  1. We found those close wins frustrating because at one point we were dominating all of those games. Going for the first down instead of kicking a field goal gave Houston a big lift. Kick the field goal and they would have been like four scores behind. I don't think any of those games were highly contested throughout. Our problem was not putting guys away. I get the feeling Sark has learned his lesson. Kick. The. Fucking. Field Goal.
  2. It's been in all the news. Here's one satellite image: Deleted because I'm an idiot. I read Gaza where @DDD Dad wrote West Bank.
  3. You'll be shocked to hear that I think you're the one reaching. You have to go outside of what I describe in some cases and in others you ignore what I wrote. One might think you're closely guarding emotional imbalance regarding this subject.
  4. So, let's see. Say my brother were to break into a home and visit unspeakable brutality including rape and mutilation on an innocent family living within. Pictures of that would justify killing me and my family in a full military assault? Say I didn't even know the guy. The same pictures justify my home being bombed and everybody killed as you try to find the monster? The pictures are facts, indeed. Propaganda may not be the right word for them being used to inflame public outrage in order to cloud judgment and confuse other facts. Fact: Hamas attack beyond horrible. Reading the above about the brutality to women victims provokes sickening outrage which is a valid emotional response. Fact: Israel has every right to pursue Hamas and, to a limited extent, err on the side of thoroughness. Fact: Israel's use of high explosive bombs in thousands of airstrikes prior to the invasion killed thousands and wounded thousands more who had nothing to do with that attack. Fact: Israel has cut off vital supplies to the people of Palestine resulting in deprivation and agony including the necessity for Palestinian physicians to operate on children with no anesthetic. That is an outrage. Fact: Israel continues to carry out a bloody conventional ground assault with air support in an urban area leading to what may be tens of thousands of deaths and making the place uninhabitable. What do I see? A cynical Israeli government using the righteous outrage over the Hamas attack to obliterate the West Bank Gaza. This is similar to the way the W Bush administration kept suggesting that Iraq was somehow involved in 9/11 and had the wherewithal to do even more horrible things. Anger and fear are the basis of the justification of Israel's actions right now. Those actions are gruesomely and grossly out of proportion. Israel can only maintain this campaign so long as they fuel righteous emotions to justify wicked ends. Written with neither rancor nor disrespect. I don't see much of anyone posting here as propagandists.
  5. The Texas one (I didn't even know about it, so I don't have to say ours) worked! Those 472 redass Longhorns made Ewers to Texas happen! Woo-hoo! Hook 'Em! I-35 runs two ways, ya know.
  6. Climate Cataclysm, Climate Crisis, Climate Threat, Climate Disaster, International Climate Emergency, Worldwide Climate Emergency. I hate that editors and talking heads and even reporters are too fucking lazy to look at the way they are wording something and see that it is inapt. Climate Change is safe for them because it's so milky and dull. It's also inaccurate at this point. Somebody needs to yell, SHARK!
  7. Yep. Scrappy losers. Yea, you guys have been on fire since 2009. From @Elmer_Fudd's link: The epitome of Aggie opinion formation: And again regarding DeBoer: More on DeBoer and their chances with him (all speculation, of course) Thank goodness they're not in big trouble. I greened that one phrase for extraordinary eloquence. Vander states an outcome that seems impossible: Shambles? Not worse now that Elko is here? Hold Melko's beer, dumbass.
  8. Y'all have already pounced on that big but. Them plucky fightin' Texas Aggies showed plenty of fight. Trailing by 18 points at halftime...one fumble away. You got two turnovers, so what the fuck are you talking about? OSU was going in to cut your balls completely off when their QB made a horrendous error. Good for you, but how many turnovers do you need? OSU missed a makeable field goal, and you still lost by 8. Upsetting OSU is a big deal? Really? When we crushed them all you could talk about were their horrible losses to UCF and Alabama Directional U. Beating them could not possibly be a good reflection on anybody. Now they're the vaunted Big 12 runner-up. The funny thing is that scraping by OSU would put you in your accustomed place not holding a trophy you didn't create yourself. And get a fucking dictionary. Infested? If you got a degree from Texas, mail it the fuck in. Not the historic 2020 team that would have won the "natty?" if not cheated by the committee who are all on the t-sip payroll? Didn't they show enough passion in each season since then to make y'all think the natty was in reach? It's all Jimbo's fault. Nobody there says they were wrong about Jimbo. Jimbo just stole their money. Thus you get this: That fetid sludge sliding like vomit down the walls of the toilet didn't force its way past the glory holes into the vortex. You hauled it in there. Then you kept feeding it. And then you started drinking it. Don't drink that, it's poison. No! It used to be great! The people that threw it out did so because it's toxic. Who thought you'd buy it for 100 million dollars? You're just jealous. I'll drink this down and finally be great! Suit yourself. OMG! This is poison! This poison has betrayed me! My bowels! My bowels! It's the poison's fault that I'm not great! Sadly, it won't klll you.
  9. I can't imagine he wants to move to another Purdue in College Station. I can imagine the Aggies hyperventilating about their chances.
