  1. As I mentioned, I got to check out practice today. I don’t think much can be gleaned from drills and scrimmage, but I’ll just mention some of my thoughts. I’m a fan of basketball, not an expert so my observations are rudimentary. It looked like to me the emphasis was on tempo. A lot of new faces and still trying to figure out who was who. I did notice Weaver making quite a few outside shots which was good to see. The hustle is still there. I’m always amazed at how high he can get off the ground. I’ll be curious to see what others think but Shedrick to my eyes, looked like he was playing at a much lighter weight than last year. He seemed to be moving much better than last year so hopefully he is over all the injuries. Looking at the body types of the players I don’t think we are going to be pushing anyone around down low. As I said above, Kent really caught my eye as standing out. Johnson has a nice shot and during a break he went around the arch and made pretty much all but a couple of threes. The players did seem supportive of each other and generally seemed to work well together. It may be that it’s going to take some time to really get the chemistry going. I say that because I did see some really good passing under the bucket but unfortunately the passes seemed to be a real surprise to the recipient. While the assistants ran some parts of the practice, RT was super engaged and hands on. I really enjoy seeing games at Moody and it did get me excited for the season.
  2. I saw some of practice today and that was my impression as well.
  3. That made me think of my mother who made me promise to put it in her obituary that in her 85 years she never voted for a Republican.
  4. Actually her plan excluded an important point that was in his. Trump’s version created a huge loophole where executive bonuses could be classified as tips. Harris’ was limited to the types of workers whom you would normally think of as being tipped.
  5. Honestly didn’t see that coming. But, gold star for speaking your truth.
  6. It’s not like he isn’t being paid a ton of money.
  7. I did have a guy tell me that he was voting for Trump because he makes a shit load of money and the very last thing he wants is to pay taxes and he knows Trump will “take care of him”. Had another tell me that he thinks it is just terrible that our public schools are conducting sex reassignment surgeries without parents consent. I asked him why Abbott is allowing it to happen as Governor and he told me I was going to hell.
  8. When did Drudge start growing a brain?
  9. So he closed his business for a day and forwent profits to make an in kind campaign contribution for Dotard to make a commercial?
  10. Well, fuck them.
  11. The conference statement they put out was bullshit. They were not discussing anything until after they saw the reaction. Every official had gone back to their position on the field for the next play and didn’t come together until after the stoppage. Better get ready. This is not the last time we get screwed by them. They protect their legacy members.
  12. Shitty fans, conference office that meddles in outcomes of games, and generally terrible academics. I fucking hate the SEC.
  13. So you are blaming the possibility of Trump being elected on campaign consultants as opposed to just accepting that 40% of our population is just racist or dumb? Ignoring the fact that all you have to do is turn on the tv and see R’s only agenda is making the electorate fearful and playing on the human tendency to always wanting to believe that someone is lesser than them? Not sure that I buy that.
  14. And the fact that their new Jesus is orange makes that all the more crazy.
  15. That’s not a bad take but I think the country is more racist, dumb, and disengaged than you are factoring in.
  16. I haven’t seen much evidence of that.
  17. All under the nose of Hot Wheels who apparently had no idea.
  18. In the 80’s for some reason we decided that taking the road that ran to and directly around the capital was some sort of defensive measure against APD driving back from 6th to West Campus. One guy was certain that APD had no jurisdiction on capital grounds. That all worked great until my buddy got a DWI from Capital Police.
  19. I encounter Aggies at work and I have a couple of good friends that went there. The one thing that they all have in common is that they cannot help throwing in a tu or some other comment every single time I talk to them. To be honest, I really don’t think about it most of the time until one of them says something. It’s really a big part of their identity. I have long held the belief that much of their self image is made up from how their sports teams perform.
  20. Does anyone else kind of feel that not enough is being made of the high probability of JD Vance be coming President if Trump is elected?
  21. The fact that Cruz will probably win says all you need to know about Texas.
  22. Super nice. Congrats. I need to find one in a store here in Austin to try that neck. I bought an early 90’s MIJ 54 Reissue Strat recently with a chunky V neck and love that. Pretty sure I’d like this one too.
  23. As a white guy who has lived in Texas all my life I can assure you that the percentage is large. What you are missing is what these same people are saying after you walk off. Rural Texas is a cesspool of racism and Christian Nationalism. I own some land in East Texas. When I go into town, I hear the talk in the cafe. I encounter a large proportion of bigots. But, I will say that the farmers and ranchers have no problem relying on illegal labor in their operations. Think about it this way, look at the rural margins for Ted Cruz after voting takes place. That tells you everything you should know about them.
