  1. Also, I get that you receive flood warnings all the time as you built a camp in a flood plain, but this shit was different. This was some weird tropical storm that just fucking sat and fucking unleashed. Someone should have been paying attention
  2. Rex has never been banned. And even though he's a cunt, I kinda like him
  3. I stopped right here, what an absolute fucking disgrace. This should be his second win after Narcos
  4. They're both so good. And can we get a shout out for Chris Bauer? A legit top 10, dare I say top 5 supporting actor. This dude has played some great characters Bobby Dwyer in The Deuce Andy Bellefleur in True Blood The clincher, Frank Sobotka If I was a show runner, I would start with this dude in a supporting role, and build out from there
  5. Jeffries was asked about it and said stay tuned. Whatever the hell that means
  6. Should I tell them that their military aid was canceled? Or just that they should be happy that Donald is talking tough?
  7. Take your hope to the DT thread where the idiots are constantly tricked by Donald's words. This time might be different! Meanwhile a week ago we canceled a shipment of military aid for reasons
  8. How about you grow the fuck up, get an avatar, and stick around
  9. This so so much. Man, I know @immamac has been struggling these last few days and I can't imagine moderating this board right now. The floods have been anxiety inducing to me. I have been struggling with the fallout, and I live in California with zero connection to the floods. I've seen so many posters lash out at each other and apologize later. Y'all are in the thick of it, so many here are affected or know someone directly affected by it. Politics bleed into spaces it shouldn't be, posters lash out at others when they shouldn't, but god dammit, this is unprecedented. Imagine 100 Sbbruins here after the California fires. I don't even know what to say. Temps are running high and we just need to remember we are a community. Kind of just spouting verbal diarrhea at this point, but the floods have really hit me hard Gonna take the ol ball and chain on a vacation on Wednesday and I've been using the thread on food/travel to pick restaurants and places to go. This place is special
  10. A bump to remind people that if Quantum Leap didn't exist, this would be the best show ever. Gonna have to settle for the silver medal
  11. I can imagine. My buddy moved to Menifee about 15 years ago and I'm absolutely amazed at how fast it's grown
  12. Perris is such a fucking nothingberder. Fuck ICE's assault on California
  13. If you only ever own one tool, it should be a Klein lineman's pliers.
  14. Had a laugh with my barber earlier telling him about my old fart internet friend who screamed at some kid that he has a lighter and wants them both to die.
  15. For sure they aren't enough, but I want to know what was said. "Got an alert for catastrophic flooding, so it might be hard to sleep??" why did they wait so long
  16. Man, Dexter has always been kind of a mess, but damn it's nice having him back The original series was doomed after the Lithgow season. He was so fucking good, it was impossible to do anything after Trinity. I thought Original Sin and New Blood were pretty good. They did an especially good job of casting younger characters from the original series. Resurrection looks like it's gonna be pretty good too
  17. The article also said he alerted staff via walkie talkie around 1:30. What the fuck did he say? That should have been get the kids the fuck out
  18. Been absolutely raging through fantasy books... Dresden Files Jim Butcher - 4/5 I honestly only read it because I was on a long trip with a buddy and his choice of music sucks, so fired up the audio book. Wizard who is also a private detective in Chicago. Sounds lame right? It's really fucking good Codex Alera 5/5 - another Butcher series. Apparently at some Comicon type event, a person challenged Butcher that he couldn't write a series based on a lame idea. He responded with not one lame idea, but two. The Lost Roman Legion and Pokémon were suggested. This m'fer wrote his best series, in my opinion, on a fucking dare. The Cinder Spires 3/5 - yet another Butcher series. I should love it, steam punk is my jam, the Golden Age of Piracy is my jam, but typical Butcher, he starts out his first couple of books driving 15 mph, then completely opens it up. After he blasted past 100mph, the series is waiting for the next book Spells, Swords and Sheath by Drew Hayes 4/5 - it's a fun D&D inspired series. You don't have to like D&D to appreciate the series, it's really easy and smart First Law Trilogy and the stand alone novels 5/5 - holy fuck, this dude Joe Abercrombie can spin a tale. I almost bailed in the beginning, but glad I didn't. He can fucking swing it Powder Mage Trilogy 4.5/5 - shout out to @TKthunder2, at least I think it was him. Someone (tk) compiled a list of fantasy novels and this was on it. Revolutionary/Napoleonic era but with magic. It's really fun, and if you prefer audio books, Christian Rodska is the best I've ever come across. This fucking guy has/had so many different voices and ranges. I actually think the second series is better than the first.
  19. I went to a buddy's wedding in Franklin Pennsylvania, about an hour north of Pittsburgh. Just an absolutely gorgeous place. The houses are masterpieces. There's a park in the town where the Allegheny river and another river combine. Not a single person at that beautiful park when I went there. I could live at that park. Two rivers joining, a ton of grass and trees. Those early/mid 1900s brick house marvels? You could get them for pennies on the dollar. Nobody wants to live there, and it's a beautiful place. The busiest establishment was a Sheetz, which after adding mozzarella sticks and onion rings to my burger had me shitting my brains out the rest of the day. It was sad to see such a perfect place left to rot
  20. Dude, you should have just gone with it, that's an awesome trademark I don't actually know if you've ever quoted yourself, so apologies
  21. Negged Quoting thyself is trademarked by @Iceman
  22. Holy shit, @immamac, we need to run an annual Surly 5k where instead of water, the spectators hand you beers in official Surlyhorns koozies. 5k swag is awesome, so obviously we need to workshop this.
  23. I don't even live in Texas, but dammit I live for @phdhorn weather updates. Excellent work, sir