  10. I think he wears a t-shirt and that same pullover for any engagement he has. It's really flattering to his sloping shoulders. How long will it be until he shows up in pajama pants holding a Big Gulp. You're on TV representing your university, and you can't even manage a collared shirt? He speaks well and seems like a fairly likeable cuss. I can see him having an amiable conversation with a Home Depot worker. The worker explains to Elko for the fourth time that he really shouldn't try to fix his own dishwasher. "Sir, your in over your head on this one. You might get electrocuted, scalded, or all kinds of shit. And you won't be able to make that old dishwasher run any better. It'll most likely get worse." "I'm calling a couple of friends to help." "Do they have experience with this sort of stuff." "Well...some. They're mostly just regular guys. Friends. You know." "Make sure your health and life insurance are up to date. I don't see good things happening, sir." "We'll figure it out. We'll be able to turn it into a brand new shiny machine better than any other machine on the block." "Well, you can find proper clothing for the work on aisle 6. Good luck." "Don't need 'em. Anything you can do with collar and blazer you can do in a t-shirt and sweat top. See you!" "Don't forget to unplug it!" "We got it figured out. I'll find a few more old friends to help and then look out." Sigh.
  11. I think I've identified 6figs over on SEC Rant. I don't know if it's already been surmised or not. I don't go there often but when I went to read a linked thread about Shaggy, I saw the Aggie Game Thread. I'm generally not good at recognizing socks because I don't really care usually. The claims of this guy about his soaring status and earnings just jumped out at me. He mentioned that he was actually in Colorado, and even that sounds like the crafty genius of the Hamm. And here's something I haven't seen since we haven't been playing them: OSU beat OU who beat Texas therefore OSU is a better team than Texas. Let's not talk about the game where they actually played each other. A similar bit of Aggie logic when they lost to us would be to compare scores against common opponents. This could include comparing losses. Nobody has more quality losses than A&M. Nobody. A&M knows quality losses. Anyway, they were always better than us whether they beat us (rare occurence since joining Big 12 in the last century) or not.
  12. And, of course: Another loss with plenty of excuses and a moral victory. Their losses are better than anyone else's losses.
  13. ...defeated. His brave team went 12-13 his last two years at A&M. He looks forward to watching the Sugar Bowl.
  14. The world record for booger weight and was set by an Aggie. It weighed 12 pounds. Sadly, his head collapsed before he could eat it.
  15. Ohh, and how did they try to diminish our conference championship? That's right, OSU sucks. The Cowboys are a joke because they got beat convincingly by UCF and Southern Alabama. Oh, and us. Now, I'm guessing their story will be that they almost beat the runner up in the Big 12 and they would have dominated with Wiggy and the boys.
  16. The below is from the Atlantic, a magazine I subscribe and respect. Naive at best. Disappointing to say the least. Comparing Gaza to our own personal fiasco in Iraq in remarkably inapt. The US at least had a goal in Iraq to depose the leader of an organized nation state in hopes of creating wildfire of liberal democracy in the MidEast. (More cynical reasoning was to allow certain commercial entities to exploit a conquered Iraq while the tight-with-taxpayer-money GOP administration sent billions in cash on pallets with intentionally incompetent accounting services hired to track it...okay, I'll stop.) Oh, and of course, all the WMDs pointed at us. The US intention was not to level every structure in that country. We killed tons of civilians which amounts pretty much to murder in an unworthy cause, but even I won't say we really intended to do that. It was just a consequence of a disastrous policy choice. The top paragraph describing Israels destruction of Gaza as a "war" is frightfully dishonest. It's an obliteration of all shelter and sustenance that would support the indigenous people. It's brutal conquest defended by a bloody attack that responded to a bloody oppressive regime. Israeli leaders aren't wringing their hands in worry of getting bogged down or how they'll make a good end to this. They are attaining their ends. They are Sherman marching to the sea inflicting as much pain and death and damage as they can to completely demoralize and crush the citizen Palestinians of Gaza. Someone asks why should we as Americans care? Anastasis gives a broader answer than I would, but I agree in the important main point: we're attached to this. We've stayed attached to this. We rolled up the carrier and pledged support. We're being incredibly weak and wishy-washy in the face of these atrocities. The silly pearl-clutching in the passage I quote above is part of the problem. We don't need to draw an inapt parallel to make the whole thing appear to be more digestible. It's not chocolate; it's a maggot-infested soggy sticky turd that I don't want in my mouth, on my clothes, or on my hands. The US should only be operating to provide humanitarian assistance to the people Israel is putting to the sword. I would have us announce that intention and give the warning to anyone who might interfere that we would see that as an act of war. Nobody wants to play the slaughter game with us.
  17. I agree with your sentiment, but I'm not ready to use those oppressive shitholes as any kind of standard. Admittedly, we are declining in their direction, and a large bloc of voters are cheering it.
  18. You beat me to it. I think people so detached from even thinking about the best choice for the future of the republic would be the type more easily moved by blunt emotion and lies rather than even the simplest arguments. It's a hell of note.
  19. There was a great TV Special on Trump and his bad intentions. I can't remember the name of it but it aired all afternoon on Jan. 6 2021. Nobody could watch that show and vote for Donald Trump ever again! The special was that powerful.
