  1. For now. Quay has at least 3 more commitments to make
  2. Sounds like the Fong CB for Quay may have some merit
  3. Quay is a sensational WR in every regard. It's a shame he's so flaky
  4. Good notes. IMG recruits should count as FL cruits IMO. A player should not benefit from leaving the state. Out of your top list, I like. Ja'Tavion LJ Tommy Billy JoJo Donavon as a Guard Foster as a Guard I'd drop Camar, Davis, Byrd, Ibraheem, Banks, Jackson & Cooks into the next tier.
  5. Drop Byrd, Foster, Davis, Banks (who is looking more like a linebacker every day), and.....errrr......maybe Cooks. I love Cooks, but he wouldn't provide top 10 value to every school because he would be misutilized. I could also be talked into swapping Foster with Ibraheem because the strength is so rare. Balance and technique can be improved. I know you like Conner more than Foster, but with the right coaching, I think Foster catches up as an interior lineman.
  6. The guys who I think have an argument for being in the top ten in the state, in no particular order Tommy Brockermeyer Donovan Jackson Savion Byrd Bryce Foster JoJo Earle Quay Davis Shadrach Banks LJ Johnson Camar Wheaton Ja'Tavion Sanders Landon Jackson Tunmise Adeleye Terrence Cooks Billy Bowman Ishmael Ibraheem That's 15. If I was trying to make a top ten ranking, the first ones I'd drop would probably be Foster, Davis, and then maybe the running backs or Byrd. I like Milroe the most of the in-state QBs for college and there might be five of them I'd consider in the teens, but the top ten is too loaded for me to think of any of them as being top ten types. I think Nahlin said that Thomas might be a top ten or fifteen guy in the state, but there's no junior hudl for me to watch to justify including him, but sounds like he'd be a high quality add. Aside from the QBs and Thomas, I think Sturdivant, Hayden Conner, and El Arroyo are probably up next; I'm probably higher on those three than most.
  7. ESPN also updated the top 100 in Texas. Williams #60 Harmon #68 🤔 King #74 Cooks #77 😴 Brooks #78 Juan Davis #84 Hal Presley's ESPN page has him at #124 in the state 🤪
  8. Updated ESPN 2021 TX Rankings. Shedeur Sanders is a weird way to spell Terrance Cooks 2) Tommy Brockermeyer 18) Savion Byrd 40) Tunmise Adeleye 41) Shedeur Sanders 42) Camar Wheaton 49) Ja'Tavion Sanders 56) Sawyer Robertson 62) Garrett Nussmeier 70) JoJo Earle 75) Landon Jackson 76) Billy Bowman 81) Jaeden Roberts 83) Donovan Jackson 84) LJ Jackson 92) Clayton Smith 97) James Brockermeyer 99) Shadrach Banks 105) J.Michael Sturdivant 111) Jalen Milroe 114) Ishmael Ibraheem 120) Preston Stone 121) Cody Jackson 135) Marcus Burris 136) Bryson Green 146) Bryce Foster 153) Dametrious Crownover 157) Reuben Fatheree 161) Jerand Bradley 177) Kendrick Blackshire 181) Quadarius Davis 188) Derrick Harris Jr 192) Ketron Jackson 195) Andrew Mukuba 198) Behren Morton 199) JD Coffey 208) Jacob Rodriguez 216) Dematrius Davis 217) Theodore Knox 218) Hunter Washington 220) Jordon Thomas 226) Latrell McCutchin 232) Eli Stowers 245) Shemar Turner 254) Hayden Conner 268) Blaine Green 280) David Abiara 295) Morice Blackwell www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/playerrankings/_/view/rn300
  9. guessing it is this? http://twitter.com/RJ_Young/status/1254830711019843586 - like the first 8 min it is actually quite funny,..no, really. it is. 2 theories on USC (coming in Texas) 1) Todd Orlando and 2) Graham Harrell (air raid coordinator, Herman wanted him) idea Texas can't keep guys in state - gives tOSU one. "the fact that Zach Evans isnt going to Texas or A&M speaks volumes for me" talks about Tunmise Adeleye going to tOSU "what would it be like if Baylor was able to get into these same confo as USC" and same for TCU "is Texas (the state) loyal to the state of Texas?" - why can't yall keep them in state? what gives? why doesn't Houston get these kids "the idea of Clay Helton being able to show up in your backyard coming off an ok season and fleece you, i didn't think it was possible" "i'm