  1. If you have the Cooking Channel or Ovation, they both show reruns of No Resevrations. I have my DVR set to record as many as possible and to never erase.
  2. Too many cooks in the kitchen in Parts Unknown. Still beautifully shot, but overproduced and many shows went too many directions. They also fell into the editors rut of doing the same formulaic montages with local bands over quick cut video for about 12% of every episode. No Reservations felt like a small crew constantly innovating what they were doing.
  3. Guy Fieri’s schtick is oddly less annoying the more you watch. DDD has fantastic content and is great for what it is. He’s not trying to educate the world on different cultures like Bourdain or Zimmern, he’s just carved out a killer living showing people what a great chicken sandwich looks like in Portland or whatever, and it makes for enjoyable, interesting TV.
  4. Team wayyyy too long, here.
  5. Like a Steve Madden commercial from the 90’s.
  6. While Sam is heading to the WAC with SFA, Lamar, etc.. they’re outgrowing those universities and the rest of the Southland conference schools. Sam’s enrollment is now over 20K with a goal to hit 30K by 2030. It was 13K when I was there 1996-2000. They’ve embraced/capitalized on Houston’s growth to the north and have set claim to The Woodlands with and MBA program based there and now a medical school. This WAC move is the move that angles them towards FBS in the next 5 years and is major move for them in basketball, baseball, and the Olympic sports.
  7. Sam Houston is absolutely not part of the Texas A&M university system. Sam is a member of the Texas university system that includes Texas State and Lamar, among others.
  8. Rain is having a huge impact on both teams
  9. Field of Dreams isn’t really a baseball movie. It’s about life and faith told through fantasy and has ghosts. There’s maybe one real baseball scene in the movie and it’s still just a scrimmage or something. Killer score and really well acted. I’ve grown to like it more and more as I get older.
  10. I just counted on the YouTube clip.. it’s just under a minute!
  11. The Apple commercial acting like they invented fire by introducing phones that are now magically purple.
  12. Pre fixe menus at nice restaurants for holidays. I didn’t deal with it today for Mother’s Day, but have had my fair share of bullshit pre fixe experiences on NYE, Valentine’s Day, etc.. $50, $75, $125 type meals for limited offerings and conveyor belt pork chops.
  13. Damn those first five seasons were greatness. The Dave/Bill dynamic was so great.
  14. Love it!!!!! - proud Sam Houston grad
  15. Lol.. Joe Kane was like 32 years old when they made the movie. Also, for him being such a badass Heisman candidate, all they did was run screen plays to their freshman RB who fumbled a lot. I think one of the biggest problems of The Program is James Caan seemed to have mailed it in. His role done properly would have carried the movie for decades, but it’s pretty blah. That said, flawed or not, I love the shit out of The Program and will watch it any time it’s on.
  16. My all time favorite show, but doubt I’ll watch this. The 10-15 year old me was OBSESSED with this Night Court and it forever holds a special place in my heart. A place that doesn’t want to be contaminated with Night Court 2.0.
  17. Rocket Fuel Malt Liquor...... Damn!
  18. Jerry: Wait a second.. Were you wearing those shoes in the cab? Kramer: Yeah, yeah! Right after I left the Y. Jerry: Don't you see what's happened?? He couldn't talk, he's wearing these shoes, he's drooling... Elaine: He thinks you're mentally challenged! Jerry: Well........... Elaine: Well, what happens when you show up? He'll see that you're not! Jerry: Not necessarily because.....
  19. It’s hard to tell because the only visible sign says Beltway 8, but that looks to be about a mile from my house. That looks a lot like the NE part of the belt.
  20. That scene was rewrote the night before taping and Jason Alexander had just an hour or so to memorize and perform a multiple page monologue and nailed it.
