  1. Grabbed about 100 bottles. French Bordeaux, burgundy, Italians, a few Spanish, South African, Chile, Lebanon Bordeaux style (supposed to be exquisite), and a few Texas wines. stars of the show …. Mostly Bordeaux. what I call our Monday Tuesday wines… our table wines if you will… a case of each of an Oregon Pinot, Italian red, and French Grenache Syrah blend. then a bunch in between our table wines and the stars.
  2. SSRIs are awesome and for some they are not. Coming off of them can be a nightmare for some, others just hard. I do think society would be much better off if SSRIs were mostly prescribed by psychiatrists instead of GPs. But to blame them for gun violence or to try and ban them is intentionally dangerous, there’s nothing stupid about it.
  3. How the fuck did Barry Switzer join the chat? this thread with the Ewers thread man get the fucking season started already.
  4. i dunno about you but I prefer warm showers and baths when I touch myself but you do you.
  5. Everybody just needs to calm down. It’s Thursday, get excited, this week only comes around once a year and some of you only have a few more of these left for ya. Zen this shit out man. Go take a long hot shower or something Jesus.
  6. let me put it this way, if this team executes from Sark and the other coaches down to the players, this is the best team in the country. I don't give a fuck about bama or Georgia or buckfuckingnuts or anyone. stacked. like train these mother fuckers gangsta style, like 2005 (cept VY) ain't seen shit style, like bill bradley it don't make a shit style. I've never been more optimistic about a texas team than this one.
  7. dude. my first point was more important to the conversation this is good. he played well if this is truly representative of his play.
  8. i have two points first I want to be "not money whipped" for a $900,000 raise. thank you. second we have too much PTSD around here, we are pretty much in a reload with equal or superior talent at most positions (accounting for exceptions where the starter is a boss man but we have boss men popping up like fucking whack-a-moles all over this team)
  9. if I had a larger boat I would absolutely consider it. my buddy with a 60 ft hatteras SFY is very happy (he already does charter deals). real estate depreciation sucks - I mean it's great and you can 1031 to delay recapture but an appreciating asset with depreciation (accelerated or otherwise) deductions is a mega tax bill waiting to happen. being able to depreciate a depreciating asset is fucking money coming and going.
  10. goddammit (oops, sorry probably not allowed to say that in this thread). I want to be a unique snowflake.
  11. I think we next leveled the offseason discourse with Greek and Latin lessons, so I mean at least we continue to prove we are the smarties of the mouth breather conference.
  12. I don’t mean to be the grammer police but I think you meant “more ass” just trying to keep you honest.
  13. We moved out to the lake in 2007 with no ragrets to be close to the water. That plus a slip and lift were my non-negotiables. Once going out for an hour became easy we had the set up we wanted. Spending the whole day with boat ramps and an hour each way commuting to the boat just doesn’t work for me.
  14. When I am deeply present, usually in nature, sailing, fly fishing, sometimes hiking, and some times during sex - all of the past and the future and all of that unique attributes that make me wish I was not here, not me, that I was not in connection with the world of humans vanish and all that is left is the eternity of the moment and the ambiguity of the boundaries and definitions of myself as I meld into the natural world. It’s in places like the river and the marshes where who I am is without any label and subject to no social constructs. It’s really then that I feel the most peace and the most alive. I think it’s a little Buddhist though I desire no formal tag for it.
  15. I’m not confused I love sex. guilt? it’s more just the intense pain and loss of wasted years in a cult and a determination not to fall into another one (surly and the horns excepted of course). I feel like I lost 15 years of my youth and adulthood to lies.
  16. You meant transphobia right ?
  17. I've come a long way. I'm 100% ok with masturbation now.
  18. I'm not an athiest and not an evangelical about anything except possibly what I believe is an obligation to revere and respect the Earth and all of its inhabitants. it's in the moments where I do that successfully where I find the most peace and harmony.
  19. I'm also talking about apps to many other schools and my boy is applying but stands a 1% chance to get into UT so sadly I belong on this thread.
  20. that's what I'm saying, it's his writing but instead of me just redlining the snot out of it we talk through word choice and I ask him what he thinks is a better word or better sentence or paragraph structure. we finished his resume which he will provide to a few schools and to his recommenders last night, only 5 drafts but it took a good bit of time. his essay is nearly done, probably needs 3-4 more drafts before a final 3-4 more on nits and final word choice. it's going ok, and I'm trying to see it as a writing class for him in and of itself. the heaviest lifting is almost done.
  21. in the thick of these apps. ugh it's so hard when you are committed to guiding and not writing the app. it's amazing how far they have come but how far they have yet to go as students and future thinkers, writers and professionals. his writing is good for 17 but it's so far from good as a grown adult. engaging in what about this, what about that, try this, try that is excruciating. my 17 year old is teachable at least, no way I'm doing this for my 15 year old. I'm definitely hiring someone.
