  1. He's a comedian. You're the ones taking it way too seriously. Also, he's not a fucking zoomer lmao
  2. I agree, and I really didn't like the vague nature of the ad. @Satchel this is what I was referring to:
  3. You're not going to get any argument from me that Cody Campbell is a loudmouth donkey. I vacillate often between appreciating what he's done for our NIL efforts, and wishing he'd shut the fuck up because he's not half as smart as he thinks he is. I have dealt with him personally before; I am well aware of what he's like. I'm just as skeptical as you are that any of his efforts beyond the Tech sphere will have any positive impact on sports as a whole.
  4. I think he's pushing the UT grad guy that is a major driver of the school voucher shit, I can't remember his name off the top of my head.
  5. Yeah I mean I'm not necessarily disagreeing, I just want to see the actual details on whatever plan he says he has before I pass judgment.
  6. Nor should they. A hard cap is fucking stupid. This is America, these kids should be able to earn whatever they're worth.
  7. It's more the notion that anyone gives a shit about academic rankings, especially the overwhelming majority of college football players. That was a take you'd see often on TexAgs back in the day, and it was stupid back then, too. You think Arch Manning or Colin Simmons or their agents give a flying fuck about Texas' academic rankings? It's an outright comical notion. Nobody fucking cares. Your take is entirely (and understandably, since you're a Texas fan) biased and parts are certainly dated/incorrect like what I mentioned above, the notion that we need "Texas' money" to survive, or the notion that we have a small fan base. The TV eyeballs/brand/winning shit is of course true, but that's what we're trying to change. Again, your issue is that we're trying. Your perspective is that we should just not try. It's completely illogical and a non-starter in any serious conversation.
  8. What do you mean by this? Not trying to start an argument, just curious about your perspective. The bag game has never gone anywhere. This doesn't make sense for a few reasons: That's an extremely reductive take, you'd have to be a fool to believe this initiative is on the back of Cody Campbell's personal bank account. It's hardly just him, he's just taken it upon himself to be the frontman and, as a result, is the most visible driver of our NIL program. Besides, he's a billionaire, he has the infinite money glitch, he'll be fine. It's like I said before, the money isn't a finite well that's going to dry up. We didn't just stumble across a treasure chest full of money in the desert that's going to run out in a couple years, it's an absurd notion. Obviously sustainability is part of the equation. Think about it from a Texas perspective. Do you think Texas is dropping the bag now and is going to stop doing so later? Does that make any sense to you? Why would we do that if a school like Texas wouldn't?
  9. Cynical and dated, for the most part. The kind of take you'd expect to see on TexAgs in 2003. The issue, as always, is that we're trying at all. We should just not try because we haven't done it yet.
  10. I thought Graham Platner and Bernie Sanders both gave excellent speeches at Sanders' Labor Day event. Graham came on at 39:40 and Bernie speaks at 1:18:40
  11. @blacklab sorry if you have addressed this earlier, but have you thought about scraping box score data or using an API like CFBD for real time stats?
  12. Very nice! I can see it on Firefox on Android FWIW, it's not a button or anything just text that says Light/Dark that you tap
  13. Not sure if this show just isn't for me but random thoughts: A whole lot of shit the Jackal does makes no sense. He's billed as a guy that makes no mistakes, yet he does shit like openly discuss killing someone for money in public with a woman he literally just met 1 minute prior. He leaves a massive wake of destruction and obvious clues almost everywhere he goes. At times, he comes off as less of a master assassin than a more serious Mr. Bean type character who is just constantly at the mercy of an endless series of implausible accidents. There are so many plot inconsistencies and unbelievable coincidences that it would take all day to go through them, and the plot is also extremely telegraphed almost all the time. The tech conspiracy at the heart of the plot is insanely stupid and lacks any depth, especially compared to entirely realistic conspiracy in the novel. Complete waste of Charles Dance's talents casting him as basically a nameless, boring, corpo piece of shit that you forget exists every time he's off screen. The cast consists of quite a few heavy hitters, all great actors in their own right, but the show still feels like a soap opera half the time, especially the family subplot. Everything to do with his wife, child, and in-laws is so incredibly cheesy, poorly acted and poorly written that it feels almost deliberately bad. I know that real life intelligence agencies are exactly this evil and worse, but this portrayal of MI6 just feels generically cartoonish as hell. None of the characters involved are interesting at all. Bianca's character makes no sense, other than being a generic avatar for MI6. There is no reason for her to have a family subplot at all, it was all stupid and unnecessary. Nothing that happens carries any emotional weight at all because we just hop from one unbelievable scenario to another. I thought the first few episodes were pretty good and then the show just entirely went off the rails and got goofier every episode. I will probably still watch the next season because I'm a glutton for punishment.
  14. I suppose I'm mostly going to reserve judgment until I see some details. Neither the ad nor the website seems to offer anything substantive beyond mere platitudes. Not going to go CR here, but...while I like what Campbell has done for Tech, specifically (with regard to NIL etc.), I'm skeptical of his ability to do anything meaningful or good in the political arena. Given what I personally know about all the stupid fucking shit he believes and stuff like the dipshit he's pushing for Tech chancellor right now, I would be very hesitant to support any legislation he is pushing.
  15. This. Just the most obvious emperor has no clothes situation. Tom Brady really did make him.
  16. We can probably thank human biology for that, as it's not as simple as pointing and shooting. Engaging any large living target to kill causes a massive adrenaline rush, even with training. I don't know if you've ever been a deer hunter, but "buck fever" is real and very difficult to suppress even for the most seasoned hunter. I hate to even give the impression that I'm drawing a comparison between game hunting and mass shooters, but the point is I imagine that the flood of adrenaline in your system that makes you jittery and makes your hands shaky as fuck sometimes when you're hunting is amplified tenfold in a situation like this, unless you have had A) a complete psychotic break in which your brain is not functioning/producing hormones normally, and/or B) extensive military training. Someone like Charles Whitman would be a good example of both.
  17. Zionists being extremely Nazi-coded is nothing new
  18. He needs to scowl a bit more. That'll probably help. He's an average NFL coach without Brady and probably just a straight F-tier college coach. I hope they lose out.
  19. Can you paste the article in a spoiler? It's paywalled.
  20. I need that fucking shirt.
  21. Link? I'm not calling you a liar, I have a fair number of differences with Mr. Campbell. But I'm interested to know what his position is on that, I haven't seen anything that I cared to pay attention to.
  22. Jesus enough with the AI pics
  23. What is this man doing
