It is very apparent you have an impassioned concern which is much respected. May you make the best decision. But keep in mind his family's responsibility, both prior and current.

Nice article (excerpts). “Exactly as advertised,” Texas athletic director Chris Del Conte said after watching the game from the press box and robustly rooting on his team. “He’s one of the finest coaches in the country, and we’re fortunate to have him.” Still, there was no Gatorade bath for Schaefer in the locker room. “No,” Collier said, “it’s too early for that.” https://www.hookem.com/columns/20201125/bohls-vic-schaefer-makes-coaching-debut-strong-one-defensive-minded-texas/

May want to ask the dealer about fuel injector service. Frequent oil changes (3K-5K) will be good. For peace of mind, may want to consider an oil analysis by Blackstone Labs (link above). Cost is about $30 and will indicate if dilution is causing issues. (Disclaimer: Not a mechanic or well versed in subject, just try to keep up with today's engines)

Today's news, shareholder vote to dissolve. Excerpts: Luby’s Inc. shareholders have voted in favor of a plan to liquidate and dissolve the business, the latest step in the demise of the beloved Texas-based cafeteria chain. The liquidation plan was approved by 99 percent of stockholders during a Tuesday meeting, according to the company. The vote allows the company to move ahead with liquidation, selling off company assets and distributing proceeds among investors. After that, the company said, the plan is to dissolve Luby’s Inc. The action culminates years of struggle for the cafeteria brand and follows a Sept. 4 vote by the company’s board of directors to liquidate and dissolve the company Houston restaurateurs Christopher Pappas and Harris Pappas executed an agreement in September that allowed them access to confidential Luby’s information while they evaluated whether or not to make an offer, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, though it remains unclear if that outcome is still in play. https://www.statesman.com/business/20201118/lubyrsquos-liquidation-shareholders-ok-plan-to-dissolve-business

Concerning. Excerpts: Apple said Monday it'll change the way it logs data from your Mac about the apps you launch. Cybersecurity experts pointed out Thursday that a security feature was sending the information to Apple along with your IP address, which effectively ties data about the apps you use to your location. The data was also transmitted to Apple over the internet without any encryption, meaning that it'd be easy for a third party to intercept and read. The result of the data collection, security blogger Jeffrey Paul wrote, is that "you simply can't power on your computer, launch a text editor or eBook reader, and write or read, without a log of your activity being transmitted and stored." While the data collection was happening in previous versions of MacOS, Paul found that the tools some tech-savvy iMac and MacBook owners used to stop the data collection no longer work on computers running the latest version, Big Sur. Apple released the new operating system to the public on Thursday. Additionally, Apple's collection of IP addresses can no longer be defeated with a VPN, a service that masks your location with a proxy IP address. That's because the security feature (and some other Apple services) can circumvent VPNs on devices running the Big Sur operating system, according to security researchers who focus on Apple products, collecting users' true IP addresses instead. Now, Apple says it has stopped logging user IP addresses collected by the feature, and will delete previous logs of IP addresses. Without IP addresses, there's far less danger that records of app usage could be tied back to users. The company said it has never collected Apple IDs or other information that can identify a user's specific Mac with the app usage data. Apple also committed to other changes within the coming year. It'll encrypt data about app usage while it flows over the internet to the company's servers, and it will let users opt out of the security check that collects the data. https://www.cnet.com/news/apple-says-itll-change-how-it-collects-data-on-the-macos-apps-you-launch/

Very true, but to Madison's credit they won the district title in '18 and iirc in '19 due to primarily a weak 286A. Also, on their 3rd coach in 4 years. Mark Smith (Manziel's coach at Tivy) came from Judson after only 1 year at Judson (conflict with board) and stayed only 1 year at Madison (pursue other interests). Then John Campbell stayed only 1 year due to reportedly having an affair with the principal. Seems they have a good one now in Blaine Pederson who came from Johnson. But as you allude, the talent pool is not great. Is John Campbell still at Edinburg Vela ? Heard he had a DWI. Seems to be a playa' but a successful high school football coach.

If he doesn't reply, DM @F250 iirc, he has been through this. 🙂

No reports that I have seen. No publicity about Fall Camp except limited info on the baseball twitter site. Statesman stated they may do an interview with Pierce in the near future. NCAA Baseball Committee met earlier this week. Kendall has info behind paywall. May want to check his twitter for free info.

Supplements for us active olds, worth it? Suggestions?
torre replied to Patricio Swayze's topic in Can You Help Me With This?
Would be good to discuss supplements mentioned above with your doctor. As Irish indicates above, there can be side effects. Not familiar with BJJ. Do participants also have a secondary exercise regiment, particularly, strength training, aerobics, and stretching, yoga etc. Stretching can cure alot of ills and becomes more important as you age. -
Check LHN for replay dates if you miss.

Good points ! Gundy also describes Yurcich as being loyal more than once. TH mentioned he spoke with Gundy prior to hiring Yurcich - which means he got his "yes" man. :13 and 5:03

This ! Would also report it to Lowe's to try to identify the culprit. Sry for your misfortune, that is serious damage on a nice vehicle.

https://goutsa.com/coaches.aspx?path=football And hiring a coaching staff. Very experienced. OC/DC (SEC), Matt Mattox, OL, Rod Wright, DL, others with P5 experience.

Add Stanford to your list. In many ways our athletic programs mirror Stanford - strong in other sports, mediocre in football, baseball, basketball. Read/heard that university administrations are enamored with the NCAA Director's Cup which rates all sports. Stanford finished #1 in 2019, we were #4. Cancelled for this year. https://nacda.com/documents/2019/6/27//June28DIOverall.pdf?id=3678

Several MSN reps and other experienced people. May want to consider to join and ask a specific question. Win10 continues to have issues with drivers though the cause could be elsewhere. Did you update the driver from the Dell site ? However, they may no longer support your machine. What has worked for me is to find an older driver, even the original, for my system.

https://www.mlb.com/news/2020-world-series-rosters-breakdown Above is a nice article describing how the teams were built complete with a graph. Two best teams this year. Excerpt: Similar to the Rays, Los Angeles has made several small moves that have turned into steals, such as dealing for Enrique Hernández (a throw-in in the Dee Gordon trade with the Marlins in 2014) and Chris Taylor (from the Mariners for Zach Lee in 2016) and signing lightly regarded free agents Justin Turner ($1 million Minor League deal in 2014) and Max Muncy (released by Athletics in 2017). Of course, Tampa Bay knows a thing or two about finding value in under-the-radar free agents. Right-hander John Curtiss and lefty Aaron Loup, both signed by Tampa Bay last February, combined for 1.3 WAR during the regular season while appearing in 41 games. Charlie Morton, pitching in the second year of his two-year, $30 million deal, is the only other free agent on Tampa Bay’s projected World Series roster. The 36-year-old right-hander was brilliant vs. Houston in the ALCS, winning Games 2 and 7 and working 10 2/3 scoreless frames between the two outings.

Re: Timeline of CDC's instructions to coaches The VB team left the court on 1 Oct without singing The Eyes or acknowledging the crowd. On 8 Oct (2 days prior to OU) they stayed for The Eyes. Following the match, UT’s players stood in a line and put their Horns up during the postgame playing of “The Eyes of Texas.” The Longhorns wore face masks and did not appear to be singing along. After last week’s matches against Kansas, the athletes huddled together and did not acknowledge the song. https://www.hookem.com/story/20201008/texas-earns-another-sweeps-austin-molly-phillips-settles-new-home-court/

Go easy on CDC, T&P. Signs are concerning. Be good to contact him to wish her well. I do want to start today’s Forty Acres Insider by apologizing to y’all for my delay in getting back to your many tweets, phone calls and emails in a timely fashion, as my wife has been battling severe vertigo and migraines for the past six weeks, and on Tuesday, we finally got in to see a neurologist followed by an MRI and scans. She’s doing okay and we’re awaiting those results, but I’ve obviously had a significant amount of my attention on her and this situation. I’ll keep you posted on my bride … fingers crossed! https://texassports.com/news/2020/10/14/forty-acres-insider-oct-14.aspx

UT Law grad, not all bad, just miscast ? 🙂

No he is not, my bad. At one of Herman's press conf he mentioned Smith was elected to something, maybe the leadership council ? https://247sports.com/college/texas/Article/Texas-Longhorns-football-captains-Sam-Ehlinger-Joseph-Ossai-Samuel-Cosmi-Derek-Kerstetter-Chris-Brown-TaQuon-Graham-Caden-Sterns-151326567/
-
Herman also said Sterns injured his foot in practice this week and couldn't play. Previously reported ? . Not good when two team captains do not play in the OU game. Locker room turmoil ? The tone of Herman's voice/demeanor announcing the injuries in the press conf seemed suspect.

Says it all: Yet the Yankees entered Game 3 of their ALDS showdown versus Tampa Bay on Wednesday with the series knotted at 1-1. The Yanks then lost 8-4. Their season is now on the brink, in large part because of skipper Aaron Boone's head-scratching overmanagement. After that, Boone faced tough choices in the starting corps. Masahiro Tanaka posted a 3.56 ERA in 48 frames this year. He wobbled in a rain-interrupted Game 2 start against Cleveland, surrendering six runs in four innings, but he seemed like the best choice to go Tuesday on what would have been five days' rest. Instead, Boone turned to 21-year-old rookie right-hander Deivi Garcia, who carried a grand total of 34.1 big league innings into his Game 2 start. Garcia coughed up a solo home run to red-hot postseason legend-in-the-making Randy Arozarena in one inning of work before ceding the mound to J.A. Happ. The veteran southpaw promptly surrendered four runs on five hits and three walks in 2.2 innings. Just like that, Boone had burned through a pair of starters with precious little to show for it. It was apparently a bait-and-switch attempt to catch the Rays off-guard. Asked what he thought about the strategy after the fact, Happ repeatedly declined to comment, telling reporters, "I'll let Aaron speak to that." Happ added that he "didn't get into a groove" after being called upon in Game 2. Boone later told reporters he got Happ "on board with exactly the plan, because it was outside his normal routine. That's something with a player, we want to have them involved with and in the loop." If that sounds like the Yankees skipper covering his tracks, well, maybe it's because he was. There was ostensibly a method to the madness. Happ came in to face the Rays' lefty-heavy lineup. However, he allowed five of the eight left-handed hitters he faced to reach base. It was a shaky gambit from the start. Up 1-0 in the series with their offense rolling, the Yankees essentially opted for a bullpen game in a series that features no off days. Starting Tanaka in Game 2 would have made more sense. Starting Happ and letting him take the hill with a normal routine would have made more sense. Giving the youthful Garcia more rope would have made more sense. Instead, Boone—and general manager Brian Cashman—outsmarted themselves, as Mike Vaccaro of the New York Post noted. "If a 1-0 lead in a best-of-five without home field isn't exactly playing with the house's money, it's still the best place to be after one game on neutral grounds. No need to start overthinking stuff. No need to make a simple game harder than it has to be. No need to be too clever by half. But the Yankees couldn't help themselves." Tanaka could have eased the pain by pitching the Yankees to a win in Game 3. He didn't, allowing five runs in four innings, and now it comes down to Thursday. Jordan Montgomery, who posted a 5.11 ERA in 44 regular-season innings and hasn't pitched since Sept. 24, will get the ball in Game 4 for New York. The Rays could end things before Cole gets another turn. In the end, this might simply be an issue of the Yankees not having enough starting pitching. Cole can't shoulder the load by himself, even with a cadre of sluggers and a playoff-tested bullpen behind him. But Boone and Co. took a weakness and amplified it. The bats may save them. And if they can eke out a win in Game 4, Cole will again be available to take the ball in the winner-take-all Game 5. Win or lose, they'll surely spend the offseason shopping for arms, especially with Tanaka set to hit free agency. And if they fall short of title No. 28, they'll be left wondering if they got too clever by half. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2912500-aaron-boones-bewildering-overmanagement-puts-yankees-on-the-brink-vs-rays

From Max Duggan's profile. One of these is not like the others. chose TCU over Georgia, Penn State, Notre Dame and Ohio State. https://gofrogs.com/sports/football/roster/max-duggan/11307

Say no more. Herman is now 1-11 in three-plus seasons at UT whenever the Horns are trailing going into the fourth quarter. The lone win came last week at Texas Tech. He’s also 2-12 when Texas trails at halftime. https://www.hookem.com/story/20201003/tcu-33-no-9-texas-31-another-winnable-game-disappears-university-deserves-better/

Disappointed there have been no Fall practice reports which began in early Sep. Sthele (pronounced Steely) will be missed. Saw him in baseball playoffs in '19 vs Westlake. "makeup and competitiveness" is correct along with leadership - like Sam Ehlinger. Starting QB for SA Reagan since sophomore year. Google search seems he may have been overworked in '19, likely played this Summer. Excerpts. Link has vid and interview. Story is from '19. Sthele has been the Rattlers' starting quarterback since his sophomore season. He passed for 2,169 yards and 19 touchdowns last year, when Reagan advanced to the playoffs for the 12th time in 13 seasons. Sthele, who has committed to play baseball at Texas, has been resting after a busy summer on the diamond. "There is no injury," Reagan football coach Lyndon Hamilton said. "This is strictly a preventive-type measure." A right-handed pitcher with a 96 mph fastball, Sthele played with some of the country's elite high school players in developmental leagues and all-star showcases this summer. "He was in Florida, he was all over the United States all summer long and if he doesn't get some rest, then basically he's going to overwork that arm," Reagan football coach Lyndon Hamilton said. "He is legit to go this week. "We're just making sure his arm, and elbow and shoulder were good to go. He will more than likely be all in the mix this week for sure," Hamilton said. "When you work all summer long on that shoulder, and you go straight from last year's football season to baseball season, and from baseball season into summer, when you're pitching throughout the summer, if we don't give these young kids some rest, and allow some time off for those elbows, arms and shoulders, ultimately they may have a breakdown," Hamilton said. https://www.kens5.com/article/sports/reagan-quarterback/273-e9b8f40e-a9fa-4a3e-9418-e6facba4776e
