  1. I must say that I celebrate your appearance on every commitment thread. She's gorgeous.
  2. Deborah Harry is 78 years old today.
  3. Yep. Bama outright bought players for years. Now that others with deeper pockets do the same thing, all they can do is cry to the NCAA.
  4. Season 2, episode 7: the Grand Hotel. If you have Amazon Prime, it's there. I just watched it. Almost didn't recognize Arkin, who gets arrested as a young lover in the hotel in question. He completely disappeared into the role.
  5. Passed away at 89. Favorite AA role? Gotta be Yossarian in Catch-22, right?
  6. So what happens if Biden dies? RFK becomes the leading Democrat candidate by default?
  7. Somebody upthread mentioned how "we'll see if Sark's 3-star specials turn out to succeed at a better rate than any of his predecessors" or something similar. Here's what's different about nowadays: there's just so much more information available to the coaches now. Mack would see somebody in one of his camps and offer based on that. Now there's a whole apparatus whose job it is to sift though data, to make phone calls about players, to talk to coaches, to research their personalities, to watch them in camp videos and then to break those videos down analytically etc ... I bet we'll see that, percentagewise, a great many of Sark's 3-star specials turn out to be diamonds.
  8. I thought this was made up but then I went and took a look. Here's his South Dakota representative page. It appears South Dakota isn't sending its best. https://sdlegislature.gov/Legislators/Profile/4442/Detail
  9. It appears he might be about to go through some things. https://twitter.com/Victorshi2020/status/1673344918536765445?s=20
  10. He's trying to oust Brent Venables so that he can take credit for ousting Brent Venables!
  11. One of the funniest lawyer-ish things I've seen in forever.
  12. Nevertheless, this is a huge challenge for a Russian military that's already facing one. Maybe Putin will embrace his old cook as the new head of the Russian military and all this goes away.
  13. Holy crap ... it appears to be total anarchy ... infighting between the Wagner group and the Soviet Military is getting serious. Prigzohen, the leader of Wagner, claims the Russians have attacked his forces. https://www.nytimes.com/live/2023/06/23/world/russia-ukraine-news Meanwhile Moscow is accusing Prigzohen of urging "armed mutiny." https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-66005256 Success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan. This is an indication that the Russians know that Ukraine is going to end in failure, just as Afghanistan did.
