His final three were aggy, FSU, and Miss. State?

Home Alone Kevin GIF

Surprised he didn't include VaTech and BC to round out the maroon schools

Oh my goodness a recruit from Texas

https://247sports.com/player/demarrion-johnson-46146968/

I really have to question what kind of NIL package they're throwing out there to get a 2027 kid to commit. His ranking is low, but maybe he's an obvious riser. But even if he is...what did it take? Either they're overpaying, or if this kid rises he's going to just come back to the table later. Seems weird to do anything this early except for a QB, maybe, or some other obvious can't miss talent type.

I mean, we have a 2027 commit. Sounds like Epps might be the truth, though.

LB has to be an easier spot to evaluate ahead of time than OL. I think you understand the point I'm getting at, regardless.

We've reached the point where Wiltfong is putting in aggy picks for a bunch of top recruits (John Meredith, RB williams-callis, DL from Georgia, ect.).

Ah yes.. because early commitments 16 months out are always rock solid.

I mean, Landen Williams-Callis is really fucking good, but he's really short. They list him at 5'7.5 and 190 lbs. Yeah, OK on that weight. He might be Darren Sproles, but let's be real, he's not. I can't see Sark taking a kid who is 5'6-5'7, but Choice offered him last June, so what would he even play here? He's not going to be 190 lbs at his listed height, he just isn't. I can't see a growth spurt of 3", but weirder things have happened. And to add to the lore, he apparently runs a 4.48. K.

So, here are the "name" teams: min of 3 players (aside from Auburn. They're that bad at the position).

SEC-

Aggy: Moss - 5'11 210; Rueben Owens II - 5'10 215; Amari Daniels - 5'9 197 (he's terrible and small af)

UGA: Nate Frazier - 5'10 210; Josh McCray - 6'1 235 lbs; Chauncey Bowens - 5'11 225; Cash Jones - 6'0 185

Bama: Jam Miller 5,10 221; Richard Young 5'11 210; Kevin Riley 5'11 190

Tenn: DeSean Bishop - 5'10 208; Star Thomas - 6'0 210; Peyton Lewis - 6'1 212

UF: Jaden Baugh - 6'1 231; Ja'Kobi Jackson - 5'11 215; Duke Clark - 6'1 211

OU: Tory Blaylock - 5'12 203; Xavier Robinson - 6'0 240; Taylor Tatum - 5'10 212 (If he's still alive. I have my doubts); Gabe Sawchuck - 5'10 195; irrelevant. Although he might be better off here if he ever wants to see the field. Everyone on their roster is abysmal.

AUB: Jeremiah Cobb - 5'11 200; Damari Alston - 5'9 215; This room is moribund outside of Cobb. It's just so, so bad. Freeze should be arrested and fired for negligence on this position. The second worst I've seen from a "name" team outside of ou (see above)

LSU: Caden Durham 5'9 205; Harlem Berry - 5'11 190; JT Lindsey - 6'0 190

Tex: Tre Wisner - 6’0 190; Ced Baxter - 6’1 227; James Simon - 5’11 205; Jerrick Gibson - 5’10 205; Christian Clark - 6’0 212; Derek Cooper - 6'1 205 (recruit)

B1G-

Michigan: Justice Haynes - 5'11 210 (fucking stud. Leads all RB'sw/ 700+ yds and close to 170-200 more than the next closest); Jordan Marshall - 5'11 215; Jasper Parker - 6'0 205

tOSU: Bo Jackson - 6'0 217 (absolute hoss); CJ Donaldson. - 6'2 232; James Peoples - 5'10 206

Penn State: Kaytron Allen - 5'11 217; Nick Singleton - 6'0 224; Jabree Coleman - 6'0 210

Ore: Jayden Limer - 5'11 205; Dierre Hill, Jr. - 5'11 205; Noah Whittington - 5'9 203; Jordon Davison - 6'0 236 (stud)

USC: Waymond Jordan - 5'9 210; King Miller - 6'0 210; Eli Sanders - 5'10 200

ND (Independent, but might as well be B1G): Jeremyah Love - 6'0 214; Jadarian Price - 5'11 210; Nolan James, Jr. - 5'10 215

My point being is he's not coming here, even though in the beginning I wanted him, but saw his H/W. They're (247) going to drop him come the 2027 cycle. He might be electric, but he's overrated as a 5* on 247, like most recruits at this time of the year.

He went 10.5 this summer, so the 40 time tracks (no pun).  He's a thickly built kid.  There may not be a ton of comps out there, but I hope length isn't an impediment to a committable offer from Texas - he's special to watch, for sure.  If there were any concern, I'd think it would be carrying such a heavy workload for four years in high school.  Kid has been tackled a whole lotta times.

Ah, so he's like a Johnathan Gray where he's been fed the ball a shit ton of times? A lot of wear on the tires?

Yea he's been their best player since his freshman year.  His uncles/cousins were built like that and both played in the league and coached him in the Richmond Oilers organization - he's probably carried the ball 30 times a week since he was 6.

Assuming Maxpreps data is accurate Landen has had 0 games with 30+ carries, and 1 game with 30 total touches on offense in his high school career so far. This season he is averaging 20.66 total carries per game. That is almost identical to Jaydon Blue's junior season. Jaydon Blue didn't play varsity as a freshman and sat out his senior season so of course his total high school touches were way less.

So, let's just take away the carries, I don't care. He's extremely short and stocky, but where would he play? He couldn't hold up in the SEC or B1G. Blue is 5'9 200 and he couldn't run between the tackles because 1) he either couldn't muscle his way, has horrible vision, or both, and 2) was primarily used as a specialist.

Callis-Williams is 2-3" shorter than that, weighs the same. What could he even do? Admittedly, I know nothing about his hands, but Silas Bolden is 5'8, but even if you add 10 lbs to his body to make him the same (alleged weight) as Callis-Willaims, he still contributed mininimal outside of P/KO returns.

I dunno, I just don't see this kid making any kind of impact at a major P4/P5 school. He isn't Barry Sanders, and I've already listed what kind of RBs major schools recruit these days for obvious reasons. He's too short at 5'7.  The last player was Duece Vaughn at 5'6, but again, he was playing in a high school league.

I'm just looking for anyone's thoughts on this kid and where he could play both at university and position, and/or how effective he would be.
