  1. The above is from the Athletic. Thanks, TexasRenegage. Did Billy write this or just one of his subscribers? Fisher admired A&M and why not? Unparalleled fan support not to mention that fan base's ability and inclination to self-felate wherever two or more are gathered in its blain. Fisher admired and loved A&M so much that he and his agent bent them over a barrel and made sweet love to A&M with barbed phallus and endless pleasure. A&M didn't pay or hire Fisher to 10-year contract, no!, they gave freely of themselves to their friend and bossom companion. Then they were betrayed by this man whom nobody would have guessed might be a dickhead. So the next guy will have to live on Aggie love and the most talented roster and unparalleled fan support and earn his paycheck by fulfilling their absurdly gradiose and delusional dreams.
  2. Elegant, articulate, definitive...almost brings tears to your eyes. This man is earning his money. Perception! A lot of people missed this. They wouldn't have even been smart enough to realize the need for perceiving what a football score really means deep down. Of course, it's all interpretation. Some likely perceive the "slipping away" as victory if the opponent is good enough. Those are the true Aggie geniuses. This is what A&M wants the new head coach is going to have to do! This man gets a paycheck for such perceptive, interpretive, and literary skills. Everybody outside of you, your micro-managing board or morons, and your readers are actually very sure that they wouldn't characterize this as reloading. Somebody had a fart hose installed in the seat of their pants that runs strait to a facemask. Talent! Talen! Talent! Lot's of perceiving going on. Where's all the rough tuff real stuff they sing about? Resources? Facilities, facilities, facilities! They're like some ancient religion that believes offering the right sacrifice will please the gods. If we keep placing ever more extravagant facilities on the altar, we will win the holy natty. Resources? We're richer than anybody anywhere ever! Huffing your own farts is no way to go through life, sonny. Can there have ever been a more apt expression of Aggie hopes? Just switch out the year but not the pronoun at the end of each new season.
  3. I was hearing too much cornball country cowboy music, but the rest is impressive. Played havoc with the TV coverage.
  4. Took two tries. Bruce got him in The Cowboys. I see that was anticipated. I think Dern already had a healthy career. Obviously, I'm a big fan.
  5. Worthy has become a team guy which is remarkable and a credit both him and Sark.
  6. When it comes to indictments while in office, he's president and gets special treatment. When he is taken down to the hoosegow for printing and processing, he gets the special treatment because he's an ex-president. When he's accused of crimes that threaten the security of the US, he doesn't get incarcerated to disable his ability to plot against the US or just sell us out, well, we all know that it's a big unprecedented step to jail an ex-president. Now, when it comes to trial where the charges represent profound threats to the US and its democratic processes, he's a regular Joe and nothing special can be done. Judges can delay or just allow the grinding slow process work out the way it does for everyone. Unprecedented alleged criminal activities performed by an ex-president cannot be prioritized. This scoundrel incites followers to intimidate witnesses and representatives of the law, he can't be put in jail because we just don't do that to ex-presidents. It just seems crazier and crazier that all of this is going on, and there is no general response to this malefactor for all sorts of alarming reasons. Most people don't care enough to pay close attention. Those paying attention and who oppose Trump do not recognize the paradigm shift that makes this remarkably outside the bounds of traditional conflicts thus they do not adjust their own actions to fit the new paradigm. Those supporting Trump are astonishingly immune to reason or truth. They embrace the new paradigm. Enemies are to be destroyed because they are vermin socialist fellow citizens who endanger the soul of this, the greatest country the world has ever known. In summary, execution may be the best way to go.
  7. I did a little boiling down on this. I like that two of these candidates are available because of failure where they are. Day can't beat their biggest rival (A&M is at least accustomed to that) and Riley is "fading" with a team that can't play defense. They can't wait for DeBeor, and why would Norvell leave a real program with real history?
  8. How active and passionate about recruiting are assistant coaches when the head coach and man who hired them has been fired? There aren't many incentives to press for recruits that I can think of. Maybe you can draw a big recruit away to your new school? Recruiting is the least favorite aspect of college coaching as far as I know. I feel like I've read about assistants abandoning recruiting just about all together as their attention turns to finding a new job somewhere else. Anybody have any insight?
  9. I spent much of my early life in Houston. In elementary school (Cynthia Ann Parker), they bussed us to the planetarium. I'd spent all my life in the 'burbs. The most memorable moment of that visit was when they announcer put up Houston's night sky. Then he said, "this is what the sky in the country is like." I was startled as the stars expandied and new ones appeared. It stuck with me to look at the sky when I'm away from the city. We've made regular November trips to Lost Maples. I like it best when there is no moon. You can see why the ancients thought the stars were near.
  10. I wish it were just politics. Sigh. Have a great Thanksgiving, Brakeman. Thanks for keeping this thread vital.
  11. I live outside of Johnson City now. Never knew how much I'd love the country. A stupid amount of light comes from Johnson City from just a couple of sources. The local women's group approached the last mayor about preserving the night sky and doing something about the lights. "I like bright lights!" was the combative answer. I think reverse psychology is the best way to go now. We want increase the brightness around here. The socialists say it's a good idea. They say the brightness already here is a good start. We'll be bringing in some environmental wackos and feminazis to help with the campaign. This place would probably look like London at night during the blitz.
