  1. Any recent data points on how much people are paying for internet only through Spectrum in Austin? I am cutting the cord this week and am curious what I should be pushing for when I make the call. We don't watch much tv, and when I looked at the programming option on Youtube TV, it looked like a no-brainer considering how many sports channels there are. About the only thing I'll miss is Food Network, and the reality is I can watch episodes on You Tube (not youtube tv) if I really want to. I started studying my bill, and I pay $75 after taxes for cable boxes, DVR, and "local TV and sports programming". This doesn't include the $99 I pay for bundled Internet and TV. You Tube TV is $42 after taxes, but I'm curious what I should be shooting for when it comes to Internet only plans from Spectrum. For reference, I currently have the Extreme plan (100 Mbps down), and it is perfectly fine for what we do so I plan to stay at that level.
  2. It's amazing to me to see the number of people that think it should be perfectly legal to launch yourself at the head of an opponent. I've also thought for a while if you really want to eliminate that sort of hit from football, you need to take away padding, not add more of it. If players wore leather helmets, no one would lead with their head.
  3. I've had a Performer for about 8 years now and love it. Never smoked a brisket on it, but the Smokenator looks interesting. I usually just move the coals to one side if I'm going to smoke something. I grill way more than I smoke, and the convenience of the built in propane starter is awesome.
  4. Why? Because he's not a mouth breather that thinks Texas Longhorn Football isn't all it's cracked up to be. We have 1 title since 1970. Deal with it. In the past 40 years, we have about 10-12 where we've been relevant. This year is more of the same shit.
  5. You spend money on this?? You must be young or have more money than sense. I hate that we lost, but the days of me wasting Saturdays anticipating our games and then watching a train wreck are long over.
  6. They are the Stansbury of south central Brazos County
  7. Ever seen 13 hours? I thought he was great in that. The movie was really good, too. Crazy intense.
  8. So many good quotes to chose, so much circular logic. This is my favorite part: "While those denials were plainly not accurate, Coach Meyer did not, in our view, deliberately lie." Wait...no, no. I like the line about being sure that if Urbs knew about the domestic violence, he would have fired Coach Smith on the spot. Uh, why? He didn't fire him at Florida when it happened, and he re-hired him at OSU. Why would he fire him now?
  9. And on top of that, the medicine he takes for his fake heart disease leads to fake memory loss. This guy has a rough life.
  10. I don't remember the last time I ate a hamburger that wasn't cooked outside on a grill.
  11. I have no idea why I've never looked him up before. He's by far my favorite color guy. I am now subscribed.

  13. There's one on the east side of I-35 in Round Rock. I know this because every time we drive to Dallas to visit the in-laws, I notice it and comment how amazed I am that place is still in business. And usually when I say this the parking lot is full. I've never been, but I assumed it was a poor man's Golden Corral, as sad as that sounds.
  14. Dude, get your head on a swivel. He'd make a terrible defender in any sport.
  15. If it weren't for the wife beating, this would be such an enjoyable off season story. "Aside from that, how did you like the play Mrs. Lincoln?" But McMurphy's absolute dick slap of Smith and OSU every step of the way should be a Harvard Case Study
  16. 139%, 1000%...whatever it takes.
  17. 1. I love McMurphy. I mean LOVE the guy. He's playing this to perfection. 2. I love the flat out lies by Lionel Hutz, and the circular logic. "You obtained those pictures illegally. Those aren't of my client, but you obtained them illegally". Uh, if they aren't your client, how the fuck do you know how I obtained them?
  18. You ain't lying'. I'm not sure I've ever seen that clip, and I couldn't help get tears in my eyes as I listened. I'm not sure I've ever had a voice move me to tears. Songs, yes. Lyrics, yes. But that voice...holy shit.
  19. Is one of those policies for the priests to not molest and rape children? That would be the first one on my list.
  20. Recent failures...lol, that's a good one. And they now have policies? Sounds like they have the problem under control.
  21. I find it bothersome that these coaches seem to think their responsibility in physical or sexual abuse allegations is to simply report it under "proper" protocol" and then go on with life. As if that absolves them of anything that happens in the future. My boss thinks it OK, so that makes it ok. Nevermind that I promote core values with "treat women with respect" as one of them.
  22. Diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early July, dead by the 22nd. Fuck me that's harsh.
  23. The "just the tip" and the dogs looking through the red fence got me pretty good.
  24. Anwar has zero inside information and very rarely has a telling point. The idea of people being "xxxx's guys" is pretty overrated. When Charlie purged "Mack's guys" and got "his guys" on the field, they sucked. In fact, "Mack's guys" during Charlie's first year were the best players we fielded for Charlie's entire tenure. Elliott wasn't very good when Charlie was coach. Was it an issue of just needing time to develop? Did he feel like he didn't need to work as hard since he was dating Charlie's daughter? I have no idea, but his development from year 2 to year 3 (Herman's first year) was striking. Also, I find it hard to believe Elliott and Malik were some sort of locker room cancers. The defense improved throughout the season last year, which is the opposite direction I would expect if 2 of the clear leaders were cancers. And Connor played in what, 3 games? He's not influencing much. And it's not like the team lacked effort. The OL lacked ability and our QB made some pretty dumb decisions in "win or lose" situations.

    Work Time Waster

This is pretty solid advice. It's going to get really boring. Maybe day trading, although that can be risky. Or catch up on your reading list. I like Whitman's suggestions the best. Learn a language and take some classes online.
