  1. No shit. Sub a Shepherd mix for your your lab and it's my story, too. Except he was throwing up and having explosive diarrhea at the same time. Real fun.
  2. I work at AMD. I have for a long time. The fortune I've left on the table makes me sick. 20-30% swings in 2 weeks was a way of life for years and years. I've certainly made out pretty well in the past 2 years, selling years of stock grants at $30, $40, $50, and earlier this week sold at $80. But about 4 years ago, when the stock was still in the $2.50 range, I was ready to pull the trigger on 20k shares in my own personal investment account. I talked myself out of it because I know our internal roadmaps and I knew about a pretty major announcement that was going to be made that I knew would make the stock jump quickly. Even though my plan was for a long-term play due to what I knew was finally going to be a successful product lineup, my conscience told me it wasn't ok. The only thing that allows me to sleep at night is the knowledge that I probably would have sold those shares when they with $10 anyway.
  3. What about Pedernales Falls? Is there any water there this time of year? I know you need to reserve day passes, but curious if it's even worth the trip.
  4. why? edit: nevermind, i'm a dumbass
  5. Did Dana confirm that?
  6. Not sure what the expected outcome was supposed to be. Or maybe not expected, but hopeful outcome
  7. Sheeeiiiiiit, between tickets, food/beer, and babysitter, it's a $100+ investment for my wife and I to see a movie in a theater. $20 is an absolute no brainer for me. I get that seeing it on a big screen is a different experience, and actually watching a movie at home without the kids awake to bother me requires me to stay up well past my bedtime, but the economics of going to see a new release at a theater doesn't work for me except for 1-2 times a year.
  8. Same here. Well, actually I was scheduled the 2nd week of Jan. but had a scheduling mixup with my wife. Rescheduled to March Madness. There was a scheduling snafu at the Dr. office so rescheduled for April. Office closed, so rescheduled again to first week of July. My wife was convinced the universe was telling us we needed another baby. I disagreed. Got snipped before July 4th and was back running again 10 days later. Dr. Trotter in Austin did great work.
  9. Had a good view of it last night in Driftwood. It helps that you are looking away from the city. I could make it out with naked eye, so finding it with binoculars was easy. Even my wife commented "ok that was cool. Thanks for making me see it." You don't have to go on a road trip to get a good view.
  10. LOL, sorry to get your hopes up. I just live near there. Perhaps I should say "go-to brewery". Like having a home golf course.
  11. +Rep for the Twisted X glass. That's my home brewery
  12. Ended up going with watermelon, cucumber, tomatoes, feta, mint, and lime juice. It did not suck.
  13. Put the Fritos on top of the dog and them take it to the Steel Shank thread
  14. Thinking about using this recipe, some variation of it. https://toriavey.com/toris-kitchen/watermelon-feta-salad-with-mint/ Will likely add some homegrown cherry tomatoes as well. There's about a thousand recipes online. Google "Watermelon feta salad".
  15. This has nothing to do with your thread, but the title reminds me of Norm's line at about the 50 second mark
  16. Homemade chocolate and strawberry ice cream made last night. Wife called an audible on the vanilla at midnight and said she's fine using the Creamy Creations in the fridge. She's making cookies right now for some July 4th ice cream cookies. Salsa made and getting happy in the fridge. Bought lobster tails at HEB yesterday and will be doing lobster rolls. Also bought a pound of shrimp because...why not. Planning a watermelon, mint, and feta salad as well. And I've been drinking mimosas for a couple of hours, so the chance I go digging in the freezer and pantry to make something awesome has reached 88%.
  17. I live in Hays Co. From what I can tell on Next Door, half the neighborhood is MAGA, and half is sane--whether that be reasonable Republicans or Democrats. Our neighbors across the street have about the nicest girls on the planet, aged 10 and 7, and they are friends with my boys--8, 6, and 3. My boys and I were riding our bikes yesterday evening when the Dad neighbor was pulling out. My wife started some small talk about a new quarantine, and he went off, talking about how if this wasn't an election year, we would never even heard of the coronavirus, and how everyone has to stay home except the BLM protesters who are looting and lighting everything on fire. She just stared at him for a while, and they he drove away. Guess that's one less couple I feel obligated to invite over. Sheesh.
  18. I have no stories because we haven't been anywhere in 3 months, but I hope District makes it. That's our favorite place to go to brunch, and my kids LOVE it. We'd go 2x a month or so. But I have no desire to eat at a restaurant right now.
  19. Or that he throws up the Hook 'Em on Twitter?
  20. Eyebrows! Paper! Now!
  21. Supposed to have a vasectomy on Tuesday. It's been rescheduled 3 times since March. Wondering if that's going to happen. Long time between now and then.
  22. He ain't lyin'
  23. You get that off Facebook? Literally the first result from googling "Maine lobster history" one of the oldest continuously operated industries in North America
  24. And has one of the more interesting wikipedia pages.
