  1. Can we start a PSA stating that sitting in a running car in a closed garage is bad for you, and just kind of see what happens?
  2. If I ask him, would that count as one of the 142?
  3. 'Only' 7,190 today in SA, but I expect that to climb with these winds for the next day or 2. We're still way below average for the season, and we're about where the numbers start to decline. There will be peaks as cold fronts come through, but we should be on the downhill side of the bell curve. I think our curve this year will be offset a little, meaning, we're not out of the woods yet, not by a long shot.
  4. A little while ago my wife and I were flying back from somewhere, and on the first leg, the guy in front of me was watching it. So I watched without sound for about an hour. I told my wife about it, so we watched the whole thing on the second leg. I enjoyed both viewings.
  5. Don't know about eye drops. I wear Kareem goggles all season. There's a front coming Thursday which should make things a lot worse.
  6. That alphabet part should be made into a poster and posted in elementary schools. Maybe even middle and high schools. Sesame Street could turn it into a song.
  7. Raise a toast to Eugene Goodman, American hero.
  8. Are you starting onions from seed, or from the sets (like green onion starters)? I've never tried from seed. The sets are pretty forgiving. You need to loosen the soil pretty good so that the onions have room to grow. But you just stick them in the dirt 1/2" or so and that's it. I think you're supposed to fertilize them, but I'm bad about that.
  9. I think most of my onions survived the freeze last week. Besides that, I just spread some crimson clover seeds as a cover crop in one of my beds. Tommy James would approve. Last summer sucked. The plants gave up, and so did I, so I'm kind of starting my beds over this year. Hence the cover crop. It's supposed to add nitrogen to the soil. I've also got a decent compost pile I'll be adding to the beds. I need to figure out my rain barrel system to get that water closer to the garden.
  10. In San Antonio, yesterday was 12,960. Today is 7,090. Both are pretty high numbers. In the last 7 years, the highest single day was 32,920 in 2018. So no, this isn't the worst ever. And it's going to get much worse. I imagine the next 40 days or so will be like this, but with nyquil/dayquil/whiskey:
  11. That makes it sound like her family killed her.
  12. I could do a Twilight Zone marathon every day until maybe late January.
  13. Atmos forgot to donate to Greg's campaign.
  14. Agreed. It usually stops raining for good on July 5.
  15. That reminds me of one of my favorite gifs:
