  1. OAN is still firmly in his corner, but unfortunately, it's only available at like truck stops these days.
  2. Appreciate the updates. Stat tracker stopped working in the second set.
  3. I call B.S. I used to work in San Rafael (not holding or spinning signs), and I can't think of any local who made reference to a West Marin. Maybe I wasn't part of the Marin 2% crowd.
  4. This is so oddly specific that it makes me think you've had the same gig.
  5. Each side spent around $6 million. There’s simply no way to spin the magnitude of this defeat for the anti-choice movement.
  6. Unaffiliated Kansas voters can vote in primary elections on state referendums like the abortion one, but they aren’t allowed to vote for candidates as part of a party’s primary. Hence the huge delta between abortion votes and candidate votes.
  7. Manchin flipped his position on the climate package.
  8. Second all of the above with a couple caveats. Everyone needs a different amount of water when running over the summer. It all depends on your conditioning and how much you sweat. Personally speaking, I'd be way too bloated if I were consuming 10 ounces per mile. And when it comes to gels, they are much better at replacing calories but less effective at replacing electrolytes, hence the need for salt tabs in the summer or basically whenever you sweat a bunch. The other word of caution with gels is that you have to test a bunch to make sure they're compatible with your gut. GUs are notoriously hard on the gut. I've experimented with a bunch (GU, Huma, Honey Stinger, Clif Bloks, Hammer) but ultimately settled on Maurten which are just fantastic. They taste great and go down easy. You can also go the drink mix route which is great pre-run or during. I highly recommend Maurten once again, Tailwind, nuun, or Skratch.
  9. I'm doing NYC in November and did Boston last October which both required summer training. I started my NYC build early this year (back in May), and I agree it's pretty brutal, but training in this weather provides huge dividends come race day. Believe it or not, your body does get acclimated to the heat. It typically takes a few weeks. You won't be able to hit your desired paces, but it does get a little more bearable the more you do it. Make sure you're taking salt as well. I usually take at least one salt tab before any workout run or run longer than 10 miles.
  10. Yeah, saw MUNA during sxsw, and the crowd was definitely on the younger side. Their new album comes out in June, and I expect they'll be more of a household name after that. I saw that Japanese Breakfast taping as well last month - she's had a Phoebe Bridgers type trajectory over the past year. I'm a little surprised she's doing ACL as she just played here last October, then a set of shows during sxsw and then the ACL taping last month.
  11. There are a couple acts that are poised to break out soon like Wet Leg and MUNA. Pleased with some of the other undercards too, primarily Japanese Breakfast and Arlo Parks.
  12. I have a 5 year-old daughter. She refers to people as he/she/they if she doesn't know their preferred pronoun. She knows what it means to be trans. She understands that boys can marry boys, and girls can marry girls. We talk about these topics as well as race and privilege because I want her to be a good, caring and decent human later in life. I would want her teachers to be able to discuss these topics as well in a respectful manner, because I want her to have confidence that her teachers are a trusted source and are free to explain concepts she inquires about. There's zero discussion of sexuality ever, because when we talk about her friend's parents that are gay, we talk about the content of their character and not their lifestyle. For the life of me, I can't understand how the right is hell bent on sexualizing this topic. It's a perverse fascination that occupies an unhealthy amount of their headspace.
  13. Ran the full in 2:47. Didn't realize it got that cold in Houston. It certainly kept the crowds away as it was pretty lonely out there.
  14. Ended up with an embarrassment of riches at RB, and now I’m struggling with picking two out of the following: Miles Sanders, Jeff Wilson Jr., Sony Michel, and DeAndre Swift (trending healthy)
  15. Kissinger backed out of that event. He cancelled himself.
  16. Don's a home builder. Undocumented workers made him the wealthy piece of shit he is.
  17. Amarillo actually has a fairly significant immigrant population, but it's largely due to refugee resettlement.
  18. Ran my first Boston yesterday. Weather was pretty decent - light wind, and low 60s throughout. Ran a 2:48:36 which I was thrilled with. Didn’t intend to race it, but I pretty much did. Felt amazing to just take it all in - running an in person marathon again and Boston at that. The crowds were amazing. I love Boston, the people there, and their collective energy. They are the best hosts imaginable.
  19. Yep. The 1993 103-win Giants team would like to have a word with anyone complaining about the current format.
  20. Lamonte Wade Jr. clutch again. That guy is batting like .800 in the 9th inning. It's remarkable.
  21. He's a housing developer. He's made a shit ton of money off undocumented labor.
  22. Just saw a quorum report alert that said Abbott is going to add an Arizona-style election audit to the third special session.
  23. There's a lot of black and blue which means Trevor Bauer was probably involved in the design.
  24. For the past decade plus, the Giants continue to do more with less while the Dodgers continue to do less with more. You can spend all the money you want, but you can’t buy clubhouse chemistry, and that’s what the Giants have in spades, that and a better front office especially with the addition of Zaidi three years ago.
