Binked the Friday night PLO tournament at TCH then played bomb pot only plo for a bit.

Get AAxx, had flush draws on both boards, Txx and Qxx. Turns are T and Q, so now TTxx and QQxx. $300 in the pot, one guy goes all in for $100 more, I call, other guy goes all in for $100 more, I Call my last chips. Rivers go AA. Nice little $800 pot.

So there is a game now that is ONLY bomb pots!?! Super degen

We only got bomb pots on our non-time games in the last year and it’s blown up with 2-3 players per table pushing hard on the others to play them.

I scooped one the other night with 9865 rainbow that hit nut straights on the river both boards, somehow dodging 3 flush and 2 boat draws against 4 other all-in players. That $500-600 pot may have got me 1/3rd out of being bomb pot stuck

Yeah, it's the degeniest of degen games.

Pretty much someone is all in on every hand. Several players play every hand.

Wait around for the nuts and you're going to be paid off. The difference between a good night and a bad night is how often your nut flush board does not pair on the river.

Since Covid I just haven’t jumped back into the routine of regular or even semi regular poker. Probably will get back into it at some point. On a big trip right now in Thailand (Bangkok and Koh Samui) and headed to Singapore next will see if they have poker at Marina Bay Sands that’s an amazing casino can’t wait to see it.

Went down to bullets last night to play big o cash. They run it every Tuesday and Thursday.

I knew almost everyone at the table. One total donk, two nits, one decent player and one guy who I remember playing with a long time ago but didn’t really remember how he played, but he had 2k in front of him so I assumed he was pretty good, we’ll call him Mike.
Never managed to get in good against the donk, Mike was to my left and kept raising like crazy and after seeing what he was playing figured out he wasn’t very good. Built my stack from $300 to $400. Other good player gives Mike a huge gummy. An hour later Mike is starting to have issues reading the board and figuring out the lows.

Got AsKcQsQd3c, potted per flop, Mike repots, a couple others and I call.

Flop is JsTs2x. I pot, Mike repots, I’m all in for $400, he insta calls. I figure I’m up against a set, he turns over KQ952 rainbow.  I’m ahead and just need to avoid an 8. Next card is 4s and he’s drawing dead for the high and needs an A or 3 to get the low but river is a 5 and I scoop a $900 pot.

A few hands later i get AAJT2, one of the best starting hands you can get, I pot preflop, Mike repots and we’re heads up. Flop is AK8. I pot, he calls. Turn is a K, I bet $100, he thinks for a bit and calls. There’s no way he’s got kings, river is a J, I bet another $100 and he quickly calls. I show the aces and he mucks, boom, another $500+ pot.  That was pretty much the peak, ended up cashing for $1284 after buying in for $300.

Going to try to get down there every Thursday I can.

Bagged a 20 BB stack in the 2nd flight (of 6) in our $400 $100k guaranteed tourney. Return Sunday in the money

729 entries. 75 returning, all in the money. Avg stack 243k. Chip leader 614k. 2/4/4k blinds to start the day

I’m 68th with 93k, so just need 1-2 hands early to get comfortably in the mix

Any reason we aren't repotting the AAJT2 vs Mike? Just trapping? Feels like guys like that are never repot-folding, and we def have big equity edge there. Nice hands!

BTN (150k) opens to 10k. I jam ATo in BB and he snaps with K3s?

Flop A and turn another, full double up

You still had like 18 bigs here? Gross! You'll have to teach me how to fade the "snap with hand that is clearly never winning" play.

Even this hand is only a 60-40 against most hands. I'd rather see the flop and have an easy choice then get a K72 or 996 flop and have to make a decision on calling his pot bet.

I guess that was going to be my followup, which flops are bad enough that with that much in pre we think we don't have equity against his range to continue?  Paired ones with only one low card, monotone ones probably, though how often does he have that flush, and if we can get low, it can still be worth it depending how much went in pre vs left behind. I'm def not at all a Big O expert, was def an honest question, not a "this is a mistake" question haha.

it's a good question, and has me questioning if I'm not aggressive enough pre flop some times. I'd much rather be in for 60 preflop and fold then be in for $200 and call light post flop.

I know if I have A2345 I'm not jamming preflop as it's guaranteed all high cards if I do. I will raise and call a re-raise, but I'm not 3 betting.

The first thing I do when I see a flop is count up how many cards give me the nuts. If I need two specific cards I'm probably getting out. If there's 4 cards that give me the nut low and 3 others that give me nut strait or I have a nut flush draw I'm probably calling any bet or potting myself. The other big factor is the player

So with the AAJT3 I'm calling a 289 flop, AT7, TT5 or a KQ5. I'm not calling any flop with 3 cards under 9 if there's a 3 in it.

If I'm heads up and have the nut low and someone is jamming I may not call unless I got top 2 pair or better as getting quartered is a very easy way to lose money. One of the books I read actually mentions the easiest way to spot a bad player is they are getting quartered all the time.