  12. You don't see that kind of dedication every day. It must really be pissing off the obsessed t-sips that Evan makes time to be in the building where team meetings are happening. I could just spit! Genius! Genius, I tell you. You say that you can do it. You're bound to be right. You were all over the wisdom of a Jimbo extension like a motherfucker. Now that they've managed Jimbo's goal of bowl eligibility, they can move onto the goal #2: not getting embarrassed. Ain't happening. Close loss as a good as a win. I have no idea what he's trying to say after that. That's it. 1 Enormously encouraging. Some guys might even play. Outstanding! 2 Wow, going to practice! These guys are all in! 3 A&M wants to win. Billy drills down to reach the reservoirs of wisdom: We'll have to score more points to do it. 4 Wait a minute, Billy. I thought embarrassment ain't happenin'. Save me with your last sentence, buddy. 5 Hey, guys, looks like me might get routed even if Evan has attended some meetings and other have attended practice.
  13. I often refer to the Mediterranean countries as having it all figured out as far as how to live life. Northern Europe is the same in terms of caring about beauty or just making things sorta nice.
  14. All it takes to start are city ordinances making all lights downward pointing or equipped with a shade that blocks light in establlished locations from leaking skyward. Nobody gives a shit about this. Our only hope would be if Coca-Cola, McDonalds, or Taylor Swift made it a cause. I only have a few standards for making my way through the world. One of them is to never diminsh beauty where possible. I hate to see it. That goes from females wrecking their faces with tobacco, the night sky, and the proliferation of asphalt and concrete. Smokers are generally victims, so I sympathize with the fact it's so hard to give them up. All you can do is sigh. The night sky is a benefit to all who look up at night. Few do. So a free boon is rapidly diminished. Anywhere USA with its franchised hellscape of ugly signs and no concern beyond brand display destroys even a consideration for ways to leave some green space. It's easier just to let the hard surface flow. Author Nick Tosches bitterly writes of a drive through a "market that we used to call a world." The words echo in my mind whenever I drive through a city. Austin is an island in the middle of an ocean of Anywhere, USA. Those who care have to win everytime to prevent the proliferation of the mundanely ugly. Proponents of the sprawl have only to win once to get their way.
  15. A pyschotic narcissist leads the irony-deaf to destroy the village in order to save it. Without actual discourse, there's little to be done about it.
  16. Wow. I'd missed that he was so highly rated. Hope he got that Longhorn vibe while he was on campus. If he and Kobe Black were to sign, where would that put our class ranking? I need to decide whether to say it's important or not. And thanks to you and others who post links with player news.
  17. That's a higher more refined grade of idiocy than you get from Texags. We've also criticised a coach for wanting to make sure his players were hydrated just because he was bad at other things. We're elite when it comes to refined, targetted idiocy, sir.
  18. Be physical. Get good players. Knows how to make his program successful. Verrrry impressive. Good bull. Very insightful. Stuff I never knew was important. I'm about the most optimistic guy in the world when we hire new coaches. If we hired this guy so we could be the place where he proves himself, I'd be furious. The Ags will rally around him and say stuff they've been saying with every new coach for decades: Lot of bad stuff going on in the locker room. Team didn't have that Aggie fire. This guy doesn't stand for any bs. He'll make us tough. I think the team is getting it's swagger back. tu is so scared of us.
  19. Mistakes happen in pairs; you do too much then you do too little or vice versa. Bjork is playing to his audience like Billy when he talks about setting up incentives so a coach doesn't get paid well unless he does well. Sounds great if you're happy getting a guy for whom the base salary seems pretty good. They're low-balling after setting the bar for high-balling. They're going from their weird notion of you get what you pay for. They concluded that if you pay someone a lot of money that person must be fantastic. In their minds, Jimbo was elevated by the high salary he commanded from them. Seems that didn't work out. Now they're convinced that incentives are the way to go. Certainly not stupid on its face. Their problem is that they assumed that everybody wanted that sweet A&M job because it fucking gawd damn A fucking and M. They discount the amount of money it took to draw Jimbo as a reason other coaches might be interested. Jimbo loved A&M. Everybody secretly does when they're not quivering in fear of them. So the Ags have the swag to lay down a tough contract. Result? They get an itenerate guy who just had a pretty good year. I guess the other coaches Billy said were wearing out the phone lines wanting to take the job just didn't impress the Aggie brass as much as this Fisch guy. Sort of like Petrino.
  20. I'll let Sark be the judge, but agree with you. Our offense will be good. It will be more dangerous with elite receivers, but elite receivers are not required. Stewart seems kind of like a cunt.
  21. Don't give up on us white men yet! We'll do better! We promise! Ah, who am I fooling? We need to be kicked out of power worldwide.
  22. I suppose that I, in the same way, can assume that all persons grouped in age around you are facile reasoners. There are plenty of things to dislike about any generation. Generational pride is idiotic. Generalizations are generally idiotic as well. Except when discussing the Dutch.
  23. First thing, I don't want to hear anymore of you idiots calling me E-Rob.
