  1. From ESPN…power rankings highlight one “best newcomer” performance for each team, 6 of the 32 are horns. Link
  2. …which means he has the perfect schtick for that audience and will probably make money off of it eventually.
  3. 1. “Lost all their talent” 2. “Washington talent”
  4. Holy shit yall. This is incredible. One week into the season, these lunatics have declared their starting QB - who they unanimously believed to be a Heisman contender and certain R1 draft pick a few days ago - is nothing but an out-of-shape stoner and possibly a moron who was outplayed all fall camp by the backups. He’s also kinda fat and talks like - well, someone other than an old army ag (lots of tiptoeing and insinuation around this one). The new coach - once (again, a few days ago) viewed as the guy to restore real Aggie culture, is already being ridiculed for being obese - and thus an poor representative of the university - and possibly an utter disaster as a coach. And to top it all off, they are seriously discussing the deleterious effects that a guest magician may have had on the team. It has to be performance art. If it is, it’s magnificent.
  5. I’m always entertained by this…they create rumors and then cite them, talk about how “rumor has it” and “rumors being floated,” etc. Eventually they are adopted as unquestioned fact. To wit: So, in other words, “I am making this up completely, but here are somewhat specific estimates of what these guys have been paid…” Rumor officially floated!
  6. GT’s offense gives off strong Tom Herman vibes.
  7. Sark has signed guys in December who seemed “off the board” in August each year he has been here. I think that’s driving this sentiment. Losing out on DT and DB recruits is concerning, but based on the last few cycles it is also reasonable to wait and see what happens without getting too anxious.
  8. Meh, Leinart seems all right. Everyone got pissy because he said “I still think we’re the better team” after the RB, but it was right after the game, emotional, etc. That’s not really anything. He has come off as affable ever since, he makes fun of himself, doesn’t seem to take himself too seriously, he seems to get the greatness of that game and VY.
  9. Not sure there’s a great comp, but 2018-19 JV and/or Cole are probably the closest statistically. In the 86 NLCS, he started 2 games and went: 18 IP; 1 ER; 19 K; 1 BB; 8 H Those Mets players readily admit they wanted no piece of a G7/Scott.
  10. Holy shit, yes. 2010 game, following 09 season.
  11. 2 games that didn’t happen that I wish I could’ve seen: 1986 NLCS G7 w Scott on the mound 2010 Rose Bowl with a healthy Colt
  12. Holy shit, this is the first time I’ve seen this guy; CTJ’s description of his physique (a muffin supported by a pair of toothpicks or something like that) is shockingly spot-on.
  13. “Underperforming.” The 2005 team went 13-0 and the average game score was 50-16. These people are out of their minds. I love them.
  14. lol at Hernandez doing the tough guy glare routine at Steve fucking McMichael. That fucking guy.
  15. I’d guess that the following Texas teams of this century would be favored over 2012 A&M (the question was “what is the spread”, not “who would win” - no serious person thinks Texas would lose): 2005 by about 2 TDs 2008 and 2009 by about 10 2001, 2004 and 2023 by about a TD I’m not a gambler so maybe I’m wrong here; I’ve spent about 90 seconds thinking about it and I feel foolish for having even spent that much time considering this asinine hypothetical.
  16. Right, I don’t see any way that Andy Reid can figure out how to crack this nut. Too bad.
