  1. According to PFF Arch’s self-pressure rate is ~11%. That puts him in the 90th percentile for qualified QBs (that’s very good). As a reference Quinn was the 11th most self-pressured among qualified QBs last year. So most of Arch’s pressures are coming from poor protection
  2. Here is the shocking thing. https://bcftoys.com/2025-fpv Texas is #1 in Net field Position this year. Up from #53 last year. Lot of that is on the punt teams, but also turnovers. Texas is currently 21 in the nation with 6 lost turnovers. They were 130th last year (26 turnovers in 16 games). Teams are not getting a lot of short fields like last year. You would think the defense is playing a lot more this year, but so far it is pretty much a wash. Texas is 80th in TOP (29:28) and Texas was 74th in TOP (29:51) last year.
  3. absolutely stupid. Next level stupid. DE/DT stunt has 0 to do with a crossing route. Most of the pressure on the year is not from the 2nd or 3rd level. You are throwing all kind of BS in here. This is simple. A gap pressure is the best pressure in football. Full stop on any stupid rebuttal to that. It is the fastest pressure and it is immediately in the face of the QB. This is the reason the OL blocks inside out, because the that is where the biggest threat is. Defense brings 6 vs 5, they leave the outside guy for the Qb not the inside guy. You are only one in the history of football to argue that you should leave the DT unblocked on a pas play and focus on the CB coming.
  4. Why are you trying to talk to a brick wall?
  5. Defenses have been getting pressure with 4 and with extra bodies. Kentucky was far and away the most aggressive, lets not pretend that is what Texas has been seeing all year. It is not rocket science, but for some reason you dont understand it. You think attacking the left guard is about Arch and not the abortion at LG and Center. If you get a guy coming through A gap the mobility of the QB does not matter. It is the best pressure in football. Your side bar into you want pressure up the middle on mobile Qbs is just ridiculous.
  6. Attacking the interior gaps is the best way to disrupt any offense. Has 0 to do with mobility. There is a huge difference between succeeding and trying. Texas replaced one of the best pass blocking guards in the nation with worn-down speed bump. Center is not quite as dramatic, but still a massive downgrade. You are being willfully ignorant.
  7. 100%. Its no different than a secondary with 2 all-Americans and 2 terrible players. The offense is going to attack the weak links, the defense will do the same. Kentucky hunted Brooks and Robertson.
  8. Its like syphilis spreading through Lubbock, even Goosby struggled
  9. Any chance you have Brooks and Robertson's pass pro vs Kentucky? I dont think it was appreciably better
  10. can this thread die already? I propose a death match between @That Guy and @Derka to finally end this debate
  11. Moore deserves more targets. He is the most experienced. Like to see Moore featured more in the short to intermediate game and let Livingstone be the deep/contested catch guy. Still need to work Wingo in, but he has not shown that he deserves to be featured. Before someone misconstrues this post, I am not saying Wingo sucks. I am just saying at this point in his career, he should not be the featured WR.
  12. Wingo is talented, but I think Sark is force feeding him like he is Worthy. Wingo has 48 targets, 24 rec, and 320 yards.. 50% comp rate, 6.67 yards/target Livingstone has 24 targets. 15 rec, and 308 yards.... 62.5% comp rate, 12.83 yards/target Moore has 24 targets. 20 rec, and 277 yards. ----- 83.3% comp rate, 11.54 yards/target I would like to see a more targets going to Livingstone and Moore. Wingo even has the lowest yards/completion of the 3, so its not like he is making big plays after the catch (13.3 for Wingo, 13.9 for Moore, and 20.53 for Livingstone).
  13. All you have to do is watch the Kentucky game plan. They hunted Nick Brooks. Most have played safeties back. Even OU did that. The film is out now. UK usually is a zone team, that struggled to get pressure. They said fuck it, we will dont think Texas can protect. This was probably the most aggressive anyone has gotten with Texas. It was not the fear of the run game. UK was mostly bringing stunts/blitzes from the second level aimed at Brooks' eyes. This is going to be the issue. Anyone can get pressure on Arch. You can trick Sark into hunting big plays.
