  1. That’s the ztejas I know and love
  2. Bruins clean up on P12 awards. Jaquez wins POY, Bona wins freshman of the year, Clark wins Defensive POY, and Cronin Coach of the year.

We’re staying in Kensington as well. We were going to do Chinese 2 nights ago but both my kids are like your girlfriend. What I have noticed is most Chinese seems to be Szechuan (or Sichuan here). My kids are very much Mandarin focused.

Just had the best (and most expensive) Indian food I’ve had anywhere- Gymkhana located in Mayfair. Best lamb chops I’ve ever eaten. Everything spot on. Not able to eat a lot currently but ate as much as I could.
  5. Very scientific. But there is no way to project what-ifs. I’m done with the hypotheticals as it is pointless. Yes, the Big12 is a vastly superior conference. But UCLA absolutely dominated the PAC, and would hold its own and challenge for the conference. Texas was 12-6 in conference. I believe strongly we would beat Texas on a neutral floor. Maybe we’ll find out. We did lose perhaps the P12 defensive POY in Jalen Clark, but everyone deals with injuries. time to focus on reality, not this fantasy folly.
  6. but to suggest Texas is a 12-6 Big 12 team but UCLA, who just went 17-0 at home and lost 4 games all to likely tournament teams, would be a .500 team in the Big 12 is just, well, I guess on brand here.
  7. That’s the most retarded statement I’ve ever heard.
  8. Brutal. Lux out for the season with a torn ACL. Probably the one position where we don’t have a legit backup. Chris Taylor can play a decent SS, but an everyday SS? Not sure about that. Lux pretty devastated.
  9. Good to hear @seven. Keep in mind that the chemo, and especially the radiation, will keep doing its thing for several months after you’ve completed treatments. My tumor had shrunk about 50% 6 weeks following treatment. By the time I had my esophagectomy 4 months following treatment, and they biopsied what they had removed, it had shrunk almost 90%. The treatment sucks balls, but the shit works, at least in my case.

  11. BUT, UCLA is #4 in NET. Would that not translate to a #1 seed in your world?
  12. Well fuck me. I never realized that was him.
  13. By what metric is the PAC behind the MWC? Bracketology has 4 Pac teams in and 3 MWC teams. https://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/page/bracketology/ncaa-bracketology-2023-march-madness-men-field-predictions
  14. Kinda cool. Was watching the Today Show this morning and they did a piece on breakthrough early lung cancer detection and work being performed by City of Hope. It focused on work done by my doc, Dr. Jae Kim. Dude is my fucking hero. <iframe loading="lazy" width="560" height="315" src="https://www.today.com/today/embedded-video/mmvo164168773693" scrolling="no" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> link looks fucked up. https://www.today.com/today/embedded-video/mmvo164168773693
  15. Yeah, for a conference winner to have to rind out 3 or 4 wins to win the conference tournament is lame. Bracketology is all kind of fucked up. UCLA has 4 losses, all to projected tournament teams, and is a projected 2 seed. Whatever. I guess I’d rather be a 2 seed in the west than a one seed another region.

We did the backpacking thing through Europe right after graduation in '90. We had a bunch of weed left over and debated leaving it in the hostel for the next wayward traveler. Instead we smoked like there was no tomorrow walking to the train station to board a train to Brussels. I was so high I was having an out of body experience. And sure enough, the moment we crossed into Belgium, they brought a drug dog through our compartment. I was certain it was seeping through my pores and he would smell it, but he sniffed around and moved on. Hit Brussels and switched from weed back to beer. In large quantities.
  17. The Marquesas are MUCH younger than the Society Islands, which are MUCH younger than the Tuamotus. Hence why the Marquesas have no barrier reefs (they just haven't formed yet), and the Tuamotus are ONLY barrier reefs, the islands having eroded and sunk away. If you look at the islands from a distance, you see the more gradual slopes of the Societies (Bora Bora and Moorea both somewhat exceptions) compared to the Marquesas. Hawaii is somewhere between the age of the Society Islands and the Marquesas Islands.
  18. Bruins in a battle in Boulder. Can clinch the P12 title with a win

Was feeling kinda shitty, so gummied up good and have been watching the Omen Trilogy. Not sure if it was a good choice or not. Pretty trippy.
