  1. I thought a lot of the problems last week were on the players who exhibited a clear lack of focus and preparation for the game. Last week was a teachable moment for this coaching staff in terms of tackling technique, alignment and assignment football. There was no improvement from last week to this week in any of those regards. Todd Orlando flat out failed this week and today.
  2. I disagree with this thread. It was a one score game. You definitely kick the field goal there to make it a one score game...
  3. I think they should have been running the ball on every first down in that situation.
  4. There's 2:43 left and WVU has two timeouts left. I generally don't like being conservative on offense, but that's a situation in which you have to be at least a little bit conservative. If we were having trouble running the ball that's one thing, but we moved the ball well all day and our best chance to win the game was in the hands of our offense. We needed to try and run clock there (when you're absolutely right about needing to bleed some clock on the possession before) but Texas had two opportunities to bleed clock and didn't do it and that cost them the game.
  5. Texas established the run in the second half. They were controlling the line of scrimmage. So this dumb mensa motherfucker decides to kick a field goal on 4th and 1 to go from a one score game to...a one score game. Then, after West Virginia carved up your awful defense for an easy touchdown you opt to start taking shots in the endzone instead of doing everything in your power to keep West Virginia from getting the ball back. In almost two years he hasn't learned how to manage a game in the slightest. He can recruit. I think there are positive changes to the culture that have been evident. This program isn't going to win shit until it's dipshit head coach learns how to manage a close game.
  6. Reading comprehension isn't your thing, got it.
  7. I never said his ceiling was defined, I was just saying it's possible his ceiling is to make bad or average programs better but not elite. He went 5-15 against Texas and Oklahoma. He's not known as being an expert recruiter. He's undoubtedly one of the greatest offensive minds in college football, but his personality is wrong for a lot of places. You got your panties in a bunch because I suggested Tech wasn't a place for someone with a high ceiling.
  8. Obviously the main concern during the bye week is to get Sam healthy, but the bye week is timed perfectly because Ingram has been getting more involved on offense, but Herman has said he's still dealing with some nagging injuries so two weeks for him to get well is incredibly ideal right now.
  9. Why does his shirt smell like balls?
  10. Some coaches have defined ceilings which is fine. Perhaps Mike Leach's ceiling is going to places like Lubbock, TX and Pullman, WA and taking bad programs and making them respectable. Perhaps Mike Leach wouldn't do well at a place with a tremendous level of expectation. He was 2-8 against Texas when he was at Tech and both wins were close games that Texas had every opportunity to win. In the SEC he's recruiting against Alabama and Georgia. In the Big Ten he's recruiting against Ohio State. He can definitely coach, but he's not a recruiter and you aren't winning conference championships and national championships in those leagues without a strong recruiting presence.
  11. If there's a god in heaven Sam Elliott will get the Oscar for this that he should've gotten for Big Lebowski
  12. In fairness, he was close, their combined winning percentage is almost .500.
  13. This is hilarious to me. There was never a time where it looked like Conor had a shot except maybe the third round where Khabib was a bit gassed from whipping his ass in the 2nd round that he stood with him in the 3rd. Even then Conor's punches weren't fazing him at all. If Khabib is even allowed to fight again Conor should have to climb the ladder a bit to get another shot, but Dana White is such a pussy he'll probably give Conor a rematch.
  14. Kansas State cannot beat Texas. By that I mean if Texas plays the way they did the final three quarters of the game last week Kansas State cannot compete with them. The only way Texas loses this game is if they're full of themselves coming off two big wins, not ready to play and Snyder pulls off some of that voodoo dark magic bullshit he always pulls against Texas in Manhattan. That's all totally possible which I why I like this as another good test before OU but this is a team Texas should handle.
  15. Fuck both of them. We can beat them, the Cubs, the Brewers or the Cardinals. Fuck em all. We're in boys. Lets go to the ship.
  16. Braves fall down 4-1 in the 7th inning and battle back for 5 runs in the bottom half and hang on for a 6-5 win. One more win this weekend and it's over. Simply incredible.
  17. WWE has a hard on for doing these super shows overseas all of the sudden. They have a WWE network special in Australia coming up so to drum up interest they're dusting off Undertaker vs Triple H so he's just promoting that match although there's rumors of an Undertaker/Kane vs Triple H/Shawn Michaels match in the works.
  18. I'm off the first day of the Mets series in New York. I'm definitely going if they have a chance to clinch the division. I will not be upset in the least if the division has been clinched for a few days by then.
  19. Folty was an ace, Chuckie Clutch came through again off the bench and a week after the Braves suffered as agonizing a loss as a team will ever suffer in the regular season the Braves have grown their lead from 3 games to 6.5 games and feels like they have the Phillies on the ropes. They have to keep the pressure on them. Go out and get the sweep. Turn around and take care of the Nats. Hang on with the Cards and finish this damn thing off.

  21. If he really said he thought Mack would've been fired around 2005 if he didn't land Vince is an amazing statement of bullshit. For one, no, it's highly unlikely they would have. The donors loved Mack. Mack would've been given significantly more rope than that. Secondly it's making a statement that's not rooted in any reality that you're using to support a thesis which is really dumb. There's no way to know what would've happened if Mack hadn't gotten Vince. It's making a blanket statement and supporting it with an iffy hypothetical. It's best just to tune out the media types. I know you guys get a rage hard on every time anyone says anything bad about Texas but the reality is the college football media traffics in Texas' misery. They love cracking jokes and taking shots at the program when it shits the bed and then wonders why fans are so unhappy. It's all intellectual laziness on their part. It's low hanging fruit to rip on Texas when they're down and then easy to rip fans because we're incredibly loud and unhappy that we can't beat the 10th best team in the Big Ten and can barely beat Tulsa.
  22. The bullpen was good today too. Tonight was just the 6th time this year the Braves pitching staff did not allow a walk.
  23. If I'm using pro football reference right he's just the second punter since 1950 to average at least 59 yards per punt with a minimum of six punts in a game. It's undoubtedly one of the greatest debuts in NFL history.
  24. The Braves have starting pitcher they can count on to go more than 6 innings, no relievers they can count on to get outs and a manager who has no idea how to manage his pitching staff and yet they keep clawing and scratching their way to wins. It's incredible to watch in every sense of the word.