  14. Brooks was give a 3.8 pass pro grade vs OU with 9 pressures allowed. Not even sure how a 3.8 is possible. Could not find Hutson's pass blocking grade, but overall he was 54.6. I am pretty confident saying it was shitty. You have to factor that in. I believe there were 25 pressures on 27 attempts. 78% comp is nice, but the 0 turnover worthy plays was huge in that game considering the pressure.
  15. That was a hell of a performance vs OU. He was under constant pressure in that game. He was really good in that game. He was shitty vs UK.
  16. this is the dichotomy of Arch Manning. He misses the easy, but makes the hard. He is 7th according to PFF in Big Time throws in the country.
  17. I would not disagree with that. It reminds me of that 1st year with Sam offense. Feels like on any given play there is an 80% chance of failure, but its hard to pinpoint where that problem will come from. The offense has no rhythm or confidence. I kind of think OU is an outlier (rivalry game). The offense is completely QB reliant, and it feels like everyone is waiting for someone else to make a play.
  18. He is going to get worn down over the course of the season. He could beat up already. It just a nightmare environment for any QB. His consistency is the biggest issue, but hard to be consistent when you are the most pressured QB in the SEC. His upside is obvious, just have to see if he can get close to his ceiling. Offense is bad because of Sark's gameplans, OL, and Arch. I think the biggest reason is the OL, if they cannot clean up the A and B gaps this year the offense will continue to struggle. Need Sark to realize the issues and make OU game plan the norm, not the exception
  19. Did a guy with 7 starts miss a few guys with 45 pressures in a game? No fucking shit. there isnt a QB that would not miss guys in that environment. People say stupid shit like "missed guys when he had time". No shit, when QBs face pressure like that they get sped up. Like I said gameplan matters. Pressure rate was higher vs Florida than OU, but both were bad. The results were as different as the game plans. Turns out emphasizing the short pass behind a bad OL (4.2 aDOT vs OU) is better than the long pass (17+ aDOT vs Florida). Manning definitely needs to improve, but he is getting next to 0 help.
  20. I thought he looked decent vs Florida. I dont think many QBs would have looked much better facing 45 pressures. Lot of those pressures are coming from whiffs at the guard and center position, which is just death to any QB. How much do you miss your whipping boys Hayden Connor and Jake Majors now?
  21. He definitely needs to improve, but this is a stat with 0 context. HE has played the #1, #5, #21, and #25 defenses according to FEI. That is a beat down of a schedule for an offense, based on current DFEI rankings.
  22. in @BurntOrange&White defense, he is the most consistent poster on this board. His position is always the Qb sucks.
  23. This is different team. It easy to try to draw comparisons to last year, but the environment is completely different. Sark opened the year trying to run between the tackles with PA shots. You can saw the difference game plans make in back to back weeks. Florida the ADOT was over 17 and it was 4.2 vs OU. The pressure rate was still insane. Texas is 128th in pressures allowed. Arch is dead last in the SEC with pressures on 41% of his drop backs. They were 28th in 2024. The numbers are even worse when you watch game and discover most the pressure is coming A/B gap, which were very solid last year. Its pretty amazing Texas has only given up 13 sacks. I cannot imagine what the offense would look like with Ewers behind this OL, though I doubt we would see much of him if he played behind this OL. He probably would have died by the Florida game. Keep in mind Ewers was the 11th most quarterback-faulted pressure in FBS. Manning is in the 90th percentile with only 11.8% QB-faulted pressures.
  24. Even worse is going empty with motion, it like a sign that says Manning is running
  25. It is week 7 and it’s crazy to say maybe the biggest difference between 2024 and 2025 is Hayden Connor.. I never thought I would say that
