  1. Nutty and Buffman. The glory days of DT comics.
  2. You mean a musical, like the original. Yeah, never saw that coming. I that it was way better than the Depp version and on a scale of Depp to Wilder, closer to Wilder.
  3. I’m getting the itch to bowl more frequently. I was in a league years ago with friends and had a 150 average. I’m currently a mostly straight bowler with a baby hook, but I want to develop my hook a little more. YouTube has a fuckton of videos on trying to show the right way to bowl. I feel like I’m in the weeds. Living in pflugerville, Spare time is my closest but the oil really seems to prevent much of a hook. And the league seems to eat up all the lanes on Wednesday nights. I’d join but the league is full. So I only get to bowl about half the time I show up. It’s kind of frustrating. Apparently there are lanes at Bass Pro and Austin Park and Pizza I could try but I don’t expect much better conditions for either of those. I even tried tried to get a lane at Pinstack(?) on tech ridge but it also had a huge wait on a weeknight. I feel like my best bet is to drive a little further back into town at Highland Lanes. How easy is it to get into the leagues at Highland as a solo?
  4. Shadow 2. Yes. My favorite gun.
  5. They do make 9mm 1911. Sounds like blasphemy to the 1911 purists, but 9mm is a whole lot cheaper than .45. I have a Rock Island model that I have bought, sold and bought again. And there are higher end 9mm models like the DW here. Speaking of CZ Brat, you can get replacement grips to gussy up the gifts this summer. The green ones are aluminum but there are plenty out there.
  6. Yes. I did. When I started scale swapping there were only a couple people doing it (cuscadi, DoaT, and Keyman). Slowly found others that were cheaper than Cuscadi. I bought a used set off a BF member at some point. They always looked really good. Ultimately sold them because they were easy to get good money for them. I regret it now.
  7. I have on a couple occasions. I got a clearance yellow spyderco and used dye to make it orange. Similarly took a clearance pink to purple/black. Twice was enough for me. I moved on to buying custom scales from users on bladeforums, flytanium, AWT and others.
  8. No on the tagged out. I’m not really interested in that one. My wallet agrees. Give it a few months and I might change my mind.
  9. The knife I was thinking of was the 530 / 531 Pardue. Zero ergonomics, just two flat slabs and not much grip. The 535 Bugout doesn’t feel premium but it doesn’t feel cheap and the scales have decent grip.
  10. I have the dark green version. You’re right it’s almost perfect. It was designed by a former blade hq staffer that used to do their YouTube talks “what is up guys”. Which is why if find it bizarre they did not sculpt out some of the g10 opposite the liner lock to allow easier access. It’s the only drawback to the knife.
  11. The mini grip was my go-to for a long time. At my peak I had 8 or 9 of them. Some with custom scales, and I had all the blade shapes. My favorite blade shape is the one with the spyder hole, just slightly better than the Ritter style. I think they have discontinued both which is annoying. Doug Ritter has taken his blade shape over to Hogue. The mini grips are great for a daily carry. I forget I have one until I need it. The full size grip feels substantially larger but still lighter than say a buck knife. I notice the full size grip when I carry it mainly because it hits my keys in my pocket. Most of my knife use is opening boxes so a mini grip is enough for me. If I were really having to work the knife, the full size would be better. Comparing the mini grip to the bugouts I find that I like the shape of the mini grip in hand. The scales on the bugout are flatter and less ergonomic. With the flat scales they absolutely disappear in the pocket. I was skeptical as the bugout seemed like the evolution of another Benchmade with flat scales. It felt cheap and flexed tops much. Whatever they changed made them feel like a more quality product. I like both. The mini bugout probably gets carried most out of those.
  12. Benchmade update. This is most of them. I liked the bailout a lot more than I thought. It’s bigger than the bugout but not notably so in the pocket.
  13. No experience with those, but for a button lock, the Kizer Original comes in a lot of options and is a good option. I have a copper one. I got it during a Mojave Outdoors sales that come up every few months. It was cheap.
  14. I’m not offended. You have a point. By the time my gun funds grow enough to buy, my interest may shift. Till then, it’s on my list.
  15. My next purchase will be the Springfield SA-35. I regret selling my surplus hi power every time I look at the safe.
  16. My wife (43, 5’2”, no pics) had a Bersa Thunder .380 with a laser grip for a while. It was what we settled on after some full size S$W .38 revolvers, Ruger pocket revolvers, and some other options. The bersa was hers for years but was so lightweight, the snappy nature annoyed her. Range trips were short. I brought home a Glock g48 9mm for myself. At our next range trip, she tried the Glock. She was able to rack the slide easier than the bersa. The snap was easier. She was able to get a comfortable grip, better than any of my other pistols. The Glock is now hers. Everyone has their best option. Rent, rent, rent. Then buy. It’s cheaper.
  17. Sig 226 for $500 Is a great deal. PDs will issue sides and there are officers that only qualify when they have to. Sidearms will go months without firing according to my retired APD cousin. Believe it or not, some cops are not gun nuts or care very little about range time. He never carried what he was issued. Instead he opted to carry a Glock G21 .45. That being said, every used pistol I got off TGT “only had 250 rounds through it”. Right. Also could have been an end of contract situation. A cop may have gotten a Sig P320 as part of a new contract so he sold his old carry. The departments will also sell whole batches of unissued firearms if they change primary contracts. The first few Glock G22s I bought at GT distributors were department inventory that still had the manufacturer bronze paste or whatever that stuff was. Never fired, never cleaned. Again, It’s a good buy. I have a 226 and it’s a great gun. If I didn’t have a CZ I would shoot it a lot more than I do.
  18. The sound in the stadium is a fucking beating. It would be different if this was a good game. It isn’t. And the AV team is killing me.
  19. No regrets here. It’s a lot of money for a pocket knife especially when I have dozens of really good knives already. It’s not better at opening boxes than my others and it won’t be the end of my knife habit. It is a good looking knife and I really like the blue stud and spacer. I knew it was a big knife but it does not eat as much pocket space as I thought it would. It takes up about the same space as a Griptillian and less than a spyderco shaman. It’s pretty stiff so I’m bruising my thumb trying to break it in. Similar to my small Sebenza you can tell it’s a quality knife.
  20. After years of hemming and hawing, this arrived today: Chris Reeve Large Sebenza 31 The small Sebenza I bought used a few years ago used on bladeforums so I knew I’d get a large Sebenza eventually. They seem impossible to find retail and sell out on the bf exchange immediately. Thankfully, CRK changed the design on their inlays so I didn’t form over an extra $150 for the micarta version. Ultimately found an authorized dealer on eBay Action Concepts based in ….. Austin.
  21. Love CZs. I have a few. Shadow 2 is tits. And I doubt I’ll shoot the 75 again.
  22. Physics involves the science of motion. Thermodynamics involves the science of a change in temperature. I think. Actually I have no idea. I was a math major.
  23. Diplomat was suggested on my homepage for a month so I finally watched it. It would have been better if they skipped all the personal relationship issues. 6/10
  24. Gonna have to watch what Tom Bihn the company does next. The founders sold to another company and they started rolling out X-Pac that TB the person said he would Never do. I have two Synapse and a medium Road Buddy but that’s it….for now.
