  1. Unfortunate that weather will not be optimum (53 degrees at gametime), should be a great matchup. Playing a comparable schedule including a win over Miss St, Texas St is 6-1 this Fall. AUSTIN, Texas – The Texas softball team will wrap-up its 2019 fall schedule at Red & Charline McCombs Field on Friday at 6 p.m. CT with a contest against I-35 rival Texas State. Admission to the game will be FREE for all fans who wish to attend (no tickets required) with parking available in Lot 115 directly behind McCombs Field. All other lots on the east side of campus will require a proper PTS parking permit. As a heads-up, no TV or radio coverage of Friday's match-up will be available, but live Twitter updates will be provided through the team's official Twitter account (@TexasSoftball). https://texassports.com/news/2019/11/7/softball-to-conclude-fall-season-on-friday-versus-texas-state.aspx
  2. KSt press conference. Nothing remarkable, Texas talk begins at 13:12. Kleiman is not Mensa, but he is a cool dude. Kleiman brought his OC, OL, WR, and Safety coach from NDSU. DC is from Wyoming. Texas Ex Van Malone coaches cornerbacks. Former KSt QB Collin Klein coaches qb's. https://www.kstatesports.com/coaches.aspx?path=football
  3. https://twitter.com/TexasBaseball?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author Fall game (16 innings) with San Jac today at 2PM. No coverage, perhaps twitter will provide updates.
  4. Absolutely no coverage on twitter or elsewhere of Saturday's games. Anyone attend or know the score ? Schedule DH today 12PM on LHN with McClennan an St Mary's.
  5. Know her Dad and spoke with him last Spring at a game. She married a servicemember (Marine, iirc) and is living in Japan. After graduation and a short stint in the NPF. she taught at Del Valle HS and was a volunteer coach with the softball team. Been in Japan couple of years, may be returning soon ? If there is such a thing, Amanda is a pretty good aggy. 😊 She knows the game. https://twitter.com/TexasSoftball?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author Follow today's action with link above.
  6. 7. Reading this thread the day after a disappointing loss, kudos to you Astro fans for being very professional.
  8. Happy for Tres ! He was in the Nats dugout (warmup uniform) for game 1.
  9. Certainly agree ! But if you listen to Herman's comments, he seems to favor Dicker due to his game experience.
  10. https://big12sports.com/watch/?Archive=1906 (may need to disable adblock) Herman begins at 1:.35 Since Bellmont will likely be silent this week, today's teleconference. Media may have received sternly worded letter from Bianco, softball questions. No questions about defense. - Brian Davis asked about going for the field goal early and being less aggressive due to needing points. - Dicker or Naggar will punt until 'Ski returns (broken clavicle) - Whit, BJ progressing well. Overshown, Watson, McCulloch more slowly. Sterns had shot Saturday. Hope to have all back for KState. Thompson out indef. - Chip Brown asked about offensive identity if changing. Same, Herman only blames Sam for 1 of the 4 interceptions, when he tried to force the ball to the TE on the sideline. 2 others were on receivers, and the last one at end of game had to throw the ball on 4th down. - May have missed some, add if you hear. - Rewind with Herman is scheduled for tonight at 9PM, instead of the normal slot at 7PM. May be rerun. As stated, Bellmont will likely remain silent this week. Someone on twitter monitor CDC's tweets ?
  11. https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges/rankings/national-universities #48, Florida #34 imo, Administration's overall goal is for us to emulate Stanford. Relax guys, just need more fairy dust. https://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/09/07/urban-meyer-chastises-tom-herman-for-sprinkle-fairy-dust-quote/
  12. Thanks ! - Did Sullivan do well catching ? Definitely need 2 catchers, but keep the vital rappport (trust, communication) with the pitcher. Can be a challenge for a freshman. - iirc, Shea gave up the tying runs ?
  13. Thanks for the great summary ! Ellsworth ?
  14. This game exemplifies our problems on both sides of the ball.
  15. https://twitter.com/TexasSoftball?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author DH today which started at 12PM vs Tarleton St and Vernon. Twitter has updates. Noticed in photo on twitter we are in the 1B dugout. Maybe a change this year ?
  16. https://twitter.com/qdiggs6 Lifetime Longhorn. Can't get the tweet to embed, but his tweet while watching the Kansas game. "Running the same dumb ass blitz every third down"
  17. Great move to send the letter to parents ! Reinforces their commitment and the message to the players. Congrats on a great season ! !
  18. "Good practice Sunday, players full of spirit, we realize our goals are still ahead" "I told the team championship teams win when they don't play great. We are making progress." "I saw an improvement in tackling" (actually said that postgame) "To go for it on 4th down twice was correct according to the binder, should have a better playcall by myself" "Not listening to outside noise"
  19. TH stated at postgame press conf players will be observed during Sunday practice and he will update Monday.
  20. https://twitter.com/TexasSoftball?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author LSU wins 7-6 in a 10 inning game. See the highlights as reported on twitter in above link.
  21. @updawg - I am also considering a 4Runner. If you have time, please PM me with your experiences. Or here, just don't want to derail the thread.
  22. Recommend you shop the 39K price to other dealers in the DFW area. If you can wait, they can order one for your specs if not available. Personal opinion, but I prefer to buy from a local dealer or one within 50 mile radius for warranty, service work, etc. Service seems more personal, maybe, maybe not. Most dealers will match prices. Don't have time at the moment to search, but on Surly or tos there was a thread about sending emails to various dealers and getting them to match prices. Also, check Edmunds or KBB for pricing. Others may be familiar with other sites. https://www.edmunds.com/tmv.html https://www.kbb.com/
  23. Any chance this may be streamed on Facebook or one of the softball sites ? 24. Normally agree with Super K, but C'mon Man ! OU ran at will and scored 24 points in the 2nd half. There is no greater defender in the red zone than the boundary of the endzone (Hurts' ill advised pass). We do have 10 interceptions for the season, but last in pass defense. We will continue to say what we want about Orlando. https://big12sports.com/stats.aspx?path=football&year=2019
  25. 4. Troy Tulowitzki is loving every minute of his new job as volunteer assistant for the Texas baseball team, which began practice on Monday with the fall World Series scheduled to start Nov. 16. It’s been pushed back later than usual so the team will have use of its new ritzy indoor development center that includes the Cliff Gustafson Pavilion. “Everybody who knows me knows I’m passionate about baseball,” Tulowitzki said. “I love this game.” He’ll be asked to beef up a Texas roster than hit only .250 and only had one hitter above .272. That would be center fielder Eric Kennedy, who hit .320 and was named MVP of the summer California League. Of Tulowitzki, Kennedy said, “He wants us to be big in the box and own it. Have some swagger and let everybody know you’re the best player.” Kennedy said he can’t wait to move into the new building and said it even has an omelette station. “And I’ve never even had an omelette.” Head coach David Pierce said it’s more a nutritional bar. ... The team had workouts that began at 5 in the morning. That’s serious. ... Tulowitzki said he doesn’t know if he wants someday to be a college head coach or a major-league manager. “I’m taking it year by year. I want to do a good job here. I’ll be able to answer that question later in my career.” Asked if new Longhorns student assistant coach and pitching great Huston Street can get him out, Tulowitzki said, “No. He was never able to get me out and still can’t.” https://www.statesman.com/sports/20191015/bohls-texas-moving-on-from-ou-austin-to-host-pro-tennis-tourneys
