  1. I don’t know about that. JC had truly elite speed that Bijan lacks, but Bijan makes moves that JC simply couldn’t. Ricky, likewise, possessed qualities of his own that made him better than either BR or JC, but Bijan has moves that RW didn’t. When it comes to “WOW, did I just see that?” plays, Bijan has the edge on those two guys. That doesn’t mean I think he’s better overall, it’s just elusiveness versus power or speed (both of which Bijan also has, just not at the same level). /splitting hairs Meanwhile, VY is awesome, like GOAT!
  2. Bijan got 20-30 touches a game. We can’t quite expect the same as Superman with 60-70 touches. Not to mention Superman himself was surrounded by bad MFs. I’m not putting Bijan on VY’s level. I was referring mostly to the “you never knew what he was going to pull off next” part.
  3. Lane was THE referee during the days I was watching more boxing. As a side note, the article mentions many of his fights, several at the old Las Vegas Hilton. A bunch of big fights were held there, including a string of Tyson’s. My daughter was in a big soccer tournament in LV in 2015, and her team was “assigned” to stay at the Westgate, which is the new name. I didn’t even realize we were at the old LVH until I watched one of Tyson’s fights on YouTube and they had an aerial shot in the intro. The old Hilton has seen better days, but the people watching got really interesting when the rough Valentines Day crowd arrived from California a couple of days after us. /csb
  4. I’ve said this for years. Accusers are rarely identified unless they be are sued by the wrongly accused. By that time, the damage of their false accusations is done. So much of what we’re arguing about would be avoided if there was some anonymity on both ends. It would probably result in fewer vindictive false accusations.
  5. My DIL was playing a Q&A game with my almost 3-year old granddaughter last night (we are visiting). The questions were all “what’s your favorite” this or that. About 20 questions into it, she asked what her favorite body part is, and my granddaughter yelled out, “Nipples!” She always liked singing the “head and shoulders, knees and toes” song, so this was unexpected.
  6. I’m beginning to think I liked the old method of bags and fake jobs better.
  7. I wish I could share a legit hunting pic I have of a former Texas VB player, but I’m too respectful to do shit like that.
  8. Judging from this level 12 family story along with my wife’s extending Texas family and the holiday family threads on Surly, I have come to conclusions: 1) There are a ton of Texas families that are dysfunctional on a whole ‘nuther level. 2) Hollywood writers should read Surly for its treasure trove of plot ideas. 3) We have no right to make fun of Ohio.
  9. You can always take comfort in that you’ve inspired some of us to incorporate KeysPhoneWallet into our mental checklist. Or, in my case, KeysPhoneWalletWatchRingPhonePants.
  10. It happens at the US Capitol Building restrooms and nothing happens, either. /No CR
  11. “Student athletes can’t even afford to take a date out for pizza and a movie.” I heard that more than anything. Of course, and like so many other things, nobody really thought that’s where it would end.
  12. On the l left is my old insulated bag, and on the right is my new one. Anyone notice a difference? Should I tweet CDC? And to those up thread who point out the lighter, brighter orange back in Brat’s early retirement days, remember that it was DKR who darkened the orange to (allegedly) make it harder for defenses to see which player was carrying the ball on option plays.
  13. Came across this photo I took with my iPhone back in 2020. It’s not fancy, but I like the way it turned out.
  14. The Bad River is at the bottom of those bluffs, and it’s pretty heavily wooded. Other than that, you can test your long range skills on pronghorn and prairie dogs.
  15. I recorded this huge herd of mule deer two weeks ago east of Rapid City. I missed the first ~50 getting my iPhone ready, and there were dozens more in the field just beyond the stubble that are hard to make out in the video. There were a good 250 total. This is 2 miles from where I got stuck in a line of cars 10 years ago waiting for a big herd to cross the highway. A friend was close to the front of the line and saw most of the herd. He claimed to have stopped counting at 200, but he’s a Sooner, so I assumed he was lying.
