  1. It is in the middle of West Campus. https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2112-Rio-Grande-St-Austin-TX-78705/306640586_zpid/
  2. Hardin House resident here. And it looks exactly the same as it did in the mid-90s. 💅 My kid is probably going to UT in the fall. If you haven't been there lately, the changes to West Campus changes are crazy. He will probably live at Callaway which I liken to the former Towers maybe.
  3. The last appointed SOS wouldn't be corrupt so she wasn't confirmed. So it's been vacant for months.
  4. This is a loyalty test. It is hilarious.
  5. His facebook posts are a big reason I stopped going to this place, honestly. I use an in-home place now. It's really tragic all around. Definitely not something to joke about.
  6. Yes it is disclosed. I don't disagree that having overnight staff there is the best practice in general. Apparently many boarding places don't have them. Hopefully that changes.
  7. My thought is that a sprinkler system and fire alarm would have done more good in this case than a person there overnight. I live in Georgetown and have used this facility many times over the years. I know people who lost their dogs. I know the owner and his family and my kid knows some of the staff. It is extremely devastating for all involved. Georgetown is reeling.
  8. https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin/austin-city-limits-permit-for-october-not-approved-yet-city-says/? Anyone know more about this?
  9. My 17 year old and friends are going to the game on Saturday. They are driving themselves from outside of Austin. What would be the best place for them to park? I know what I would do but that is different than a group of hs seniors who need a large margin of error.
  10. Ideally the Dems will put up a moderate woman from the private sector with proven executive leadership success. Any ideas?
  11. Midland's numbers. They started in early August. No mask requirement just encouraged. https://www.mrt.com/coronavirus/article/MISD-COVID-cases-top-1-000-16411734.php?fbclid=IwAR031PUqcToCPgpkuxxevtYbaVuiVOpIzdX6eMPYmG6Xf0MfwQ0iFpbu0K0
  12. Ugh he called her sweetheart. She is now a sympathetic character.
  13. So what I am hearing is that transmission is lower in the districts with mask requirement right now? AISD seems like it's doing ok.
  14. I am so upset with our district right now as well. GISD won't even recommend masks. Their language is that either is fine. They started today.

  16. As far as I can tell, districts are not prepping for remote learning contingencies because the state isn't funding it. It is possible this hits/hurts the students and families in the more rural districts the most (fast forwarding to Sept/Oct) because they already have a lack of hospitals, and their counties are more MAGA/maskless.
  17. Thank you! Interesting how off some of the estimates were. I wonder how much this will affect city planning and budgets.
