  1. Impressive he didn’t pick Oregon.
  2. Sure-there’s zero reason for the campaign to float that he might be willing but I bet that conversation is ongoing. It might not even be about Biden’s willingness-if Kamala says “I want the big chair” and wants Biden to back her (which, come one, would be fair-Biden was rumored to have felt betrayed when Obama supported Clinton over his grieving VP in 2016) then it’s poised to have the kind of messiness that doesn’t line up for victory in November. Biden is only surrendering if he gets to pick the candidate and he thinks they can win. FWIW, in support of this version of what’s going on is her people are already putting that idea out there.
  3. I’ve come around to the idea that switching might not be a disaster. I think most of the Biden coalition voters are baked into opposing Trump and the remainder are open to an alternative not named Kamala. Biden’s debate performance and the media fixation with it will provide the permission in most voters minds. Tell me who the VP is and it’ll re-assure me about viability. You almost have to pick an African American woman, both to re-assemble the coalition and to keep Kamala out of the contest for potus and delay coalescing around one candidate. I think either Newsome or Whitmer would be fine and the short campaign will help them not ring up body blows that inevitably turns off independents.
  4. Maybe Kenny Baker needs to change colognes or something.
  5. I actually just want Gausman and for Toronto to chip in on the ‘25 salary for someone like Melton straight up (I’m not a believer, sell high). That said, Gausman had a ROUGH June and might be hurt and we have plenty of those already.
  6. Yeah, no thanks. I’d rather chase a pitcher.
  7. Incredible timing. They are about to capped out pretty much forever.
  8. Yeah, the biggest problem with season three is that the bar has been set so high.
  9. I’ve got a $750k VA loan I didn’t lock Thursday because the buyer was overseas and generally I like to review numbers and firm up a commitment before I lock…oops.
  10. Yeah, I don’t think our depth chart should be scaring anyone off. There’s a high likelihood of attrition after the fall depending on whether Gullete or Lefau wins starter snaps and which would put a capable freshman in the two-deep.
  11. Mark Price’s game would look a lot different in the modern NBA-probably twice as many three point attempts and half as many assists. I think they’d love for him to take a chunk of FVV’s minutes so they can replace the latter with someone cheaper in ‘26. Plus Fred will get injured at some point during the season.
  12. I'm not willing to go full @Wulaw Horn on it, but there's probably some legitimacy to what @CoachEmUp64 said above--if you have 5th year, maxed out seniors that have previous starting experience at major programs, you can get 75% of the benefit of better athletes by having enough of them you can keep them fresh. I don't think that's what Sarkisian is intending, but it might be what we have to live with.
  13. I have a suspicion it will over-perform. I think they’ve been trying to market to the evangelical/fly-over ticket buyers that maybe aren’t getting picked up by the tracking surveys.
  14. There’s nothing about The Gray Man and Citadel that would support returning to the Russos. Like Marvel in general they appear to mostly interested in spending tons of money on production budgets.
  15. Unfortunately that won’t resurrect the lost momentum towards a future Avengers. $375m-$400m for Anthony Mackie Captain is bananas. That said, maybe it’s a sign they really like the movie if they are willing to make a bet that big.
  16. Or he needs Harris to tell him she won’t seek the nomination. If Harris is willing to be VP on any of the speculated nominees tickets the whole thing would be so much easier. That said, and this sounds silly but it would settle some of the Kamala problem, get Oprah on board as VP for whoever.
  17. They did not cheap out on music rights this season.
  18. You shouldn’t be, the Gray Lady has turned into a click machine but tuned to anxious lefties instead of Fox News. I still read it every day but they avidly lean into hysterics.
  19. We finished it off last night. It’s not nearly as propulsive or compelling as the first two seasons.
  20. Love the trade-will be the second best shooter on the team after Sheppard. The only pick that would have been more fun would have been to draft Bronny James and then hold him for ransom.
  21. We got through ep 5 last night. Hate to say it but I’m a little disappointed. Best moment so far was a conversation between Carmy and Marcus in (I think) ep 1. Cameos are distracting, particularly episode 5. I don’t think it should take this long to figure out what the writers are trying to say.
  22. That’s where I first saw him, too. He loses it at times (you can hear the brogue come out), but I thought he really did a fantastic job with the Texas accent after seeing James Van Der Beek show off how a really bad one sounds.
  23. That was before he was on year one with a cadaver tendon holding his arm together.
  24. Let’s be real, which of those four don’t have big red flags in terms of reliability. Plus everyone keeps presuming, without much evidence, that Garcia and LMJ would both be useful in the bullpen if we suddenly have enough starters.
