lol, that sounds like a you thing.

anyway, the play sucked for all involved, especially Romanov. I will be the first to admit if a player on my team does some dirty shit because I want that gone like the plague from any team I follow. I truly don't believe Mikko's intent was to injure Romanov and the league agreed. what's likely not apparent to you is that it is obvious to us your bias when talking about anyone but colorado. but then again, that's my general observation about avs fans: very knowledgeable about their team, but that's where their hockey knowledge ends. it's ok, just admit you don't follow other teams and leave the league analysis to those who do. cheers.

Yes, Texans are well known for their in-depth hockey knowledge.

And you don't know shit about Mikko's intent.

Rantanen will have to answer for that hit in their next game against the Islanders, as he should. Intent doesn’t fucking matter here, he was out of control and laid a dirty hit. Let him answer the bell and take a few slashes to the back of his legs and move on. It’s fucking hockey.

lol, ok, I think Rantanen can hold his own. I doubt he's really concerned

He's a big dude, but he's soft.  There's a reason Landeskog always fought his fights. I don't think I've ever seen Mikko drop the gloves.

uh, no, it's the same reason Jamie or any captain steps in and fights for the best players on the team. they're too valuable to lose. the avs and stars have done just fine without Landeskog or Benn in the lineup. but lose Mac or Mak or Mikko or Robo and you have a problem. but whatever, we'll see, I guess. I still very much doubt mikko will lose any sleep over it

MacKinnon definitely fights his own fights, my dude.  Maybe if you watched games other than just the Stars you would know that.  Such a wealth of NHL knowledge you are...

lol, ok, it's been more than a year since he's had one and it had been three years before that. gtfo with that shit. he's not a fighter. neither is mikko. that doesn't mean they're soft. that means they don't want to fuck up their career. anyway, moving on. jfc

Nate is mean as hell.  He'll fight anyone but he's smart enough not to most of the time.  Mikko is just soft, dude.  It's who he is.  Doesn't make him any less of a scorer, but that's just not him.

Has Rantanen ever registered a fight in the NHL? I’ve never seen him drop the gloves or even start a scrum in front of the net, though I don’t watch many Avs/Stars games. He’s a big forward but toughness and intimidation really aren’t a function of his game. Guess we’ll see how he does when he’s forced to answer the bell against the Islanders.

In 10+ years of watching him play (and I watch probably 90% of all Avs games) I can't recall a single time he's dropped the gloves.  I might be wrong because I'm not gonna look it up, but I don't remember it. I remember lots of times where guys would try and start it with him and Landy would step in.

I've watched him play in literally hundreds of games.  I've never seen him fight that I can recall.  If you want to prove me wrong so badly, look it up yourself.

I stopped caring about this subject several posts ago. This is now me laughing at your self-assertiveness, wrong or not. just funny to me when you could literally spend 5 seconds, get the answer, and know you're right. just amazing cognitive dissonance. anywho ooga booga hockey fights are super important that's why they're almost non-existent (and therefore more meaningful) in the modern game. but go on if that's your metric for manliness, toughness, and hockey prowess. you're gonna super hate the game going forward

Toughness and intimidation are absolutely critical parts of the game (see the Florida Panthers and what they’ve accomplished the past 3 years). Not sure what point you’re trying to drive home here, but maybe having to watch Jason Robertson play has soften your stance towards fighting and toughness in general. Fighting isn’t going anywhere and won’t for a long time. In fact, compared to the mid 2010s, the physicality and fighting has increased as the pussies on Twitter (and apparently this thread) have been shunned for trying to make the sport soft. Let your Finnish giant answer the bell and then move the fuck on.