The only people I see potting and re-potting pre flop in big O are idiots who are rebuying all the time. The smartest/winningest players will raise preflop but rarely 3 or 4 bet.

Yeah that all makes sense. And yep, getting quartered is brutal, but as the SPR gets smaller, sometimes gotta eat that turd. Say the pot is 250 and you have 200 behind. If you fold, you have 200.  If you call allin headsup and get quartered, you have 225. And of course sometimes we think we are getting quartered but we either get lucky or our opponent was stupid.

Def agree that I don't wanna get it in with 5 low cards. My thought was just with AAJT3 that we will have good equity on so many boards, esp if we have nut suits. Or AA542, etc.

Flop 732, Mike jams, donk #2 calls

turn 7, donk #2 asks “does the 7 still play for low”

People start talking dealer and mike tell them to shut up

donk 2 hems and haws, calls

river K, mike jams, donk 2 calls

mike has 23455, donk 2 scoops with AK4xx

mike is super tilted

donk 2 was waiting for hold em, gets seat after next hand, mike requests to move to hold em

As a follow up to previous story, had turned $1000 into $300. Favorite hand during the downturn

I have AA2s3s6. I raise preflop and get 2 callers. Flop is 4s5s7.
I’m trying to figure out how to get them all in and they pot and repot ahead of me. I repot and all three of us are all in.
turn is a 3, river is 6s, giving me straight flush and nut low.
First guy turns over A2 and second guy turns over 7s8s.
So nut low, straight flush gets me 1/4 of the pot.

So it’s about 2am and the game is breaking. The hold em game going on happened to break right before us and 3 guys, 2 of which I know are complete idiots say they will play big o.  The other guy who came over turned out to be really bad at big o but had a horseshoe up his ass and ran $500 up to $3000.
Favorite hand I had with him I had AAJT3. He raises $30 pre flop and 2 of us call. Flop AJ3. Other guy in hand pots, idiot raises to $200 and we both call. Turn is a 5, they pot and repot and I’m out. What did he raise preflop with? K9742. Other guy had 42 too and they chop.

we end up playing till 7am and I turned the $300 into $999, so I ended up playing 13 hours and lost $1.

played the big o tournament at the lodge Monday and finished 4th and won $644.

played the double board bomb pot tournament Thursday and fired two bullets and was out just after the first break. Drove down to bullets for the big o and ended up winning $250

came up to TCH for the Friday PLO. First buy in didn’t win one hand out right, just chopped one hand. Chip leader had $200k and I had around $20k. He raised preflop and I called with KdQsJd9s.
flop is Td9dTc. I jam and he instantly calls and shows T9. Turn is a small card and I stand up assuming I’m drawing dead. Turns out I wasn’t as the Qd hits giving me a straight flush.
Got going hitting straights and flushes and ran it up to 150k. Other big stack kept knocking people out. We got down to two and first payed $1275 and second $850. He had around $400k and I had $150k in chips. I offered him $1125 and me $1000 and he took it.

now playing hold em waiting to degen it up playing at the plo bomb pot table

Guy sits down with $500. I know I’ve played with him and kinda remember him as a dick.
My hand is 2456

Flop is 223 and KQ3

I check, he pots for $45, only I call.
turns are 6’s on both boards. I check, he bets $100, I call.
rivers are 2 and 7 giving me quad 2s and the nut straight

I pot, he repots, I call. He had KQQ7

he stands up, says “I guess I’m not as good at this game as I thought, how the fuck do you call $100 with the lowest boat possible?” leaves to go play hold em.

whole table was laughing at him, apparently no one likes him

Played Big O tournament at Lodge on Monday. With 16 people left I had 800k in chips out of 3.7 million, no one else had $200k. Don’t win a hand for an hour, enter the final table with about 250k.
Limp along for a bit, one guy refuses to chop and we’re down to 5 when I go on a run and end up knocking two out and we’re down to 3 and a have 3.3 million of the chips.
I end up losing 5 all ins in a row, getting scooped each time and each time I was a huge favorite after the flop. I have AA234, villain KJ985, flop J65, two bricks. Next hand I have J6432 he has AAKT8, flop J65, turn 5, river brick.
End up chopping and I got $1334.

Went to bullets to play big o on Thursday and got slaughtered.

came to TCH for the plo tournament, was chip leader with 4 left and we chopped and I won $730.

I haven't played in months, just really haven't felt like playing. Plus, who knew eating healthy and working out was so damn expensive (sarcasm).  Play in a little $20 rebuy home tourney with the joy of dealing and playing at one of the two tables. Worked out though cause having to deal kept me from playing bullshit hands and got max value out of the two hands i won before the break. Plus since i was being nice and dealing my buddy gave  me a free add on. Get down to one table pretty quick and i can finally stop dealing. These players were not good at all so i was just playing strict. Chip leader was calling with any A in his hand and people couldn't stop bluffing him and he just kept calling. So by the time i get heads up with him he has like a 6 to 1 chip lead. This is how his whole night went.

