Serious question:

Is anyone available to drive me to MDA and back on the 23rd to have stitches removed, evaluation, etc. ?

We can take my car, which is brand new off the lot less than a year ago, I pay for everything of course.

You will also get to enjoy my whitty repertoire the entire trip.

I see no mention of the nurse practitioner, so hard pass.

I hate to wait for the test results. Fortunately, the app that my providers use often posts test results within hours.  Especially labs.  I know that some providers will not post test results until the physician reviews them so that he or she can tell you any potential news that would otherwise freak you out.

But always a bunch of fun to see the NED if that happens.

It's a struggle, yesterday was just a really "bad" day. Pain meds not working, stomach doing acrobatics, barely strong enough to get from the living room to the bathroom, just everything fucking sucked. It had me scared about how maybe the decline is faster than I thought and I was reevaluating my entire timeline outlook.

Today has been a very very "good" day. The swing is wild and all the stuff that seemed overwhelming and sucked has been totally minimal and easy to deal with. It's a real motherfucker mentally as I continue to give up more control of my life and let other people do things for me.

Something else that has been really hard is my dog died back in August. I adopted her 6 months before I was diagnosed and she was an absolute rock in my life, a soulmate dog if there ever was one. She got me though the dark chemo days the way only the non-stop love of a pitbull can. Going through yesterday without her snoring on my lap was very difficult and I would have given all the money I have left for her to be back with me.

Sorry to hear of the struggle, but happy to hear the good moments are still with you.  May they continue.

The best thing about dogs is their unconditional love.  The worst is that they leave us too soon.

I don't want to start a religious discussion, but I think that most people believe that we should "help each other". Be it religious or otherwise I think we all get a good feeling out of helping others. It makes society "work properly". It makes us "proper" human beings.

The other side of that coin is that there must be a person to receive that "help". The person who receives the help, the "weaker" of the two, is serving a vital role in the life of the giver. It's not a role any of us like, but it serves an important part in the lives of human beings. It also provides an outlet for the recipient to feel and express gratitude. Gratitude does not mean groveling. Gratitude is a sincere and joyful thing that helps the whole of humanity.  To receive help is a vital part of how it all works.

Man, I wish I could give this more than one +rep. Empathy might just be one of the evolutionary superpowers that helped us survive as a species when we were all just little tribes of wanderers, having to look out for one another. If only people could just keep extending that empathy a little farther out, we might actually get somewhere.

I got great news this morning - I AM CANCER-FREE!

Well, that's good.  If you're gonna get cancer, you certainly don't want to pay for it.

JK -- congrats, man.  Have a celebratory holiday.  Two chicks at the same time, all that stuff.
