful and prosecute these selfish pricks….
  15. DFW Krogers have choice brisket for $2.99/lb thru Tuesday with your Kroger card. Appears a bunch of Kroger stores in the Houston area have them for $1.99/lb
  16. Ballinger to Brownwood to Lampasas, but that leaves the Liberty Hill and Georgetown areas that have been inundated today left to traverse. I’d recommend y’all find a way to spend another day or two in SA. TIFMAS teams leaving dfw this morning had a very hard trek once they got to Jarrell.
  17. We are a very fucking stupid team. Holy shit
