  2. Under the new handicap system we need to post scores on the same day. Indices are reset daily at midnight I believe.
  3. School districts everywhere have had embezzlement issues. The Maintenance departments are a treasure trove for the higher ups in the department. Its very hard to trace where all of the bulk building supplies go. There was a case in the late 80’s in the Goose Creek ISD when the maintenance director built a bay cabin with misappropriated school district materials.
  4. Wading like you would in a Texas bay or in the surf? I would think the steep shorelines would make wading difficult in the Highland Lakes. I’ve never seen anyone do it.
  5. Can’t tell from your post, but don’t use Clorox and ammonia wipes together or while the surface is still wet from the first wipe. Hopefully everyone knows about not mixing clorox and ammonia.
  6. I agree with Lurch on Streamsong. I loved the Red and Blue courses. Don't bother with the new Black course. I hate driving to/from hotel and golf courses on golf trips. And if you are a wine guy, go to Bern's Steakhouse in Tampa the day before and spend the night in Tampa. Steaks are ok, but it has one of the best wine lists in the country.
  7. This. We leave our DNA everywhere. There’s a huge potential for abuse and I will get flamed, but I could support a national DNA data base. I’m also very much pro gun but I would not object to a data base of gun ballistics. Regarding the latter, I suspect guns are stolen so often that it might not be worth it.
  8. 1935 Adolf Hitler secretly authorizes formation of the Luftwaffe with Hermann Göring commander-in-chief. My avatar soon warns his government about it, but nothing is done. 1989 Dallas Cowboys fire coach Tom Landry after a 29-year career. When I stopped being a Cowboys fan. 1993 "World Trade Center bombing of 1993": truck bomb explodes in parking garage of NYC World Trade Center at 12:18pm, killing 6 and injuring over 1,000 in what was the deadliest act of terrorism perpetrated on US soil at the time
  9. This. I suppose it's good to have a DWI defense lawyer in your phone--although with Uber that's becoming a thing of the past for many people, but what the hell are people doing here that they feel the need to have a vetted criminal defense attorney at their finger tips?
  10. Eat it. It looks like pre-flower dandelion.
  11. I went last week. It was very good, but so are Pappas, Vic and Anthony’s, B&B, etc.
  12. Great moments are born from great opportunity. And that's what you have here tonight, boys. That's what you've earned here, tonight. One game. If we played 'em ten times, they might win nine. But not this game. Not tonight. Tonight, we skate with 'em. Tonight, we stay with 'em, and we shut them down because we can! Tonight, we are the greatest hockey team in the world. You were born to be hockey players -- every one of ya. And you were meant to be here tonight. This is your time. Their time -- is done. It's over. I'm sick and tired of hearin' about what a great hockey team the Soviets have. Screw 'em! This is your time!! Now go out there and take it!
  13. Well, sure, if one has, or expects to have, something to hide. I did it mainly for the disease issue. I also was curious about the details of my European heritage. If my DNA helps solve a crime committed by a relative I’m very much ok with that. If a half sibling turns up I don’t really care.

  15. 1903 Due to drought the US side of Niagara Falls runs short of water 1942 World War II: President Franklin Roosevelt orders General Douglas MacArthur out of the Philippines as American defenses collapse, prompting MacArthur's famous line "I shall return." 1980 "Miracle on Ice": US ice hockey team beats heavily favoured Soviet Union, 4-3 at Lake Placid in one of the biggest upsets in Olympic history; Americans go on to win gold medal 1997 Dolly the Sheep, world's first cloned mammal (from an adult cell) is announced by the Roslin Institute in Scotland
  16. Any ideas for a shrub for a small flower bed in Houston? My issue is that it's 100% shade this time of year because of the configuration of the patio homes on our street. It will be full sun during the summer after about 11:00 a.m. The Loropetalums that are planted there now do not do well.
  17. I'm sure Augusta National Golf Club is pissed that he gets to come back every year. I heard a story from a good source that in one of his first trips to Augusta the member that was assigned to look after him welcomed him and asked him and his wife that if there was anything they need to just ask. The wife said "sure, just leave us the fuck alone."
  18. Truth adds a little sausage to their cheese.
  19. Sounds like we both need to attend Pelz’s school. I’ve been watching his pitching videos and at least I have a plan. He says ball position is always middle of the stance which is the bottom of the swing arc.
  20. ^^^^^ I've been saying that for 20 years.