not sure if that's Tom Herman's fault or not - but who else am I going to throw under the bus?" guest: "i hear a ton about mississippi state in Texas" (wonder why you dumb fuck - who is the coach? what system does he run? when was he here?) guest: "you look at the group of 5 schools in Texas and they are blowing the power 5 out of the water - UNT, SMU, UTSA is on fire right now - they are a walking flamethrower" guest: "for some reason those power 5's don't have the same draw" guest: "it sounds very much like SMU, UNT, UTSA are going to become driving forces right now over some of these other power 5 programs we are talking about" side note, he is a fucking moron. i mean they currently have 1 current commit from TX - Brandon Campbell from Katy who is #49 in the state 2 last year - Courtland Ford, who was #90 in the State last year and Casey Collier, which isn't a name I have ever heard before - probably because he is #130 in the State 2019 - Dorian Hewitt from North Shore (3*, #191 in State) 2018 - 0 from TX 2017 - Levi Jones, #13 in State, #93 overall - we know his story 2016 - 0 from TX ...then again he also evidently has a video out about how Urban Meyer underachieved at tOSU (won his division 7 years in a row, finished as a top 6 team 5 years in a row, never had a team outside of #12, won a National Championship, won 90.2% of his games there, beat Michigan 7x in a row, etc) so he is either a moron or doesn't know shit. so just to be clear, in the last 5 years, USC has pulled 1 top 90 player from the State of Texas - Levi Jones. currently, they have 1 commit - let's not count Quay Davis in anyones class until the ink is dry.
  10. Landen King is a nice get to pair with Davis. Davis is severely underrated. His sister goes to Texas, we need an easy layup right now for some momentum. We’re the favorites right now for Cooks, Smith, Jayden Williams, Mubaka, Brooks, Jordan Thomas, and Coffey. Need to fight for Shemar Turner, Ibraheem, and Wheaton. Not sure what the hell we’re going to do at WR and OL. Looks like we’ve completely shit the bed at these two positions.
  11. Landen King is a great get. Juan Davis can play multiple positions. Chill out aggy.
  12. Between Virginia parachuting in to tell us how shitty Jahdae Barron must be bc of his Rivals ranking and you pulling this about King and Davis, we've got some real mental midgets about recruiting on the board.
  13. We're going to have to scramble/hustle to find some underrated kids to fill out the class, unfortunately, unless we can flip JoJo (might be doable, he never visited LSU and it feels like he might have been told to commit or lose his spot) and/or decide to take Quay. Michael Jackson III and Presley are solid takes, and hopefully we land them, but we'd need two more. Might make sense to find a talented transfer from the 2019 or 2020 classes who isn't happy with his situation.
  14. I've banged this drum on here before, but Louisiana has maybe their deepest WR class ever, and with LSU having an all time passing season, they'll probably take some national kids (they already have a WR commit from Mississippi and Texas) over the in-state kids, and some of those kids will be available without LSU interference. So I was really surprised when Texas offered Casey Cain, who's the 8th ranked WR (with 3 athletes also ranked ahead of him), before they offered much more highly regarded WRs (the only other one who's been offered is the #4 rated WR, and we were a little late on him and didn't make his top whatever list of schools). It's weird to me that all of these guys don't have offers, but maybe some are just overrated or some they know they have no shot at. Similar to the recent offer Michael Jackson III (who unfortunately doesn't have a junior hudl up), I think Cain is very attainable and perhaps even likely if the staff really likes him. I'm not trying to be overly positive and pumping these guys up as adequate replacements for JoJo Earle, Quay Davis, Banks, Jackson, etc., just pointing out two guys who could easily end in this class.
