  1. Big12: UT over ISU ACC: Clemson over Miami Big10: tOSU over Wisc (B10 and P12 are the wildcards this year, I believe both of the will be sloppy - I can see tOSU dropping 1-2 and still beating UM for the division nod) Pac12: Utah over Washington (Wildcard choice on the winner, not who goes to the Conference title game) SEC: Alabama over Georgia (there's no fucking way CBS and the S(leaze)EC doesn't make sure this doesn't happen, again "it's what the fans want!") for comic relief - aTm: 7-6, they shit the bed and go 6-6, then win a meaningless bowl game against a G5 cupcake, have horrid viewing ratings and spend the entire off season blaming it all on BOMC (and starting to question if Jimbo really is the right coach) The CFP committee has three easy selections: SEC, ACC, B12. They then have to pick between sloppy B10 and P12 winners but ultimately tOSU gets the nod (after a 1-2 loss season, same as Utah) because of politics (but they call it 'convincing wins'). No G5 teams goes undefeated and therefore can make a pitch for inclusion. Clemson and Alabama both go undefeated and are ranked 1-2 respectively, UT 3rd and tOSU 4th. Clemson whips the shit out of tOSU Alabama and UT bludgeon the shit out of each other - going with head over gut here and Alabama wins (with some shitastic calls by refs) Clemson rolls Alabama again. This time because they're beat up, not because they weren't mentally in it. Lawrence wins Heisman starting the "Can he be the first ever 3-time winner?" debate during the off season. p.s. during the off-season someone from LSU, Georgia and Clemson get nailed for recruiting violations; Aggy goes fucking bonkers over some perceived slight; UT gets another stellar recruiting class and comes back even more hungry.
  2. Off the beaten path locations - and not overrun with tourists: McCall and Sandpoint Idaho.

    The Boys

First three episodes were clunky to the point I was wondering if I was wasting my time. Shit got real.

  10. Only the usual - certain posters have to piss on everything in sight
  11. Scalzi - Old Man's War series. Or - if you really want to go crazy, look at the Bobiverse series.
  12. He wrote some wonderful stand-alone books in the same universe such as Best Served Cold, The Heroes, Red Country etc.
  13. Is entitlement now classified as a mental issue? Because, shit, it's an epidemic in the US (/no CR).
  14. Dip-netting on the Copper River. Best connection with the fish and the river in my life.
  15. I got a little smashed last night and thought of this divine thread. I have to admit I'm a bit of a heathen as I love a grilled cheese with homemade ramen as an au jus. The sammich is butter grilled homemade sourdough bread (dagwood, of course) with olive oil mayo, Murican cheese and ham slices. The ramen is beef consomme with rice noodles.
  16. That depends upon what you enjoyed about WoT - was it the coming of age or the epic scale of the storyline? If coming of age fantasy is what you enjoy there are a ton of authors out there which fit the bill: Eddings, Williams, Hobb, Sullivan and so on. If epic fantasy is more of your boat try: GRRM, Lynch, Abercrombie, Lawrence, Rothfuss, Sanderson, etc. Want to take a ride on sci-fi? Scalzi, Corey, Brown, Card and others.
  17. For some reason I'm suffering from CRS these days - did you go up on any missions?
  18. Apollo and other NASA rockets. (WVB)
  19. Been working my way through it, not really addicted to it but find myself enjoying it.
  20. They, in fact, do - USMAPS. My dad used the prep school to get into West Point back in the 1950's, when it was then located at Fort Belvoir, VA.
