  1. If you do not view the Baseball Forum, below tweet is courtesy of @Horny Bull. Would think softball will have similar schedule. The second entry is from a poster on the OU Softball Forum. ACCsoftball schedule plans:Max of 50 game season - 8 conf. weekends all w/ 4-game series + 3-team pods at select sites in place of ACC/B1G Challenge = 38 ACC games -Up to 12 non-conference games allowedI think SEC is doing something similar.I've read that the Big 10 is doing conference only.Anxious to hear what Big 12 is doing https://www.dirtburglars.com/forum/sports-forums/athletics/other-sports/594115-2020-2021-sooner-softball
  2. Pierce's contract expires in 2022. Normally, you do not want a coach to enter into the final year of his contract without an extension. But, Covid will have to be considered and the effect it will have on this and future seasons. Meaning how may games will be played, competition, etc. In Lobo's posts above it seems this season will not be normal. Meaning it may be difficult to determine progress unless there is a repeat of the 27-27 season in 2019. Last year's team started 14-3 (won Ark, Lost to LSU, Mizzou, Az, swept a weak Fullerton team which finished the season at 4-12). Pierce's resume includes a regular season B12 title and a trip to Omaha (0-2) in 2018. tl;dr: Pierce may be the "Teflon Don" of college baseball. Not enough evidence to convict. CDC may have a difficult decision.
  3. Sark's press conf prior to ND game. Very articulate and professional. Doesn't drink water every 2 min. At 12:43 discusses offense recruiting philosophy.
  4. Just like the baseball hire.
  5. Miss St players celebrating the fight in the locker room. Disgraceful !
  6. Good points. icymi, the Thamel column from the Urban thread. Full article is worth the read. https://sports.yahoo.com/as-college-football-coaching-changes-urban-meyer-isnt-only-one-who-could-jump-to-nfl-022802330.html Why would the NFL have more appeal than a job like Texas or USC? Few jobs in sports promise to change as precipitously as college football coaching in the next 12 months. The absolute control that so many of these coaches coveted is now waning, with the transfer portal, one-time transfer exemption and Name Image and Likeness rules all shifting the power away from the coaches. This isn’t an endorsement or indictment of that shift, just acknowledging facts.
  7. Keep patience and the holiday spirit, my friend. 🙂 Would appreciate a brief comparison/opinion of ATTVNow vs Uverse, cost, content, etc. Thanks !
  8. His younger brother, Terry Don, became the AD at Clemson and hired an unproven wide receivers coach named Dabo Swinney.
  9. https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/how-to-factory-reset-windows-10 Have you considered a Reset (link above) ? May be best to backup your files and choose the option to clean everything. I see the computer originally came with Win7. Some users upgrading from Win7 found it best to use the below method. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 Another option is to create Win10 installation media on a USB drive, wipe the drive, and install. Your HP may have Recovery software installed to wipe the drive. This is effective to eliminate malware. There is other free software available online to wipe the drive like DBAN. This method can be used if you upgrade to SSD. IT is not my forte, but have had no problems using these methods. If you previously upgraded to Win10, your license is digitally embeded in BIOS so no problem with activation.

Also, consider consulting an Elder Law Attorney. Can't recall Surly Attorneys that specialize, hopefully @TwiceHorn knows. @hornian ?

  17. https://www.barkingcarnival.com/2020/12/7/22160352/fred-akers-passes-away Stephen Ross, BC, posted a great vid of a celebration for Coach Akers last year before the LSU game. Interviews with many former players. Must see. Don't miss Robert Brewer at 6:53 or Doug Shankle at 8:25. (anyone know how to embed vimeo vids, would be great. may need a vimeo acct ?)
  18. https://big12sports.com/news/2020/12/6/big-12-football-coaches-teleconference-week-14.aspx He did the B12 Teleconference yesterday (1:32:30) though that can be done in isolation. When other head coaches have been diagnosed with Covid it was announced. However, Mensa may be different.
  19. No personal experience, but may want to check edmunds.com, nhtsa.gov for recalls, car and driver, and other sites for reviews. I did see a Consumer Reports article awhile back(don't have link) that reliability was not the highest for the 2020 Acadia and Chevy Traverse. Great looking vehicle !
