  1. Not to mention UT = the far superior academic institution. Some of these kids [*cougharchcough*] still actually care about stuff like that. Plus Austin > Collie Station times infinity. It's pretty amusing to read all the dumbass ags suggesting that the previous season's record should somehow dictate recruiting results in all respects.
  2. Get out while you still can. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2015/07/20/the-really-big-one
  3. Sounds like one of the plot points in that hot mess of a movie, "Domino."
  4. Smith was scheduled to attend SEC media days, but will no longer do so. This will be his discipline.
  5. The Answer: She was the head of the Department of Education . . . and believes the Department should be abolished. The Question: Who is Betsy DeVos? https://www.yahoo.com/news/ex-education-secretary-betsy-devos-163212843.html
  6. Yeah, I'm not even gonna ding him for using "aggie" instead of "aggy."
  7. Lulz. Saban got NCAA to decree no OVs that weekend just to fuck with aggy's pool party. The paranoia and stupidity know no bounds.
  8. That's a little different. Briefly checking one's drive-thru order to make sure it's correct doesn't really bother me -- emphasis on "brief." Now, if your drive-thru order is substantially fucked up and you think you're just going to sit there for another 5 minutes waiting for the corrected order while all the drivers behind you sit and stew? Hell no. The proper protocol is to tell the employee what's missing, tell them you'll pull over and park in a space, and then wait for them to run your corrected order out to your car. It's happened to me a few times through the years, and it's easily handled. It ain't rocket surgery.
  9. No doubt. Togo was the baddest motherfucking dog in the history of ever. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Togo_(dog)
  10. Goddammit, what the fuck is going on in here??
  11. Nah, too easy. Wouldn't be sporting.
  12. People who wait in line to order at a fast food restaurant but fail to make up their fucking minds while waiting despite having several minutes to do so. Oh, so the 5 minutes you were waiting didn't afford you enough time to figure out what the fuck you want? So now you need to dick around another 2-3 minutes at the counter before finally placing your order? Yeah, fuck you. And while I'm at it, don't fucking act surprised when the cashier asks that you actually, ya know, make a payment when you're done ordering. Have your wallet or your phone or whatever ready to fucking go. Some idiot in front of me last week spent forever digging through her purse to find her credit card despite having all the time in the world to get it ready when she was standing in line waiting. Drives me nuts.
  13. You are correct -- the vast majority of filed criminal cases resolve short of trial. My only point was that if Ruggs' attorney wasn't previously receptive to discussions about a plea deal (and I emphasize that I don't have any info one way or the other), my guess is that he will be now that this ruling has been issued.
  14. Hey, Czech. Very sorry about your brother -- I did not know. I don't even want to imagine the pain you've gone through. I feel bad that my necro-bump of this thread brought back bad feelings for you, and I hope that you were able to get some semblance of justice for your brother when the dust settled.
  15. So . . . the judge ruled today that Ruggs' BAC can be introduced into evidence. Barring some kind of reconsideration of that ruling, that's a huge win for the prosecution. The BAC evidence combined with all the other evidence (esp. his rate of speed immediately prior to and at the time of collision) is going to be very persuasive, IMO. Don't be surprised if we start hearing rumors that Ruggs' legal team is seeking out a plea deal with the prosecutor. He's not going to want to go to trial. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34232294/judge-rules-blood-alcohol-test-results-allowed-evidence-case-former-las-vegas-raiders-receiver-henry-ruggs-iii-charged-fiery-crash-killed-woman-dog
  16. The young lady who died (and her dog) should not be forgotten. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/34226323/the-case-henry-ruggs-iii-distraught-family-desperate-answers
  17. I have no trouble believing that scenario, and I am certain that Griner's detention and charges are completely political. Fuck Russia and Putin with a red-hot poker. With that said, she knew it was Russia. She knew that the whims of those in charge could change at any time. And she knew that traveling with even a minimum quantity of drugs was technically illegal. So while I believe her detention and charges are completely political in nature such that I'm largely sympathetic to her situation, my sympathy is tempered a bit and I would hope that she would take at least some responsibility for her own actions. There is a middle ground in here, and that's where I'm at.
