  1. He'd never have to deal with them because they'd flee or he'd drive them into the portal before the Summer was over. That being said he's not coming................this year. After next year?
  2. Buckeye I work with brought up something interesting. He said that tosu has never focused on cultivating whale donors to the AD. Instead, they've created a system of thousands and thousands of relatively small time 2-10K annual donations, which are tied to the right to buy a couple of season tickets. He brought up the point that tosu just recently received their first ever 8 figure athletic donation, and it barely cracked the threshold at 10M even, which is kind of odd for a school that--checks google--has a 5B+ overall endowment. Their goal is apparently to remove the influence of Big Cigars who think it's "their" program. And while I'd guess that they still have some influential boosters, I'd also guess it's nothing similar to our shitshow where boosters feel entitled to start their own rogue coaching searches while the current guy is still employed. I'd take a wild guess and say that our Big Cigar culture was probably not viewed as a positive, particularly if he was coming from somewhere that limited that as much as it could.
  3. That some men just want to watch the world burn?
  4. Not so sure about that. Hadn't they played in three BCS championship games in the ten years before Meyer came on board? As for the NFL gig, the NFL is engineered for every team to go .500 every year. The separation comes from coaching, the GM and good ownership. Coaching is a huge question mark since, I believe, Meyer has no NFL experience whatsoever. The GM and ownership have proven themselves to suck. I see a Black Monday in his near future.
  5. I'm getting sick of the OSU Bucknuts getting everything they want.
  6. Penalized? Haven't other teams been benefiting from choices made by Michigan.
  7. And he'll still be making seven figures (for a guy who doesn't need to work another day in his life) doing what's essentially a zero-stress, part-time job that he seems to enjoy a great deal and is one that doesn't piss off his wife and daughters. Simply backing up the money truck to this guy isn't the be all and end all, and if he doesn't come, it's not necessarily because someone in Austin fucked it up.
  8. The McNamara kid looks like he has some talent. Now that he's the starter though, I'm sure that Harbaugh and his staff will get right to fucking him up like they have their last seven or eight quarterbacks.
  9. For a moment there, I was questioning whether we want Day to come be Meyer's OC.
  10. Perhaps, they're just preparing to let the Prius slide into the rockin' chair. Safe as in your mother's womb, darlin'
  11. Just not happy with McLaren's race (and qualifying) management. It's way too conservative and has seemed to have neutered Lando making a 7th or 8th place finish his ceiling. In today's qualifying conditions, it had the predictable result of both drivers near the back of the grid.
  12. I was driving through Ohio last week and stopped at a truck stop just East of Columbus to get some good diner food. So, after I'm done eating and ready to get on the road, I go to the bathroom to take a shit and as I'm wiping my ass, I notice some graffiti on the wall that said "FOR A GOOD TIME BE HERE AT 8:50 PM ON XX DATE --BUCKEYE BASS." I realize that it's 8:48 on XX date. I furiously try to get my ass wiped before Buckeye Bass shows up to rape me, but before I can, the stall door gets kicked open and before me stands the most hideous tOSU t-shirt alum you can imagine. He looks at me and say, "Boy, Urban is in the final negotiating stage with Texas" and turns and walks away. Take it for what it's worth, but that's what I heard.
  13. And by the way, Ivy League Bob, that's two run on sentences in the first paragraph. There should be a comma between school and so and between it and but. The second paragraph is even worse. I'm sure that you were off on Saturday mornings taking Princeton Prep classes to get into the Ivy League, but the rest of us were home watching cartoons..........conjunction junction what's your motherfucking function.
  14. Yes and no, and I think that plays into our favor. From his stint on Fox, I don't think he's lost any love for OSU. The grin he had when they started the halftime show of the MIchigan game was the very definition of shit eating. I think he views what happened to him at OSU as between him and the President (who's gone now) and the board. On the other hand, I think the animosity between he and mensa is real, and it's spectacular. For him, the notion of coming into Austin and doing what mensa failed at completely gives him at least a 3/4 chub.
  15. I think that unless they have a certified home run hire lined up, and we all know who that is, then there will be a strong impulse to write this off as 2020 and put him on the hot seat for 2021. Of course, that will likely lead to Meyer to USC if he wants to get back into coaching. I think a few things could seal Mensa's fate though. Clearly, the wheels coming off on the rest of the season. I also think Meyer sending a message to CDC that he is eager to take over and bring Texas back would do it. But if Herman finishes out a 3 loss year with a close loss to WVU, my gut tells me his dumb ass is coming back. Then again, I have no insider information and am just spitballing and speculating like almost everyone else.
  16. Agreed. He's an entitled rich kid who thinks he drives like Hamilton when he's mediocre at best. Any team not owned by his father would probably be parting ways with him at season's end.
  17. I have a gnawing pit in my stomach that says yesterday bought Herman a 2020-Covid Mulligan, provided the team finishes strong. He can lose one more (probably WVU) and as long as it's not an ass raping, the administration will just write this year off.
  18. The BMD's, their factions and their entitlement are a huge part of the problem. It's probably too late to put that toothpaste back into the tube, but if UT could base the foundation of their athletic fundraising on a shitload of 2K donations and less on a few whales who then think they have "ownership" of the program, UT athletics would be in a much better place. Boosters are always going to be a problem, but I seriously would like to look at some other blueblood programs and see if they have the whale problem to the extent that we do.
