Did a reverse sear with a butter baste on a super thick aged ribeye and felt the final flavor was just *too* fatty and unctuous.
Much prefer a cleaner meatier flavor that stands on its own. IMO.
The black CS are 4cm. The other steel (probably is also CS?) is 6mm. These are adequately thick against warping while reasonably light at below 20lbs.
I feel the smoother CS surfaces vs CI’s higher surface area makes it a bit more resistant against rusting, extrapolating from care of cooking pans.
My use case is cooking lots of bacons (better fit than round pans) which generates lots of grease, or stir frying stuff like for cheesesteak. I figure the taller lip contains grease spills when used indoor and retains food from falling into the grill if I’m pushing it around outdoors.
I wanted a griddle to use both indoor on the induction range and outdoor in the rectangular gas grill.
Started looking at this Made-In carbon steel
Of course, they didn't make it themselves, they advertised it as a "Swedish" manufacturer. Turns out its from Kockums (whose product are also resold by other companies)
But I see 2 problems, 1-sides are too low so food and fat can fall out, 2-handles stick out too much and occupy wasted space vs cooking surface
Ultimately found Swedish manufacturer Gourmetstal making these in steel. Similar heft and thermal mass to carbon steel and cast iron, though slower thermal conductivity but shouldnt be a problem for the use-case.
These are shaped better to fit on my grill sideways so I can still use the grill surface.
Discounted Cast Iron because they require more maintenance against rusting. Most of them also cast the handles in-plane and have basically no lip which is dumb for usability
If you want the Gucci stuff buy some Binchotan charcoal from the internet. It's made of Japanese oak and burns cleaner, longer, and hotter. They use it in places like Izakayas.
Remember, it's only Binchotan if it comes from the Wakayame region of Japan. Otherwise it's just sparkling Kingsford.
1. Very funny how East = Ghetto, West = Posh, is the pattern for literally every city on Earth I can think of. East Oslo is never visibly ghetto though. There's obv more Muslims but it's not visually dilapidated.
2. Last quarter 97% of all cars sold were electric. It's 95% on annual basis now. There's not just Chinese (BYD, NIO, Xpeng, MG), but there's also unheard of Koreans like Ssangyong and Hongqi [yes thats right].
This is RR'ish Hongqi HS9
3. There's a stereotype that all Nordic women are blue/blonde but this is another archetypical appearance for many of them. (the singer Sigrid)
Knew a girl at UT who used to live in those apartments in the background. Although this site is unmarked to deter it from being a sort of place of interest, she said tons of people still come regardless, both the 'worshippers' and curious tourists.

This project aims to develop a jammer using ESP8266 to interfere with BLE and Wi-Fi networks. The project utilizes the RF24 library to generate interference in the 2.4 GHz bands and provides user feedback via an OLED display.
Some light aircraft from Cirrus have a parachute emergency deployment system. Its been used in 100+ occasions, saving the passengers lives some 80-90% of the time.
I don't understand the utter lack of cross-sport athleticism from some top notch professional athletes.
This is the most accomplished UFC figher in history. He's 6'4", wrestled and played football in high school, and his 2 brothers are college all-conference and NFL all-pro players.
How does he look like he's never shot a basketball in his entire life? Growing up in New York with 2 brothers, he's never played the 2nd most sport in America?
Kinda addicted watching this Outdoor Boyz channel.
Despite the name, its basically just 1 wholesome (mormon?) guy going in weekend survival camping. The stuff he does starts to get formulaic but he has legit knowledge and its good passive background TV
i thought about locking my bike near where they filmed this on west campus. it probably wouldve been cut off though.

If your currency is issued in coins, and the coins arent physically sized according to their value, your currency is dumb.
And the retardedness of the GBP is that their coins literally don’t have numbers on them. Its only written out, like “twenty pence”