  20. RIP, Fred ! Luv ya' Coach ! https://www.kvue.com/article/news/investigations/defenders/defenders-coach-fred-akers-family-visits-nursing-homes/269-f139246c-2d5b-49e7-9342-a7fb8f7c18e9 Fred had Alzheimers. Above story from KVUE in Aug details his family's plight to visit him due to COVID. Excerpt but please click on the story. Great vid/interview. He thrived there, interacting with others – and she visited every day. Then COVID-19 changed everything. The facility where he was staying went on lockdown, cut out activities and kept residents safely inside their rooms. Diane Akers' daily visits were limited to window visits through glass. “He didn't understand why his hand had to be on a piece of glass, why he couldn't feel anyone. Then he got disinterested because he couldn't feel the human touch, the hug, any of it. So it made him not talk at all,” she said. “It's like solitary confinement,” said Leslie Akers. “It was killing him.”
  21. Statesman story released at 11:40PM. (excerpts) Source: Citing health, Urban Meyer tells Texas officials he’s not returning to coaching Urban Meyer, the three-time national championship winner, has informed Texas officials that he is not pursuing another coaching position because of health issues, a university source with knowledge of the situation told the American-Statesman on Sunday night. However, “no decision” has been made about whether to move on from UT’s current coach Tom Herman, the source said. Texas officials are still “sorting through” their options, the source said. Horns247 first reported Meyer’s was leaning toward not pursing the Texas job. https://www.hookem.com/story/sports/2020/12/06/source-citing-health-urban-meyer-tells-texas-officials-hes-not-returning-coaching/3854666001/
  22. Good point but players are also normally off on Mondays.
  23. Thoughts and prayers for Tres and his wife Lindsey (former Texas softball player) who lost their son upon birth. Tragic news from Washington Nationals catcher Tres Barrera and his wife, Lindsey ... the couple just announced their baby boy passed away during delivery last week. "2020 has been a tough year for many, but it has definitely beaten us more than anything before," Tres said on Instagram on Friday. "On Sunday November 29,2020 my wife delivered our son at 7:12 am. Unfortunately our God decided he needed him in heaven before he was able to take his first breath." He continued ... "The emotion, the pain, are all things that one can not describe. As we mourn the loss of our baby boy, our faith remains strong and we will continue to take strides one day at a time in His name." Tres and Lindsey -- who tied the knot back in January 2018 -- shared the news of the pregnancy back in September ... saying they couldn't wait to meet the "little man." Tres praised Lindsey's strength through the challenging time ... saying, "I am most proud to call my myself the husband of my wife Lindsey. She is the strongest person I know and she will forever be my hero." "Forever our angel ... Kaius Lee Barrera" RIP. https://www.tmz.com/2020/12/04/mlb-tres-barrera-wife-mourn-loss-of-son-forever-our-angel/
  24. There should be a drug/mental health eval conducted upon entry which may be helpful. And other programs available. Has anyone spoken with an attorney ? - this is where there is a benefit. Would be good if someone communicates with him while incarcerated. Important for rehab. From your posts, it seems you are more at ease which is good. Respect for your concern.
  25. What do you think they will do @Helobious ? Excerpts, full article worth the read. I have always been perplexed by his defense. No one in minors ? What the Yankees do before 8 p.m. on Wednesday will reveal how they viewed a 60-game season from an individual standpoint and the impact of the financial hit they took by playing games without selling one ticket. Like all teams, the Yankees have to tender arbitration-eligible players contracts by Wednesday evening. If a player is tendered he is a signed player. If not tendered, he is a free agent. And the premier name in that situation is catcher Gary Sanchez, who turns 28 on Wednesday, a two-time All-Star who hit 34 home runs and drove in 77 runs during the 2019 season before producing a dreadful 2020 season in which he batted an unfathomable .147 (23-for-156) and struck out a whopping 64 times in 49 games and started just two of the seven Yankees playoff games. The buzz in the scouting industry is teams shouldn’t put too much stock in a two-month regular season when it comes to individual performances, good or bad. If the Yankees use that glass half-full approach, then they likely tender Sanchez a contract and prepare to give him a raise from the $5 million he made in the pandemic-impacted 2020 season. Should the Yankees not tender Sanchez a contract, it will be an indication they don’t believe he is worth that type of money coming off the year he had and an indication that the club is making an effort to get under the $210 million luxury-tax threshold for 2021. It is believed the Yankees took a financial hit upward of $220 million last season. After the season Hal Steinbrenner said the Yankees lost more money than any other team. One factor that favors Sanchez returning is that if he doesn’t, the Yankees have to find a catcher to pair with Kyle Higashioka and that would likely come from the free-agent pool that isn’t deep after J.T. Realmuto, who will be beyond the Yankees’ reach financially. https://nypost.com/2020/11/29/yankees-verdict-on-gary-sanchez-will-tell-us-everything/
