  1. Damn, Lobo. That really hits yada yada. First one I ever saw was 1962, under a bridge that my Grandpa was fishing off of. Hid that bad boy in my tackle box and went back to the car "not feeling well". Sue Lyon was the featured talent. You never forget your first. Started me down a path that I have never strayed far from. Poor grammar. Sue me.
  2. Suppose that you had 20 (1970-90) years worth of Playboy magazines in Rubbermaid totes that you wanted to get rid of. Might be a few Penthouse and Oui in the mix. Can't vouch for the sanitary nature of all of it. How would you do it?
  3. My Dad bought scads of those Mausers from Sarco and the like back in the day. I have quite a few of the actions left and have been doling them out to a cousin of mine that just opened his shop. Most of the high powers in my rack are on surplus actions that Dad and I reworked. I did most of the metalwork and he did all of the wood. He bought a dozen of the 1909 Argentine Mausers and those are like gold now. They were so cheap at the time that we did things to them that make me cringe now. We cut one in half and welded it back together 1 1/2" shorter and made a 6mm BR when that was brand new. I'm not sure where that one is now but I would love to get it back for my kids.
  4. This weather has been as strange as any I can remember. I played golf in shorts and a tee shirt yesterday. Today the high will be in the low 20's and the winds are gusting to 30-35. We'll be back in the 50's for the weekend. Crazy shit. After seeing @mooseoutfront pictures, I feel pretty comfy with our situation.
  5. I would add "Sinkhole" to the DBT list. Like to invite him for some pot roast beef and mashed potatoes and sweet tea Follow it up with some banana pudding and a walk around the farm Show him the view from McGee Town Hill Let him stand in my shoes and see how it feels To lose the last thing on earth that's real I'd rather lose my legs and arms Bury his body in the old sink hole Bury his body in the old sink hole Bury his body in the old sink hole under cold November sky Then damned if I wouldn't go to church on Sunday Damned if I wouldn't go to church on Sunday Damned if I wouldn't go to church on Sunday And look the preacher in the eye.
  6. It's not my place to give you wise advice but I can tell when you post sober and when you post drunk or high. Listen to these guys and get your shit sorted out. You have plenty to offer.
  7. What kind of occupation do you have that allows for marathon wood chopping and making bank?
  8. Come on up!! My house overlooks an abandoned gravel quarry that was flooded 20 years ago. We can sit on my back deck and shoot a limit any evening you want.
  9. I'm not a waterfowler so I don't know if it is usual or not but we have thousands of ducks still around our place in central Kansas. Our weather has been unusually warm with a few really cold weekends thrown in. I'm guessing they haven't felt the need to run for cover yet.
  10. I'm no stranger to Allsup's. That one is a must, probably on the way into town.
  11. I've seen the Cadillacs. Odd for sure. If Tech is still playing in late March I doubt that I would be able to get a ticket. TT is one of the programs I root for because they were never afraid to schedule WSU.
  12. The wife and I are meeting my daughter and her husband at an airbnb between Canyon and Amarillo for a week in late March. Gonna be there by morning. The plan is to spend the days hiking various Palo Duro trails and then cooking meals at the house unless there are any must-see places in the area. This thread is pretty old so I'm hoping there might be some updated info for food and drink. @Nicole44 you know this area, right? Thanks for any help.
  13. Very much, this.
  14. This has been my play as well
  15. I have a Post-War FN Magnum Mauser action that I put a 7mm Rem on. Very smooth and superbly finished. It came with the military style safety in 1948 that had to be upgraded for scope use and I'm pretty sure I got the new style safety from Flaig's. They were a pretty good source for stock blanks and refined hardware back in the day. My Dad and I visited the shop in the early 70's. They couldn't have been nicer and took us back where the sausage was made. The smell of Hoppe's and walnut was intoxicating.
  16. Wordle 206 2/6 ⬜⬜🟩🟨⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩
  17. I would try bedding it first. All of the bolt guns I have left are either 700s or 98 Mauser actions. I haven't had a factory 700 in all my time that I couldn't make shoot and it usually was a bedding or trigger issue. I have purchased several Ebay 700 takeoff barrels just to hang on an empty action for my kids and all of them have been shooters. Maybe I've just been lucky.
  18. I'll have to try the butter. We eat rice with sugar, cinnamon and whole milk.
  19. I went irate, union and SURLY. BAM!! Got it on the next guess.
  20. Gotta be on the games word list. Gibberish won't fly

  22. I think inert would be a good starting word. Or Irate
  23. Looks like your degree meter is low on warming oil.
  24. It’s a big fish. So what?
  25. [sniff] WTF? The Pink Floyd thread that's still on Page 1 isn't good enough? [sniff] @Bogeywon