I get 64 off in the bb, no raise preflop so we see a flop of 67x. He bets i call (want to say the blinds were 1k/2k at this time and he's betting the min.) and i call. Turn is a 7, he bets, i call. River is a 10 and he check and i check. He turns over 10 9 off. Nice hand.

last hand i have K8ss in sb and raise it to 5k, he calls. Flop comes 8 high, he checks and i jam for a lot less than he has. He turns over AJ and a J hits the river. Good Game lol

I would give y'all more hands but this was a few weeks ago so i only half way remember the those two hands. But i was happy with 2nd place since i hadn't played in months and don't usually do well in tournaments. Plan was to make the heads up last awhile since he was drinking and i knew he wanted to go out after it ended. Oh well.

I'll be in Shreveport Saturday  night for my bday, we'll see if i can sit down and play poker or stay upstairs like a true degen with my buddies.

I’m thinking everyone completely shuts down here and the only way to milk this is to get a bit more is a smallish bet, but the SPR is already 1:1

I put in 12k and they both fold, claiming AA and JJ

I randomly stumbled on this stream earlier, and left it running while I had the  all star game on. Crazy, crazy f'n stream. The dude driving all the action just showed up to the lodge for the first time yesterday, and he won $170K apparently. When I started watching, his VPIP seems likes it 110%. Its a 25/50 game with multiple 6 figure pots.

@Lurch they say this guy calling himself Tesla is from Florida....does he play in your haunts?

I'll link to the craziest hand I've seen in a long time, but really the last couple hours of the stream are entertaining. You can see the pros sizing this dude up, but he keeps winning his share. At this point in the evening, this Tesla dude is on super, mega-monkey tilt(I assume) and he is pushing every single hand. And Polk is also stuck ~$200K.

If Doug doesnt ask him to show a card, he probably calls, but Tesla shows him a deuce, fucking lulz.

You sit down at a card house playing $1/$2 NLH. Full table. You don't know anyone.

Effective stack is $300. You are UTG literal first hand, and are dealt 8-8.

You raise to $8, and HJ, CO, Button, and BB call. $33 in pot.

Flop is 8-4-6 rainbow. You bet $20 targeting all kinds of shit. Button and BB call. $93 pot.

Turn is 7, bringing in a spade draw. Check or bet?

I checked and it checked through.

River is King of clubs, so the board reads 8-4-6-7-K, rainbow. BB checks to you. What size are you value betting here? Are you ever bet/folding? Is the button ever checking a straight on the turn with that spade draw?

I value bet $45 and the button jams for $227 more. I fold and he doesn't show.

I like how you played it the whole way.

Probably a good fold. Not too many lower limit players are willing to bluff a 100bb stack on river, and two pair almost certainly wouldn’t raise you.

Since it’s the very beginning of your session, I’d be even more inclined to fold, not having any idea if this is the rare player willing to make a bold bluff here

Yeah I don't think he was bluffing, but 888 is about the best hand I ever have there. Maybe I need to play more T-9 UTG.

I’m betting turn for sure. As played, bet fold river seems def right. Maybe he had T9ss or A5s so wasn’t worried about a spade river. Agree with Lurch, it’s a rare 1/3 player who can bluff jam a river here. If he did, tip the cap, on to Cincinnati.

Sat down at the $1-2 NLHE on Monday at TCH waiting for my seat at PLO bomb pot table.

First hand UTG raises $10, I look at A7 offsuit and fold.
Flop is As7s3 and I'm kicking myself as UTG bets $30 and 4 call
Turn is 10s. UTG bets is $50 and 3 call.
River 6c. UTG All in for around $200, call, call.

UTG shows 5h4d, other two muck

Maybe I'm to jaded from playing PLO and BigO but
WTF ARE YOU CALLING $200 with on a flush and strait board if you can't beat a strait!?!
Pat myself on back for folding preflop.

I play pretty tight, raising $15 preflop with TT and taking it down after i bet $25 into an AQ3 flop. Maybe play 2-3 other hands, nothing past the flop.

Once a round they play a PLO bomb pot. I look down at TT83 and think "once again total garbage like every previous bomb pot".

Flop T82 and 962. Bet out $25 and get 3 callers
Turns are both 2. Bingo, nuts. Bet $100, get one caller
Rivers are 4 and 7. Bingo, strait on the bottom, jam for the rest of my chips. Asian next to me hems and haws for a couple of minutes, replaying hand out loud over and over, makes motion to fold a couple of times, finally throws a chip in. I turn over, he mumbles something, looks back and forth at his hand and the board about 5 times, then finally mucks.

As I'm raking in my chips I get told my seats ready at plo bomb pot table, so I ended up hitting and running the shit out of the hold em table.