  15. If Quay Davis doesnt figure out his shit, WR recruiting will be a real fucking dud..hell even if he does end up in the class it would still be a dud
  16. That’s great. Now take out 2 absurd outliers in Baylor and OU and do it. Just add the average of the test of the games and do it. Also what Burt said. Do you really think rolling up here with the analysis of Brian fucking Davis was going to serve you well? suck off Chip Brown’s sources next.
  17. LSU would make a little sense, but losing out to TCU for Earle would be flat out embarrassing. Reagor is still going to get drafted at a good spot, but it's entirely in spite of TCU not because of them. Flaky or not, the staff is probably going to have to circle back on Quay at some point, there's not a whole lot more in state at the position. And good luck landing difference makers out-of-state this cycle.
  18. umm he's been Fong'd to LSU now.. only Quay can save us
  19. In about a 4 month span a team that didn't even make a bowl game will have flipped one of our highest rated commits, kept a kid from taking an OV the last week to us, and is now going to beat us out for our #1 WR target. With Knox trending to the Pirate and Davis being a complete wtf type of recruitment, WR recruiting is looking like a dud.
  20. Texas WR rankings using composite, in case folks were not aware of how true it looks like this is right now *JoJo Earle - 10 has Texas offer Shadrach Banks - 12 (A&M) has Texas offer Cody Jackson - 15 (OU) has Texas offer *?Quay Davis - 18 (who even knows) has Texas offer J Michael Sturdivant - 27 *Theodore Knox- 29 (100% CBs to MSU) has Texas offer *Ketron Jackson - 30 has Texas offer Bryson Green - 40 has Texas offer Latrell Neville - 45 (Va Tech) has Texas offer Jerand Bradley - 46 (TTU) Blaine Green - 50 has Texas offer Dylan Goffney - 59 *Hal Presley - 63 has Texas offer Elijah Bean - 70 Rodrick Daniels - 88 (100% CB to SMU) Cameron Bonner - 89 (100% CB to Baylor) Brady boyd - 90 (Minnesota) Javon Gipson - 95 (Baylor) Jimmy Valsin 97 Guys off the top of my head that Texas is "in" on/interested in are noted with a star
  21. Disagree. Give me Earle, Ketron Jackson, and whichever of Quay or Hal Presley. Maybe we can snag Pazon one of the Louisiana kids that LSU doesn't take. I like Knox but nothing about him is really rare.
  22. Crazy to think the best current outlook on positions in recruiting are DL and LB. I think DB will end up looking good. OL is entirely dependent on the Brockermeyer's. WR is a big ? right now. Can probably throw RB in with this. TE probably ends up Davis and King.
  23. Boy, I haven't been on this thread in over 3 weeks. I come back to the first post I hadn't viewed and it's moved like 8 pages. Really grim time to be a sportsfan. I spoke to a buddy and basically, the new guys have been doing the stupid shit where they ignore facts and go offer guys in SEC footprint/east coast and convince themselves they have a shot, while not focusing on Texas recruits the way they should. This cycle is obviously weird, but it flexes strengths for guys like Mack Brown, who Facetime and convince momma that her boy needs to stay close to him during this difficult and uncertain time. It doesn't flex very well for the Texas or ATM staffs, conversely. The only thing worse than enduring an 8 hour in-home visit listening to Tom Herman talk is spending an hour with him awkwardly Facetiming. Texas woke up regarding Milroe once he was planning a trip to Auburn. Let's see if they can manage to stay the course there. It is almost a certainty that Q Davis and Campbell will not stick at whatever school they sign with, and probably make zero impact wherever they go, if they get in. There's a mountain of data to support shying away from guys that decommitment more than once, and it gets worse with every additional decommitment. Guys that can't stay at the same school for an entire academic year are even longer shots. Texas liked Campbell early, then realized what kind of bullshit he brings with his signature and they haven't paid attention since. Somewhere along the way, the same thing has more or less happened with Davis.
